Today, the House passed the Conference Report on the Fixing Americas Surface Transportation (FAST) Act a bipartisan, bicameral proposal that provide funding for surface transportation programs for five years. Congresswoman Susan W. Brooks (R-IN05) released the following statement:\nOur businesses and local economies depend on our highways, roads, and rails to get goods and services from place to place. As individuals and families, we need safe, dependable roads and bridges to get us from our homes to school, work, and everywhere in between without causing damage to our vehicles. This legislation is an investment that will help move goods faster, create more jobs, and encourage businesses to grow, while reforming and improving the programs that sustain our roads, bridges, and other surface transportation infrastructure.
