Consumers who purchase these plans would be considered as having met the minimum coverage requirement set by the Affordable Care Act (ACA).\r\nAdditionally, Congressman Schrader introduced legislation today to delay penalties for noncompliance until healthcare.gov and other applicable state health insurance marketplace websites are certified as being fully operational by the Inspector General for the Department of Health and Human Services. \r\n\u201cThe rollout of health care reform across the country has been nothing short of disastrous,\u201d Schrader said. \u201cThese bills should provide folks who have lost their existing insurance plans with some certainty for the time being. However, the administration, Congress and our states must focus on getting our health insurance marketplaces up and operational to allow people to enroll in new health insurance plans.
