As the top Democrat on the House Ethics Committee, I've worked with Republicans and Democrats to push for changes that will improve the independent process for reporting harassment and protecting employee rights. With this compromise legislation, we are making clear that we will not tolerate harassment, abuse, or discrimination in the halls of Congress. Employees who have faced harassment and other workplace misconduct have waited too long for fundamental change that finally brings equal footing to our workplaces.
