{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://pallone.house.gov/press-release/pallone-announces-epa%E2%80%99s-finalization-plans-woodbrook-road-superfund-cleanup", "Pallone Announces EPA\u2019s Finalization of Plans for Woodbrook Road Superfund Cleanup", "2013-11-05", "2013", "2013-11", "Democrat", "House", "NJ", "Frank Pallone", "P000034", "pallone.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "LONG BRANCH, NJ\u2014Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) released the following statement today upon the announcement by the Environmental Protection Agency\u2019s that is has finalized its plans to move forward with the cleanup of the Woodbrook Road Superfund site in South Plainfield, NJ:\n\u201cThe remediation of the Woodbrook Road site is incredibly important to South Plainfield.\u00a0 It is essential that this site be cleaned up in a quick and comprehensive manner.\u00a0 With the issuance of the Environmental Protection Agency\u2019s (EPA) final cleanup plan for this site, we are now on the way to a full cleanup to remove all public health hazards from the area.\u00a0 I am encouraged that EPA has finalized its plans to remove contaminants from the site instead of on-site storage of the material.\u00a0\n\u201cSuperfund sites can contain toxic contaminants that have been detected in drinking water wells, creeks and rivers, backyards, playgrounds and streets.\u00a0 Communities impacted by these sites can face restrictions on water use and recreational activities as well as economic losses as property values decline due to contaminated land.\u00a0 In the worst cases, residents of these communities can face health problems such as cardiac impacts, infertility, low birth weight, birth defects, leukemia, and respiratory difficulties.\n\u201cI am pleased to see that we are moving forward with this important cleanup and I remain committed to fighting for increased funding on the federal level for the Superfund program so that sites like this can be cleaned up at a faster pace.\u201d\u00a0\n\u00a0\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://pallone.house.gov/press-release/pallone-announces-epa%E2%80%99s-finalization-plans-woodbrook-road-superfund-cleanup"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.8815620094537735, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
