Sherrod Brown (D-OH) released this statement:\r\n\u201cThe investigation\u2019s findings are troubling and deserve the type of comprehensive response outlined today. Re-establishing trust and respect between law enforcement and the community is essential,\u201d Brown said. \u201cI applaud Attorney General Holder and U.S. Attorney Dettelbach for their thorough and fair investigation.\u00a0 The citizens of Cleveland deserve nothing less.\r\n\u201cThe mission of the Cleveland Division of Police is:\u00a0\u2018to enhance the quality of life, strengthen our neighborhoods and deliver superior services with professionalism, respect, integrity, dedication and excellence by working in partnership with our neighborhoods and community.\u2019\r\n\"As this report shows, too often the Division has fallen short of its own ideals.
