| https://mace.house.gov/media/press-releases/rep-nancy-mace-introduces-bill-shine-light-pesticide-use-federal-land | Rep. Nancy Mace Introduces Bill to Shine a Light on Pesticide Use on Federal Land | 2026-09-28 | 2026 | 2026-09 | Republican | House | SC | Nancy Mace | M000194 | mace.house.gov | mace | https://mace.house.gov/media/press-releases | scraper | WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 28, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) today introduced the Pesticide Transparency on Federal Land Act, legislation requiring federal agencies to publicly disclose pesticide applications on federal land, providing needed transparency to taxpayer-funded land and facilities. The legislation directs the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to establish a publicly accessible database documenting pesticide applications on federal land. Federal agencies would then be required to report pesticide use within five days, including where the pesticide was applied, the active ingredient used, the date of application, and the purpose of the application. "Washington does not get to spray chemicals on federal land while keeping you in the dark," said Congresswoman Mace. "Americans own these lands. If a federal agency applies a pesticide next to your home, your school, or your water, you have a right to know where, when, why, and what is being used. Transparency does not stop at the gates of federal property, and it is not optional when it comes to the health of our families." In addition to requiring future reporting, the bill also makes previously compiled federal pesticide application data publicly available through the EPA's database. The legislation includes a limited and commonsense exemption for information whose disclosure would harm national security, while requiring agencies to continue reporting the information to EPA and notify Congress when such an exemption is used. Under the Pesticide Transparency on Federal Land Act, the public database would include: The entity applying the pesticide; The location of the application, including geographic coordinates; The specific pesticide and its active ingredient; The date of the application; and The purpose of the application. This bill builds on Rep. Mace's ongoing work to bring accountability and transparency to pesticide use, including the Pesticide Harm Accountability Act and the SOUND Pesticide Research Act. Nancy Mace Introduces PUPPS Act to Shut Down America's Puppy Pipeline to Research Labs | 2026-09-22 | 2026 | 2026-09 | Republican | House | SC | Nancy Mace | M000194 | mace.house.gov | mace | https://mace.house.gov/media/press-releases | scraper | WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 22, 2026) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace introduced the Prohibiting Unethical Procedures on Pets in Science (PUPPS) Act, legislation to shut down America's puppy pipeline to research labs, protect dogs already trapped in the system, and hold violators accountable with tough financial penalties. Right now, breeders across the country are intentionally mating dogs, puppies as young as three months old, to supply research facilities with animals for invasive experimentation. A new investigation by the White Coat Waste Project, backed by FOIA records, reveals the staggering scale of this industry. Oak Hill Genetics, the nation's second-largest lab dog supplier, shipped 1,518 hound dogs to 44 U.S. laboratories between January 2025 and June 2026. Many of those labs are still actively receiving NIH funding. This is happening on the American taxpayer's dime. "Dogs aren't lab equipment. They're family. Breeding puppies into a life of pain just to stock government research labs isn't science. It's barbaric. We've already taken on Fauci's taxpayer-funded dog experiments and fought to get animals out of federal labs and into loving homes. Now we're shutting down the pipeline for good,” said Congresswoman Mace. “Thanks to White Coat Waste for leading the charge alongside us in this fight. This bill ends the breeding of dogs for research, cuts off the supply to these labs, and gives dogs already trapped behind those walls a second chance through adoption instead of euthanasia. Man's best friend belongs in a loving home, not a lab." White Coat Waste Project Founder Anthony Bellotti provided the following statement in support of the PUPPS Act: “White Coat Waste first uncovered Dr. Fauci’s BeagleGate scandal and led conservatives to the fight against taxpayer-funded animal testing. That’s why White Coat Waste is proud to support Rep. Mace’s PUPPS Act to stop the despicable dog breeding operations we’ve exposed that supply victims to taxpayer-funded labs and to ensure more survivors go from lab dogs … | 1 | 2026-09-23T09:45:16Z | 2026-09-23T09:46:14Z |

