Due to a recently passed law, which was passed unanimously by Congress, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has reopened the application period for Superstorm Sandy victims seeking financial assistance. Homeowners can receive loans of up to $200,000 to repair or rebuild their homes, and as much as $40,000 more to replace damaged or lost items. Nonprofit organizations and business owners can get up to $2 million to repair or replace assets. The filing deadline to submit applications is December 1, 2016.\nApplications are available online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBAs secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. Additional details on the locations of recovery centers and the loan application process can be obtained by calling the SBA Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 or by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.\nVictims may also visit a New Jersey SBAcenterto apply for SBA low-interest disaster loan.
