Moran, Booker Introduce Resolution to Celebrate American Entrepreneurs", "2014-11-18", "2014", "2014-11", "Republican", "House", "KS", "Jerry Moran", "M000934", "www.moran.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2013 Today, U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) and U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-N.J.) introduced a Senate resolution to celebrate the contributions of American entrepreneurs and officially establish National Entrepreneurs\u2019 Day as a federally recognized observance day.\r\nNational Entrepreneurs\u2019 Day celebrates the entrepreneurs who are the foundation of our country and strength of our economy. The Moran-Booker Senate resolution aims to have Congress recognize the third Tuesday of every November as National Entrepreneurs\u2019 Day. This year, National Entrepreneurs\u2019 Day is celebrated today, November 18.\r\n\r\n\u201cThe health of the American economy relies on policymakers, community leaders, academics and individuals recognizing that innovative new businesses are critical components of economic growth,\u201d Sen. Moran said. \u201cDevoting one day a year to celebrating startups is a small step toward securing future economic success and a better tomorrow.\u201d\r\n\u201cEntrepreneurs are the heart and soul of this great nation and essential to the expansion of economic opportunity in New Jersey and communities across the country,\u201d Sen. Booker said. \u201cToday and every day of the year, they deserve to be honored and celebrated for their contributions. Recognizing National Entrepreneurs\u2019 Day as a national holiday will stimulate our nation\u2019s entrepreneurial energy and inspire business leaders and future business leaders to succeed.\u201d\r\nNational Entrepreneurs\u2019 Day was established in 2010 by David Hauser and Siamak Taghaddos, co-founders of Grasshopper, an organization that helps entrepreneurs to establish a phone system for their businesses, and Amir Tehrani, entrepreneur and co-founder of The Legacy Foundation, a non-partisan educational organization that promotes free enterprise.
