Chris Stewart (R-Utah) and 34 other members of the House of Representatives sent a letter to President Obama expressing concern about the administration\u2019s plan to take executive action on immigration reform. Instead of signing an executive order, House members urge the President to work with Congress to reform immigration.\nThe letter, spear-headed by Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX), states, \u201cWhile Congress certainly understands the need for reforms to the current system, it is imperative that we work together to pass legislation that improves our immigration system, increases border security, and disincentives undocumented immigrants from illegally entering the United States.\u201d\nReferring to the President\u2019s impending executive order, Stewart said, \"a presidential executive order on immigration would clearly go against the intended powers outlined in the Constitution. As the Constitution states, it\u2019s Congress\u2019\u00a0responsibility is \"to\u00a0establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization\u201d.\n\u201cLike most Utahns, I recognize that our immigration system is broken and must be reformed, but the President's threat of executive orders and a call for amnesty isn\u2019t the answer,\u201d Stewart continued. \u201cIt goes against the will of the people and of Congress.
