David McKinley, Alex Mooney and Evan Jenkins sent a letter Monday to Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, to pass a long-term deal regarding the Children\u2019s Health Insurance Program.\r\n\r\n\tThe program provides insurance for families with incomes that are too high to qualify for Medicaid, and nine million children nationally are covered. More than 21,000 children in West Virginia have health insurance coverage through CHIP. The state adopted a state version in 1998.\r\n\r\n\t\u201cCentral Appalachia is largely rural, with access to care issues common in rural, remote areas.
