{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://sablan.house.gov/press-release/republican-cr-strips-obamacare-medicaid-funds-nmi", "Republican CR strips Obamacare Medicaid funds for NMI", "2013-09-24", "2013", "2013-09", "Independent", "Senate", "MP", "Gregorio Sablan", "S001177", "sablan.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Republican CR strips Obamacare Medicaid funds for NMI                                           \n              Sep 24, 2013      \t\t        \t    \n      \t            \n                    \n                                            \n          \n        \n        \n            \n    \n  \n    \n    \n    The Republican continuing resolution to keep the federal government open contains numerous unacceptable provisions that could lead to a government shutdown after September 30.\u00a0 For instance, the Republican\u2019s proposal would strip the Northern Mariana Islands and the other U.S. territories of new Medicaid funding as part of the effort to defund Obamacare.\u00a0 That new law is providing $109 million in additional Medicaid funding for the NMI, money that is helping to keep our hospital open.\u00a0 Veterans, too, are at risk of losing access to services and face delays in medical claims processing, if the CR passes.\u00a0 To prevent that, I have joined with 36 of my colleagues to ask President Obama to designate certain Department of Veterans Affairs employees \u201cessential\u201d in the event of a government shutdown.\u00a0 This will insure continuity of service to our veterans, who served our country without excuse or delay.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://sablan.house.gov/press-release/republican-cr-strips-obamacare-medicaid-funds-nmi"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.9146460108458996, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
