Richmond (LA-02) issued the following statement regarding the allegations of misconduct at Veteran\u2019s Affairs facilities:\n\u201cOur veteran\u2019s have made tremendous sacrifices\u2014whether on the shores of Normandy, in the fields of Vietnam, or in the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan. \u00a0I have always believed we have a responsibility to all who have served, including the responsibility of providing proper care for them when they return from that service.\u00a0 Unfortunately, we are not meeting that responsibility in Arizona, Louisiana, and many other parts of the country.\u00a0 The allegations we have heard recently are deeply disturbing and must be thoroughly investigated.\u00a0 From the top to the bottom those found to be responsible, whether through direct action or neglect, should be dismissed from service with all deliberate speed and we must do all we can to ensure we provide a first class system of care.\u201d", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://richmond.house.gov/press-release/rep-richmond-statement-va-hospital-misconduct"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.7485649548470974, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
