Reichert presented Susan Chung, founder of the Korean Adoptee Family Foundation (KORAFF) with the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute\u2019s (CCAI) \u201cAngel in Adoption\u201d award.\nMs. Chung, a resident of Sammamish, has greatly given back to her community by helping families who have adopted Korean children understand their birth nation\u2019s heritage and culture through the founding and running of KORAFF. KORAFF offers educational programs designed to encourage children to identify with their native cultures and serves as a valuable resource for both parents and children.\nReichert stated, \u201cI was honored to nominate Ms. Chung for this recognition. Her dedication to service and to these families is undeniable and she is a leading light in the 8th District. Her love of and passion for her work is evident in everything she does, and I know the benefits endowed by KORAFF programs reach far beyond individuals, and enrich entire communities.\u201d\nBackground\nCCAI\u00a0was created in 2001 by the bipartisan, bicameral Congressional Coalition on Adoption to raide Congressional and public awareness about the issue of adoption.\u00a0 The Angels in Adoption program began in 1999 as a Congressional press conference to recognizing individuals who were outstanding in this area.\u00a0 The program has since developed and is now a yearlong awareness campaign that culminates in an awards ceremony and Gala celebration in Washington, D.C.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://reichert.house.gov/press-release/reichert-awards-angel-adoption-recognition-susan-chung"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 2.2129351273179054, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
