{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://www.blunt.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news?ContentRecord_id=7BFC73A0-9362-4034-949E-A9DE3A44501C", "Blunt-Backed Projects Set to Receive Critical Investments from Delta Regional Authority", "2016-11-17", "2016", "2016-11", "Republican", "House", "MO", "Roy Blunt", "B000575", "www.blunt.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "WASHINGTON \u2013 U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement welcoming the Delta Regional Authority\u2019s announcement that it has awarded $6.7 million in grant funding to critical infrastructure projects in Southeast Missouri.\u201cDelta Regional Authority investments play a direct and significant role in improving the quality of life for families and communities in Southeast Missouri,\u201d Blunt said. \u201cThe grant awards announced today will go a long way toward strengthening infrastructure, enhancing safety, improving health care, and expanding educational opportunities, all of which will provide a stronger foundation for economic growth in the region.\u201dBlunt advocated for several projects that are set to receive investments from DRA, including:\r\n \r\nMissouri Delta Medical Center \u2013 DRA resources will be used to renovate an existing wing of the medical center to expand mental health services for area seniors and create dozens of new jobs at the facility.\r\nTexas County Memorial Hospital \u2013 The DRA\u2019s investment will help expand and improve access to quality health care for the area\u2019s rural communities by replacing an outdated surgery area.\r\n911 Service in Carter, Ripley, and Wayne Counties \u2013 DRA resources will be used for emergency response modernization efforts aimed at lowering response times within these three counties.\u00a0\u00a0\r\nDorena - Hickman Tug and Barge System \u2013 DRA investments will strengthen transportation infrastructure by helping to repair and improve the region\u2019s tug and barge system.\r\n \r\nLast month, Blunt announced that the DRA will invest $1.25 million to enhance the New Bourbon Port and repair damage to the Ste. Genevieve Levee District II levee caused by last year\u2019s flooding. Blunt was instrumental in securing resources for the projects, which will improve flood control infrastructure to protect families and small businesses, and support economic growth in Ste.
