The U.S. House vote that took place Nov. 12 declared the environmental studies complete and approved the project for construction.\n\tPipelines are the safest way to transport energy products. They help alleviate congestion on our nation\u2019s highways and railroads, which have seen unprecedented increases in traffic leading to devastating delays for farmers, petroleum consumers and other commercial industries.\n\tThe claim that jobs provided by the Keystone XL pipeline would only be \u201ctemporary\u201d was offensive and devalued construction workers as highly skilled and safety-focused professionals. In our industry, you work as hard, safely and efficiently as you can in order to get the project completed on time and on budget. When one project is done, you move on to the next. People build successful careers this way, with access to health care, continuing education and secure retirements. They should be revered and valued as legitimate careers that are vital to American society.\n\tCongressman Nolan proved he is willing to put partisan politics aside and put Americans back to work. Along with 30 other Democrats who worked across the aisle, Rep. Nolan should be given credit for moving the nation forward.\n\tKeystone XL has been through rigorous review, and it is time to get this project started.
