Roby said. \u201cAppropriations has oversight on the whole range of government spending.\nThis new role provides a unique opportunity to push for the kind of conservative spending priorities that will put us on a sustainable financial path for future generations.\u201d\nRep. Roby\u2019s assignment became official after it was approved by the House Republican Steering Committee. Two other Members of Congress \u2013\u00a0Rep.. Mark Amodei (R-NV) and Chris Stewart (R-UT) \u2013 also received assignments to the committee. The vacancies were created by the\u00a0resignations of Reps.\u00a0Jo Bonner (R-AL) and\u00a0Rodney Alexander (R-LA), and the death of Rep. Bill Young (R-FL).\nWith this move, Rep. Roby will no longer serve on the\u00a0House Armed Services Committee, the\u00a0House Agriculture Committee, or the House Education and the Workforce Committee. Rep.
