Hoeven serves as the chairman for the Senate Appropriations Committee on Homeland Security, where he oversees the departments annual budget.\r\nThe funds will be used to support the construction of a floodwall and to update infrastructure to protect Minots water treatment plant from the Mouse River and maintain the plants ability to provide potable water to residents during high water events.\r\nSince the flood of 2011, we have worked hard to ensure that the City of Minot receives the support it needs to rebuild and also to protect itself against future flooding, Hoeven said.