Nancy Mace Supports $490,000 Grant To Expand College Opportunities For Lowcountry Students | 2026-09-21 | 2026 | 2026-09 | Republican | House | SC | Nancy Mace | M000194 | mace.house.gov | mace | https://mace.house.gov/media/press-releases | scraper | CHARLESTON, S.C., (Sept. 21, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) today announced a $490,000 federal grant for Trident Technical College's Talent Search Program, helping expand college and career opportunities for 980 students annually across Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties. The grant will support students in Charleston County School District, Berkeley County School District, and Dorchester School District Four by providing long-term academic and career advising, financial aid assistance, and postsecondary planning beginning in middle school. The program is designed to serve low-income and first-generation students, helping them overcome barriers to higher education and prepare for successful careers. "Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or zip code," said Congresswoman Mace. "This grant will help nearly 1,000 Lowcountry students gain the tools, guidance, and support they need to pursue higher education, develop workforce skills, and build brighter futures. South Carolina's future starts in our classrooms, and we'll always stand behind investments giving our students the tools they need to succeed." Earlier this year, Congresswoman Mace submitted a letter of support for Trident Technical College's application, emphasizing the program's proven success in helping low-income and first-generation students prepare for college and careers through academic advising, financial aid assistance, career exploration, and postsecondary planning. The Talent Search Program is one of the federal TRIO programs designed to increase postsecondary enrollment and completion by providing students with the resources and support needed to succeed in higher education. By expanding access to college and career planning at an early age, the program strengthens educational outcomes and helps build a skilled workforce for South Carolina. The funding is being awarded through the Rural Health Transformation Program, authorized by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (Section 71401 of Public Law 119-21), and is intended to support high-impact investments that strengthen healthcare infrastructure and expand long-term capacity in rural communities. “Nearly 20% of South Carolinians live in rural communities, and they should not have to drive hours just to receive quality health care,” said Congressman Norman. “These resources can make a real difference by strengthening local providers and expanding access to critical services. Every taxpayer dollar should be spent wisely and deliver results, and I look forward to seeing these funds put to work improving healthcare for South Carolinians.” WATCH: Congressman Norman and CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz Discuss Rural Health Investment in South Carolina The Rural Health Transformation Program is a $50 billion federal initiative administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to strengthen and modernize rural healthcare nationwide. | 1 | 2026-09-18T09:27:43Z | 2026-09-18T09:29:09Z |

The House-passed version of the bill authorizes and modifies water resources infrastructure projects and programs of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Fry secured a $35 million increase on the federal cap for public works projects in Florence County, which would bring its total authorization level to $75 million. Additionally, Fry was able to obtain $4.275 million for water and wastewater infrastructure for the city of Georgetown. “Families, businesses, and visitors in the Grand Strand and Pee Dee should not have to question the reliability of our water systems,” said Rep. Fry. “These investments will position Florence County and the city of Georgetown to make critical upgrades to their water infrastructure, protect local waterways, and give these communities the reliable systems they deserve. I encourage the U.S. Senate to maintain these authorization levels as they stand, and I look forward to working with my colleagues in the U.S. Senate to bring these much-needed resources back to our district. ” The House-passed version of WRDA authorizes $80 million in funding for the Seventh Congressional District. If that funding stands, the legislation will establish a framework for Congress to appropriate up to $80 million for these projects in future energy and water development appropriations bills. H.R. 9497 will now go to the U.S. Senate for further consideration. ### | 1 | 2026-09-22T09:42:49Z | 2026-09-22T09:44:35Z |

Nancy Mace Introduces Bill to End Birth Tourism and Protect the Integrity of American Citizenship | 2026-09-17 | 2026 | 2026-09 | Republican | House | SC | Nancy Mace | M000194 | mace.house.gov | mace | https://mace.house.gov/media/press-releases | scraper | WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 17, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) today introduced the American Citizenship Integrity Act, legislation to crack down on birth tourism, prosecute those profiting from it, and protect the integrity of American citizenship. The bill establishes new criminal penalties for birth tourism schemes, bars aliens seeking to exploit birthright citizenship from entering the United States, and coordinates federal efforts to dismantle organized networks facilitating the practice. "American citizenship isn't a travel