Kristi Noem today helped advance H.R.5682, a bill to cut through regulatory red tape and allow the Keystone XL Pipeline to move forward.\u00a0 Noem joined both Republicans and Democrats in passing the legislation, which would formally approve TransCanada\u2019s application to construct the pipeline, through the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday.\r\n\u201cMany South Dakotans are paying twice as much of their after-tax income on energy than the national average.\u00a0 We ought to be doing everything we can to bring those costs down,\u201d said Rep.
