{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://pallone.house.gov/press-release/pallone-announces-more-36-million-fix-asbury-park-boardwalk", "Pallone Announces More than $3.6 Million to Fix Asbury Park Boardwalk", "2013-10-23", "2013", "2013-10", "Democrat", "House", "NJ", "Frank Pallone", "P000034", "pallone.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Long Branch, NJ \u2013 Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced a $3,649,907 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to repair damage sustained to the Asbury Park Boardwalk as a result of Superstorm Sandy. \u00a0The grant will cover 90% of the cost of the project.\u00a0 An estimated 66,000 square feet of the boardwalk was damaged during last October\u2019s storm.\n\u201cI believe the best way to mark the anniversary of Superstorm Sandy is by recognizing New Jersey\u2019s resilience and efforts to rebuild, and this grant for the historic Asbury Park Boardwalk does just that,\u201d said Pallone.\u00a0 \u201cThe reconstruction of Asbury Park\u2019s Boardwalk was critical to the city\u2019s full recovery, and I\u2019m pleased residents and tourists can enjoy the boardwalk again once thanks to this reconstruction effort.\u201d After the storm, Asbury Park demolished some parts of the boardwalk and stabilized others until permanent repairs could be made. \u00a0A contract was awarded to GCS Contractors Corp. to reconstruct 24,000 square feet of the boardwalk with aid from city employees and equipment.\nThe grant announced today will cover the costs incurred for repairing the remaining 42,000 square feet of the boardwalk including new decking and the demolition and removal of an estimated 210 tons of damaged decking.\u00a0 The work required the excavation and disposal of more than one ton of unsuitable soil of and the re-grading of more than 4,670 square yards of ground to support the new boardwalk.\nThe grant also covers the cost of two new beach access points will be built with ramps and stairs as well as the installation of conduits, an electrical cabinet, 620 feet steel railings and nine new waterfront decorative street lights.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://pallone.house.gov/press-release/pallone-announces-more-36-million-fix-asbury-park-boardwalk"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 2.3293267004191875, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
