{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://noem.house.gov/index.cfm/in-the-news?ContentRecord_id=7ED3DCF1-7CDA-4459-B167-E27947DED0AF", "KOTA: Chief Tidwell visits SD; more work to be done with pine beetles", "2013-11-07", "2013", "2013-11", "Republican", "House", "SD", "Kristi Noem", "N000184", "noem.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "The pine beetle projects in the hills have been\u00a0successful, but there's more to be done.\r\nThat was a main message at Thursday's pine beetle meeting at Black Hills National Forest Supervisor's Office in Custer.\u00a0 Congresswoman Kristi Noem (R-SD) brought U.S. Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell into South Dakota to examine the beetle\u00a0devastation.\r\nAfterwards Noem and Tidwell met with local business owners\u00a0and industry leaders to discuss the damage and what's to\u00a0be done to move forward.\u00a0\r\nNoem says one program \u2013 The Mountain Pine Beetle Response\u00a0\u2013 is one of a kind. \"This program is going to allow for the treatment of 200,480 acres at a time. It's going to let\u00a0us identify and deal with high risk acres of the Black Hills\u00a0and to really do what we can to contain the infestation that\u00a0we have,\" said Noem. \u00a0 Tidell says the work that's been done so far to the pine beetles has been effective. \"Because of the work that's getting done, it's making a\u00a0difference. It's not only making these forests more\u00a0resilient, it's making these forests safer.
