It extends Medicare payments and provides for the Medicare improvement fund. The bill also provides for child and family services programs, rural development disaster assistance and emergency food assistance. The final package sets aside $110 billion for disaster relief and $30 billion in emergency aid for American farmers. It does not include a two-year suspension of the debt limit or a pay raise for members of Congress. The bill passed the House and now moves to the Senate for consideration.
