{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://visclosky.house.gov/press-release/visclosky-announces-grant-award-crisis-center", "Visclosky Announces Grant Award to Crisis Center", "2013-09-27", "2013", "2013-09", "Democrat", "House", "IN", "Peter Visclosky", "V000108", "visclosky.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Merrillville, IN \u2013 Congressman Pete Visclosky announced today that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services \u2013 Administration for Children and Families through the Basic Center Program awarded $186,798.00 to the Crisis Center Inc. located in Gary, Indiana.\n\u201cThe continued efforts by the Crisis Center to make a positive difference and improve the quality of life for the youth of Northwest Indiana is truly inspirational and should be recognized,\u201d said Congressman Pete Visclosky. \u201cThis funding will support their approach in taking the necessary proactive steps to continue making a positive impact in the lives of many young people.\u201d\nAbout the Crisis Center:\nThe Crisis Center\u00a0has been providing emergency shelter and other services to runaway and homeless youth since 1976.\u00a0 Its Alternative House is the only program in Lake County, and its adjoining counties, that provides emergency shelter for youth who are not in the child welfare system and\u00a0who may believe their circumstances\u00a0may be as such that remaining in\u00a0existing living conditions does not appear to be a healthy alternative.\u00a0 Crisis Center has become a valuable resource to those in need of safe, immediate shelter and other services.\nCurrently, Crisis Center provides outreach through 395 Safe Place sites in Lake and Porter Counties.\u00a0\u00a0Additionally, it serves more than 300 homeless children a year, for up to 20 days, and offers 20 beds for boys and girls ages 10 to 18.\u00a0 While Crisis Center addresses the immediate need for shelter, it also provides group and family counseling aimed at resolving problems and ultimately returning its charges to their homes.\u00a0\nFor more information the website to the Crisis Center is https://www.crisiscenterysb.org/", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://visclosky.house.gov/press-release/visclosky-announces-grant-award-crisis-center"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.9061128366738558, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
