Payne, Jr. (NJ-10) released the following statement in reaction to President Obama\u2019s decision to allow individuals to stay on their current health care plans through 2014:\n\u201cUnfortunately this was the only choice the President had due to the problems with the health care website.\u00a0 Even if the website is fixed by the end of November, that only leaves people with a month to enroll. We cannot leave people out in the cold without health care, and it only seems fair for those who have been unable to get onto the website and enroll in a health care plan.\u00a0\n\u201cDespite website problems, I would encourage people to continue to enroll in the exchanges and compare their current insurance plans to the ones being offered through the marketplaces.\u00a0 Once people examine their current plans and see what their insurance covers, or doesn\u2019t cover, they will realize that the Health Care Exchanges provide more comprehensive, preventive coverage that will likely suit their needs at a lower cost.\n\u201cIn the coming months, I hope that my Republican colleagues will stop their selfish political motivations and end their obsession with sabotaging the Affordable Care Act. Millions of Americans are counting on this law to end the very predatory practices by insurance companies that have led to the canceling of insurance plans.
