I probably have two bowls, three bowls of cereal when I go home, personally,\" Pry said. Many students say most days, their plates are anything but full.\r\nSophomore Evan Baumberger said \"some lunches are ok but there are some that feel like you could add more to them. For instance, I'm an athlete, and after school we usually have practices and usually I get hungry at the end of the day because lunch doesn't always fill me up.\" \"Every day I still consider bringing a school lunch but I'm sort of lazy.\u00a0 I don't want to go and make it and everything.\u00a0 So I do consider it though to get more in my meal , otherwise it's a very light calorie and you're super hungry. And by the end of the day, I'm starving,\" Pry said. It's not every day kids get to eat a turkey platter like this. Some days, lunch just gets dumped.\r\n\"It depends what kind of day it is, if you have practice after school you'd have to eat it but if you don't then, you just throw it away. I guess and don't think much about it,\" Baumberger said. So congresswoman Kristi Noem wants those who serve our kids everyday to decide how our kids eat lunch.\r\n\"I just want to make those guidelines instead of regulations. If we can let our local administrators determine how best to feed our kids with the guidelines from the federal government, I think that that's the best approach,\" Noem said. Chester Area School superintendent Heath Larson said \"I think the opportunity for some homemade food here in Chester has always been a big priority in what the kids have been used to, so with that opportunity we would certainly appreciate the flexibility and local control.\" \"For a lot of people around the area, this might be their only warm meal they might get for the day, and they really cut it back , which is really sad,\" Baumberger said.\r\nNoem believes it's important to have guidelines but she doesn't believe federal funding should be held over a district's head for making sure it's kids get enough to eat.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://noem.house.gov/index.cfm/in-the-news?ContentRecord_id=CA218216-9E96-4688-A8FF-25FB34DC4680"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.7979969959706068, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
