{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://posey.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=394151", "Posey: Omnibus Bill Product of Broken Budget Process", "2014-12-11", "2014", "2014-12", "Republican", "House", "FL", "Bill Posey", "P000599", "posey.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Posey: Omnibus Bill Product of Broken Budget Process\r\n                      \r\n                    \r\n                        \r\n                    \r\n                    \r\n                    \r\n                    \r\n                    \r\n                        \r\n                            Washington,\r\n                            December 11, 2014\u00a0-\r\n                        Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) released the following statement concerning today\u00e2\u0080\u0099s vote on H.R. 83, the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015:\r\n \u00e2\u0080\u009cWashington needs to get serious real fast about fixing our broken budget process,\u00e2\u0080\u009d said Congressman Posey. \u00e2\u0080\u009cLast week our national debt climbed past $18 trillion dollars, a major milestone that went virtually unnoticed and under-reported by the major media.\r\n \u00e2\u0080\u009cEvery year the Administration has submitted its budget late \u00e2\u0080\u0093 almost two months beyond the legal deadline. And every year for the past four years the House has passed a budget plan with a pathway to balance along with appropriations bills while the Senate has refused to act. So once again we are stuck here at the eleventh hour rushing to pass another \u00e2\u0080\u0098too big to read\u00e2\u0080\u0099 spending bill to keep the federal government funded. This is an irresponsible way to manage our nation\u00e2\u0080\u0099s finances and my hope is that the new Congress will return Washington to better fiscal ways.\r\n \u00e2\u0080\u009cAdditionally, the omnibus bill makes no attempt to address the President\u00e2\u0080\u0099s unilateral and unconstitutional action to grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. Congress should not fund the President\u00e2\u0080\u0099s efforts to circumvent Congress and rewrite the law. I strongly believe that the first step in reforming our immigration system is to secure our borders and achieve operational control over them as called for by the 9-11 Commission.
