{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://morgangriffith.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=364350", "Griffith Statement on House-Senate Budget Compromise", "2013-12-12", "2013", "2013-12", "Republican", "House", "VA", "Morgan Griffith", "G000568", "morgangriffith.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement after voting in favor of the bipartisan, bicameral budget compromise.\u00a0 It passed by a vote of 332-94.\r\n\u201cThis budget agreement is a compromise.\u00a0 It is not perfect, nor does not contain everything I would like, but it is on the right track.\u00a0 This budget keeps with spending levels in previously passed House budgets commonly known as the Ryan plan, and this will be the first time since I was elected to the House of Representatives that Congress \u2013 both the House and the Senate \u2013 has passed a budget.\u00a0 This agreement could have been stronger.\u00a0 But in light of the fact that the Senate is controlled by Democrats, this is the best deal possible.\u00a0 Both the Democrats and the Republicans worked together to reach this compromise.\u00a0 Neither political party loved the bill.\u00a0 As I learned in the House of Delegates, when both sides don\u2019t love a compromise bill, it is probably a fair compromise.\u00a0 \r\n\u201cThis compromise bill included a three month extension of programs to help our rural hospitals and seniors, specifically the Sustainable Growth Rate fix and Medicare dependent and low-volume hospital programs.\r\n\u201cI remain of the belief that out-of-control federal spending must be checked in order to avoid further burdening future generations of Americans with excessive debt, and will continue working to decrease our deficits and our debt.\r\n\u201cWhile this budget is not perfect, I commend Chairman Paul Ryan for his work on this agreement.\u201d\r\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://morgangriffith.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=364350"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.3705850578844547, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