souvenir or a commodity for sale. It's one of the greatest privileges on Earth," said Congresswoman Mace. "Birth tourism is an abuse of our immigration system. It rewards people for exploiting our laws while millions of Americans are left paying the price. Our bill shuts the door on this scam once and for all." The American Citizenship Integrity Act would: Create new federal criminal penalties for individuals recruiting, transporting, or facilitating birth tourism, including penalties of up to 15 years in prison per offense and up to 30 years for organized criminal enterprises. Make any foreign national seeking entry for the purpose of obtaining U.S. citizenship for a child inadmissible. Enable denaturalization proceedings for individuals convicted of fraud related to birth tourism. Establish the American Citizenship Integrity Interagency Task Force, co-chaired by the Attorney General and Secretary of Homeland Security, to investigate, prosecute, and dismantle birth tourism operations while coordinating with international law enforcement partners. Designate a dedicated federal prosecutor in every judicial district to coordinate and supervise birth tourism and citizenship fraud cases. "America is not the world's maternity ward. If you're exploiting our laws to manufacture U.S. citizenship, the free ride is over. This legislation puts criminal birth tourism networks on notice and gives law enforcement the tools to shut them down," Mace added. ### | 1 | 2026-09-22T09:42:49Z | 2026-09-22T09:44:35Z |

(Sept. 16, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace announced today she signed the Major Richard Star Act Discharge Petition, becoming the 218th and final signature needed to reach the threshold for a House floor vote. “These veterans came home carrying wounds they will live with for the rest of their lives. They sacrificed for this country, and they earned every benefit promised to them. Washington has no business nickel-and-diming veterans who were willing to put their lives on the line for ours,” said Congresswoman Mace. “We signed this discharge petition because enough is enough. Combat-injured veterans have waited long enough. It's time to bring the Major Richard Star Act to the floor and let Congress vote.” The Major Richard Star Act would allow veterans with combat-related disabilities to receive their full retirement pay concurrently with their disability compensation, without reduction. Under current law, veterans who receive Combat-Related Special Compensation alongside retirement pay face an offset, penalizing them for wounds earned in combat. The bill ends this penalty for all veterans with combat-related disabilities, including those with fewer than 20 years of creditable service. Congresswoman Mace has been a consistent voice for the men and women who serve. Combat-injured veterans have waited long enough for the benefits they earned through their service and sacrifice. With the path to a House vote now clear, Congress must put the Major Richard Star Act on the floor and give these veterans the vote they deserve. ### | 1 | 2026-09-17T09:52:05Z | 2026-09-17T09:53:00Z |

(Sept. 16, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) is firing back at Kevin Reddington, defense attorney for Lindsay Clancy, after Reddington publicly rebuked her calls for Clancy to face the death penalty following the mistrial in the deaths of her three children. Congresswoman Mace responded: "I’m not about to be lectured on what a Congresswoman knows by the man whose job it is to make sure three dead children never get the last word. “Kevin Reddington spent 50 years at the Massachusetts bar, then asked the President for a federal pardon in a state murder case. Every first-year law student knows that's impossible. “Mr. Reddington is right that I've never sat in his courtroom. Neither will Cora, Dawson, or Callan. That's the point." After Mace called for the harshest punishment possible for child murderer Lindsay Clancy, Reddington chose to respond publicly. Reddington responded: (LINK) “Nancy Mace does not know this case, has never seen the evidence, and has never sat in that courtroom. Lindsay Clancy has not been convicted of anything, and Massachusetts has not had a death penalty in more than forty years. “A congresswoman from South Carolina calling for a public execution is not law. It is a stunt, and its only purpose is to inflame the public against a woman whose case is still before the Court. I will deal with that in court, not on television. My client was a mother suffering from postpartum psychosis. That is what this case is about, and that is where my attention stays." This also comes after Reddington went on national television following the mistrial to ask President Trump for a federal pardon in a state case, which is legally impossible. Mace added, “Any attorney who petitions the President for a federal pardon in a state case has forfeited the right to lecture anyone on what the law says. Mace secured multiple South Carolina priorities in the legislation, including water and wastewater infrastructure in Hilton Head Island, Isle of Palms, Berkeley County, and Beaufort, as well as expanded authorizations for projects