{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://www.risch.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/pressreleases?ID=5735E6F1-9721-47DC-A9A1-F5659588BCF4", "Crapo, Risch Honor INL Researchers in the Congressional Record", "2016-10-18", "2016", "2016-10", "Republican", "House", "ID", "Jim Risch", "R000584", "www.risch.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Idaho Falls \u2013 Idaho Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch have honored two researchers at the Idaho National Laboratory that have been singled out for excellence by the American Nuclear Society (ANS).\u00a0 Dr. Terry Todd and Dr. Mark DeHart were honored as Fellows, the highest honor by the ANS.\u00a0 Dr. Todd\u2019s focus has been on spent nuclear fuel recycling and chemical separation applications; Dr. DeHart has been noted for his work with reactor physics analysis and reactor physics modeling and simulation.\r\nThe senators\u2019Congressional Record Statement for the two INL researcher\u2019s reads as follows:\r\nHONORING IDAHO NATIONAL LABORATORY RESEARCHERS TERRY TODD AND MARK DEHART\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mr. CRAPO.\u00a0 Mr. President, my colleague Senator Jim Risch joins me today in honoring Dr. Terry Todd and Dr. Mark DeHart, researchers at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL).\u00a0 The American Nuclear Society (ANS) recently recognized both as Fellows, which is the highest honor ANS bestows on an individual.\u00a0 These two world-class researchers are being recognized for their outstanding leadership, professional accomplishments and service to the profession.\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dr. Terry Todd is the INL Fuel Cycle Science &amp; Technology Director and an INL Laboratory Fellow.\u00a0 Terry\u2019s primary focus is directing research and development of advanced technologies for spent nuclear fuel recycling and other chemical separation applications.\u00a0 Dr. Todd holds bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees in chemical engineering from Montana State University, and a Ph.D. in radiochemical engineering from Khlopin Radium Institute in St. Petersburg Russia.\u00a0 Terry has 33 years of experience in chemical separation technologies involving spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste, holds 23 U.S. and six Russian patents, and has published more than 180 journal articles, reports and conference proceedings.\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dr. Mark DeHart is a distinguished R&amp;D nuclear engineer in the INL\u2019s Reactor Physics Analysis and Design Department, and he also serves as deputy director for Reactor Physics Modeling and Simulation.\u00a0 Mark is the principal investigator and research director for development and validation of a modeling and simulation capability for the Transient Reactor Test Facility (TREAT) under the U.S. Department of Energy Nuclear Energy Advanced Modeling and Simulation program (NEAMS).\u00a0 Dr. DeHart came to the INL in 2010 from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and he has extensive experience in reactor physics, criticality safety, depletion and spent fuel characterization, cross-section processing, and computer code verification and validation.\u00a0 Mark holds bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s and Ph.D. degrees in nuclear engineering from Texas A&amp;M University, and is the current chair of the Idaho Section of the ANS.\u00a0 Dr. DeHart has more than 100 publications in journals, conference proceedings and national laboratory reports related to computational methods and other fields.\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Congratulating Dr. Terry Todd and Dr. Mark DeHart for receiving this prestigious recognition is a great honor and a reminder of the many talented Idahoans working at the INL.\u00a0\u00a0 The men and women who do exceptional research, development and testing at the Idaho National Laboratory are greatly deserving of recognition.\u00a0 Thank you, Terry and Mark, for your hard work, and congratulations on your many accomplishments.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://www.risch.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/pressreleases?ID=5735E6F1-9721-47DC-A9A1-F5659588BCF4"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.9334869682788849, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
