{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://pallone.house.gov/press-release/pallone-statement-proposed-sandy-hook-fee-increase-0", "Pallone Statement on Proposed Sandy Hook Fee Increase", "2014-11-21", "2014", "2014-11", "Democrat", "House", "NJ", "Frank Pallone", "P000034", "pallone.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) issued the following statement in response to the U.S. National Park Service\u2019s proposal to increase Sandy Hook\u2019s camping and parking fees:\n\u201cSandy Hook is a treasure along the New Jersey shore that should remain affordable for anyone who wants to visit, regardless of his or her economic situation.\u00a0 I want to see the park continue to encourage tourism, create recreational opportunities and serve as an economic driver for the local economy.\n\u201cI have always been an advocate for the preservation and upkeep of Sandy Hook and will continue to be, but I do not support asking hardworking New Jersey families to fork over more money in order to spend time together at one of our nation\u2019s national parks.\n\u201cIt was just two years ago that the National Park Service increased fees at Sandy Hook by fifty percent and there was significant opposition at that time.\u00a0 I am requesting that the National Park Service schedule a public hearing on the issue at Sandy Hook so that the local community and all interested parties can have their voices heard.\u00a0 I encourage everyone to make their feelings on this matter known to the National Park Service.\u201d\nThe Gateway National Recreation Area is seeking public comment on the proposed fee increase.\u00a0 To do so, send an email to Fee_increase@nps.gov or send a letter to the Office of the Superintendent, Gateway National Recreation Area, ATTN: proposed parking and camping fee increase, 210 New York Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://pallone.house.gov/press-release/pallone-statement-proposed-sandy-hook-fee-increase-0"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.7829267997294664, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
