{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://lance.house.gov/newsroom/press-releases/lance-rahway-river-fix-soon-law", "Lance: Rahway River Fix Soon Law", "2016-12-08", "2016", "2016-12", "Republican", "House", "NJ", "Leonard Lance", "L000567", "lance.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) \u00a0secured authorization of the Rahway River Basin Flood Risk Management Feasibility Study in the final water infrastructure package that passed the U.S. House today on a 360 - 61 vote.\u00a0 Lance\u2019s Rahway River provision instructs the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to finish the study.\u00a0 The U.S. Senate is expected to pass the measure immediately.\n\u201cResidents and businesses in Cranford, Kenilworth, Maplewood, Millburn, Rahway, Springfield and Union have waited long enough.\u00a0 My provision tells the Army Corps to finish the study and finalize the flood mitigation plan.\u00a0 Congress will soon deliver this legislation to the President\u2019s desk and I urge his signature so these communities can get the help they need,\u201d Lance said after passage.\u00a0\nLance has led the federal effort to secure authorization for completion of the study.\u00a0 Lance and his staff have met with the Mayors Council on Rahway River Watershed Flood Control and the Army Corps regularly to coordinate efforts.\u00a0\u00a0 Lance recently joined Senator Bob Menendez (NJ) and Colonel David A. Caldwell, Commander of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (New York District), for a site visit of the proposed solution, known as Alternative 4A.