tied to Lakes Marion and Moultrie. This totals $100 million in authorized funding for water and wastewater infrastructure in the Lowcountry. The legislation also delivers for Charleston by integrating coastal storm risk management and tidal and inland flood management. “South Carolina is the fastest-growing state in the country, and our infrastructure needs to keep pace,” said Congresswoman Mace. “We made sure South Carolina’s priorities were front and center in WRDA, from stronger water and wastewater systems to better flood protection and infrastructure built for growth. Fry. “Thankfully, the Constitution doesn’t classify being hated by woke progressives as a high crime and misdemeanor. I rejected the Democrats’ nonsense impeachment resolution. Congress should be focused on American families and advancing President Trump’s America First agenda, not airing grievances because Democrats are still upset that they lost resoundingly in 2024.” Before Rep. The bill’s Senate companion, S. 759, advanced in the U.S. House of Representatives by voice vote. Rep. Fry introduced the legislation in May 2025 alongside Rep. Mike Levin (CA-49). Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Angus King (I-ME) introduced the Senate version of the bill. “Americans should be able to easily access real-time information and enjoy our waterways safely and responsibly,” said Rep. Fry. “Anglers, recreational boaters, and all those who enjoy our coastal waterways will soon have easier access to consolidated information on rules, regulations, and navigational tools, making their time on the water safer and more enjoyable. I am proud to see this legislation head to the President’s desk, and I look forward to seeing t signed into law.” “All Americans, from fishermen to boaters to small business owners, should have reliable and easy access to crucial information about our public waterways that can be used for business and recreational purposes,” said Rep. Levin. “The MAPOceans Act accomplishes exactly that. This legislation will provide information in real time on key topics such as watercraft restrictions and fishing regulations, making the waterways safer for everyone who enjoys them and supporting protection of these natural resources. I thank Rep. Fry for his partnership on this important bill, and I am proud to see it advance through Congress, on the way to become law.” MAPOceans will modernize public access to vital data about U.S. waterways. By requiring the Secretary of Commerce to digitize and display real-time marine data through GPS and smartphone applications, the bill aims to improve the recreational experience for boaters and anglers, support safe and legal activity on the water, and strengthen coastal economies. Fry. “Relief should start where Americans feel it the most—at the pump and in our budgets. Temporarily suspending the federal gas tax will give American families much needed breathing room. I am proud to lead efforts in Congress to provide this relief and put money back in the pockets of American families.” Under current law, the federal government collects an 18-cent-per-gallon tax on gasoline and a 24-cent-per-gallon tax on diesel fuel. Rep. Fry is drafting and introducing legislation that would temporarily suspend both taxes to provide relief amid rising fuel prices nationwide. President Trump and Energy Secretary Chris Wright are supportive of efforts to lower prices at the pump and have called on Congress to suspend the gas tax temporarily. (September 8, 2026) - Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC-01) introduced the Gender Delusion Disqualification Act, legislation to ensure individuals diagnosed with gender dysphoria cannot hold sensitive federal positions subject to mental health standards or obtain federal certifications requiring those same standards. The bill amends Title 5 of the United States Code to add Subchapter VIII to Chapter 73, establishing a new requirement for “covered positions” within executive agencies where mental health standards are already a condition of appointment or continued service. It also applies to “covered certifications” where federal law or regulation requires an individual to meet specified mental health standards for issuance or renewal. “The federal government should not be handing out security-sensitive jobs like participation trophies,” said Congresswoman Mace. “Serious positions require serious standards. Ideology should never come before reality, and if the government requires individuals to meet mental health standards, those standards should actually mean something. The bar exists for a reason. We’re not interested in lowering it to accommodate delusion.” Under the legislation, the head of each executive agency would have 180 days after enactment to issue regulations implementing the new requirements for covered positions and certifications within their jurisdiction. The bill also makes clear it would not impose additional standards on executive branch employees who do not hold a covered position. “When public safety is on the line, there is no room for gender delusion. Our bill keeps the bar where it belongs,” Mace added. ### | 1 | 2026-09-10T09:25:58Z | 2026-09-10T09:27:09Z |

