No one will take it away, no matter what.\u201d Unfortunately, many Americans from\u00a0coast to coast\u00a0are all too familiar with the consequences of the president\u2019s broken promise, already receiving health plan termination notices in the mail. The\u00a0Keep Your Health Plan Act\u00a0will ensure that insurance plans available today in the individual market can continue to exist which would allow Americans who want to keep their current health coverage to do so.\u201cDespite the president\u2019s repeated promise of \u2018if you like your plan, you can keep it,\u2019 many Americans are now learning the sad reality that their current plan will no longer exist beginning\u00a0on January 1.\u00a0Instead they are forced to purchase health care that they cannot afford through a system that does not even work, and that\u2019s just not fair,\u201d said Upton, who is also chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. \u201cThis legislation is about providing folks the peace of mind that they will be allowed to keep their current coverage if they so choose.\u201d The bill would allow health care plans available today on the individual market to continue to be offered so Americans have the option to keep what they have if they like it.
