District Court Judge, Randolph Moss, Confirmed by the Senate Today", "2014-11-13", "2014", "2014-11", "Democrat", "House", "DC", "Eleanor Norton", "N000147", "norton.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "WASHINGTON, D.C \u2013 The Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) announced that Randolph Moss, Norton\u2019s recommendation for the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia, was confirmed by the Senate today.\u00a0 Norton recommended Moss to President Obama.\u00a0 Moss, a graduate of Yale Law School and an editor of the Law Review, served in the Clinton administration as an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel, and is the current chair of the Regulatory and Government Affairs Department at law firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.\n\u201cRandolph Moss is a seasoned lawyer with a stellar reputation as a litigator,\u201d Norton said.\u00a0 \u201cHis extensive experience, particularly in constitutional, administrative, and commercial litigation, will make him a valuable addition to our district court.\u201d\nPresident Obama, like President Clinton, granted Norton senatorial courtesy to recommend candidates for federal district court judges and other important federal law enforcement officials in the District.\u00a0 The Congresswoman recommended Moss from a number of candidates screened by her Federal Law Enforcement Nominating Commission, chaired by Pauline Schneider, a special counsel at Ballard Spahr LLP and a former president of the D.C. Bar.\u00a0 President Obama has nominated and the Senate has confirmed eight of Norton\u2019s other recommendations for district court judges \u2013 Ketanji Brown Jackson, Amy Berman Jackson, James E. Boasberg, Rudolph Contreras, Beryl A.