She ranks 5th out of all 435 House members and has introduced more bills than any other member of South Carolina's House delegation. Each bill starts with a real problem facing South Carolinians: a shrimper fighting to compete on a fair playing field, a veteran fighting for benefits he already earned, a mother demanding answers for her child. Congresswoman Mace has built her legislative record around the issues South Carolinians care about most, from making life more affordable for working families, to fiscal responsibility, national security, immigration enforcement, veterans’ care, protecting women and children, animal welfare, and defending South Carolina’s coastal communities and way of life. "Reaching 100 bills is a huge milestone, but it's not the finish line," said Congresswoman Mace. "One hundred bills means 100 times we put pen to paper and said, 'Here's the problem. Here's how we fix it.' South Carolina sent us here to work, and we’re going to keep working until the job is done." Below is a list of the 100 pieces of legislation Rep. Mace has introduced this Congress: Passed the House: H.R. 30 - Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act H.R. 872 - Federal Contractor Cybersecurity Vulnerability Reduction Act of 2025 H.R. 5235 - Skills-Based Federal Contracting Act of 2025 Advanced Out of Committee: H.R. 3455 - Veterans Affairs Distributed Ledger Innovation Act of 2025 H.R. 2985 - Modernizing Government Technology Reform Act H.R. 5000 - Cybersecurity Hiring Modernization Act Continued List of Introduced Legislation: H.R. 10278 - REAL Sugar Act H.R. 10212 - PEPTIDES for Veterans Act H.R.10145 - SOUND Pesticide Research Act H.R. 10144 - Pesticide Harm Accountability Act H.R. 10127 - TRANS Government Research Act H.R. 1009… | 1 | 2026-09-05T08:49:07Z | 2026-09-05T08:50:44Z |

(Sept. 3, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced the Removing Excess Additives and Limiting Sugar Act, or the REAL Sugar Act, to bring common sense back to America’s food supply. The legislation bans high-fructose corn syrup in food sold in the United States. "Americans are tired of being fed highly processed junk and being told it's normal," said Congresswoman Mace. "If we're serious about making America healthy again, we need to take a hard look at what we're putting in our food. The REAL Sugar Act puts American families first and takes on an industry long overdue for accountability." High-fructose corn syrup hides in foods Americans consume every day, from sodas and sugary beverages to cereal, granola, sauces, flavored yogurt, candy, and ice cream. Excessive consumption of added sugars is linked to weight gain and obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. It’s time to cut the junk and get back to real food. The REAL Sugar Act would amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to prohibit food containing high-fructose corn syrup from entering interstate commerce. This legislation provides manufacturers with two years to reformulate their products and transition away from high-fructose corn syrup. The bill would also require the Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the Commissioner of Food and Drugs, to report to Congress within three years on industry reformulation efforts, regulations implemented to comply with the legislation, and recommendations for additional Congressional action. "MAHA means getting back to real food. Americans shouldn't need a chemistry degree to know what they're eating.” Mace added. The REAL Sugar Act would: Prohibit food intended for human consumption containing high-fructose corn syrup from entering interstate commerce. Under current law, violations of the Food and Nutrition Act involving benefits valued at $5,000 or more can trigger criminal penalties. The SNAP Fraud Accountability Act lowers that threshold from $5,000 to $1,000, ensuring those who deliberately defraud the program face consequences. “SNAP exists to help Americans who genuinely need assistance putting food on the table, not to provide an opportunity for criminals to steal from taxpayers,” said Congressman William Timmons. “The SNAP Fraud Accountability Act makes clear that if you deliberately defraud a program funded by hardworking Americans, there will be consequences.” | 1 | 2026-09-04T09:19:37Z | 2026-09-04T09:20:58Z |

(Sept. 1, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace introduced the Providing Evidence-based Peptide Therapies to Improve Delivery and Expanded Services for Veterans Act, or the PEPTIDES for Veterans Act, legislation directing the Department of Veterans Affairs to study the safety, efficacy, and potential therapeutic benefits of peptide-based therapies for veterans receiving care through the VA. “Our veterans sacrificed everything to protect our country. The least we can do is make sure they have access to groundbreaking treatments,” said Congresswoman Mace. “The VA shouldn’t bury promising advancements in bureaucracy simply because they’re new. Study it. Test it. Follow the evidence. If it works, veterans deserve access. Washington’s red tape should never stand between a veteran and their chance to heal.” The bill requires the VA Secretary