Included in the bill were mental health reforms spearheaded by Rep. Tim Murphy (R-PA), which were largely based off his bill, H.R. 2646, the Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act. \r\n\u201cWith the House\u2019s strong support of these critical reforms, we\u2019re one step closer to delivering meaningful reforms to families in mental health crisis,\u201d said Upton and Murphy. \u201cWe have worked to reduce stigma around this important issue, and let folks know it\u2019s okay to ask for help. Throughout our multi-year, multi-Congress effort to advance solutions to a broken system, we\u2019ve raised awareness and helped identify ways to help those around us.
