Below are her remarks:\u00a0\n\u00a0\n\u00a0\n\u201cFifteen days ago, an extreme faction of the Republican Party, supported by its leader and empowered by its more complacent members, brought about a shutdown of the entire federal government. It\u2019s since brought us to the brink of an unprecedented default, and now it refuses to accept a compromise that will open up the government, put people back to work, and lift the debt ceiling so the United States can pay its bills.\n\u00a0\n\u201cAmericans are fed up with the political obstructionism and dysfunction that have caused this unnecessary crisis. With the clock running out, we cannot afford to waste any more time.
