Loebsack and Congressman Pete Olson (R-TX) were the bipartisan cosponsors of the House version of this legislation, which passed by unanimous consent on a voice vote. This legislation will help improve and coordinate a national response to diabetes, and other metabolic and autoimmune diseases, by establishing a private-public Commission charged with making recommendations to streamline federal investments, as well as improving coordination and clinical care outcomes. This disease affects over 30 million Americans and costs $320 billion each year in health care costs.
