The bills are:
· the EARLY Act Reauthorization, which would support efforts to educate young women and health care professionals about breast cancer, and enhance research, patient support, and disease prevention programs; and
· the Clay Hunt Suicide Prevention for American Veterans Act, which would evaluate Department of Defense mental health and suicide prevention programs to ensure they are effectively serving our veterans.
Ros-Lehtinen has a long record of working to ensure our veterans receive the care they deserve. She understands the needs of veterans because her husband, Dexter, is a combat veteran who volunteered for service and sustained serious injuries while serving our country in Vietnam. Currently Marine Reservists, her step-son, Doug, and daughter-in-law, Lindsay, served our nation as Marine officers in Iraq and Lindsay also served in Afghanistan.
Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:
“Our nation should work to ensure that those who have sacrificed so much are taken care of, and that we re-double our efforts to prevent breast cancer, which has already negatively impacted too many families. Only with the proper programs in place can we make our country a healthier, happier, and more productive place to live for all Americans. ”
#####", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at
url
http://ros-lehtinen.house.gov/press-release/working-improve-health-care-south-florida-ros-lehtinen-supports-two-important-bills