to first conduct a comprehensive review of existing regulations and guidance surrounding peptides and submit a report to Congress within 180 days of enactment. Following the review, the VA would carry out an 18-month study examining peptide-based therapies as potential treatments for recovery, rehabilitation, chronic pain, mental health, physical wellness, and other service-connected conditions. If the study determines peptide-based therapies are safe and beneficial, the legislation directs the VA to launch a pilot program for veterans who voluntarily elect to participate, to evaluate real-world outcomes and assess potential for large-scale implementation across VA medical facilities. "The VA bureaucracy has stood between veterans and the care they earned for too long. If peptide therapies can help veterans manage pain, recover faster, or improve their mental and physical health, they deserve the treatment." Mace added. ### For press inquiries, please contact SC01Press@mail.house.gov | 1 | 2026-09-02T09:19:58Z | 2026-09-02T09:20:51Z |

Currently, the EPA requires only two generations of study when considering the reproductive and health consequences of certain pesticides. However, many medical professionals are concerned that only tracking two generations of health effects does not provide the EPA with enough data to make comprehensive safety determinations. This bill ensures the EPA makes safety determinations based on sufficient data by requiring studies to consult data from four generations of test species, rather than the existing two. "When testing pesticides for harm, the EPA is rubber-stamping pesticide products left and right without consulting long-term, comprehensive safety data," said Congresswoman Mace. " This bill ensures that the EPA does its homework before putting pesticides on the menu.” The SOUND Pesticide Research Act would: Require the EPA to rely on data from a multigenerational reproductive toxicity study covering no fewer than four generations of test species before establishing, modifying, revoking, or leaving in effect any pesticide residue tolerance or exemption Direct the EPA to audit all existing pesticide residue tolerance determinations within 180 days of enactment to confirm each one meets the new standard Require the EPA to report to Congress within two years identifying every determination reviewed, updated, or changed as a result "This is not complicated," Mace added. (Aug. 24, 2026) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced the Pesticide Harm Accountability Act to give Americans back their day in court when toxic pesticides cause harm, following the Supreme Court’s June 25 ruling in Monsanto Co. v. Durnell. In Durnell, the Supreme Court held the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) blocks states from holding pesticide manufacturers accountable when the EPA approved a label without requiring a cancer warning. The decision wiped out a $1.25 million jury verdict for John Durnell, a man diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma after decades of Roundup exposure, and slammed the courthouse door on victims like him nationwide. “If a pesticide company harms you, you should be able to take them to court. Period.” said Congresswoman Mace. “Washington bureaucrats shouldn’t be able to protect big corporations from accountability while Americans pay the price. When Washington fails, states must have the power to fight back and hold bad actors accountable.” The Pesticide Harm Accountability Act would: Stop federal law from blocking state lawsuits against pesticide manufacturers over labeling and packaging. Protect states’ ability to require stronger warnings on pesticide products under state tort law. Restore Americans’ ability to seek damages in state court when pesticide manufacturers fail to adequately warn about the risks of their products. Require the EPA to identify and address federal regulations, guidance and policies limiting state tort claims involving pesticide labeling or packaging. The bill comes as Congress has documented serious failures in EPA pesticide oversight: nearly 65 percent of pesticides are conditionally registered before full safety review; emergency exemptions are used to keep pesticides on the market for years without comprehensive registration; and manufacturers are not required to disclose certain "inactive" ingredients, which can constitute 99 percent of a product and include carcinogenic chemicals. “You… | 1 | 2026-08-25T05:31:37Z | 2026-08-25T05:33:09Z |

The bill is simple: no federal dollars to conduct, support, or fund research on gender-related medical treatments. Not for surgeries. Not for hormones. Not for puberty blockers. "Washington has been writing checks to study how to permanently destroy a healthy body in the name of gender ideology, all on your dime," said Congresswoman Mace. "It stops now. Sex is binary. Male or female. It is not a spectrum. It is not a social construct. Science settled this long before Washington decided to spend our money pretending otherwise. American taxpayers are done bankrolling the delusion." This legislation permanently blocks the federal government from spending taxpayer dollars on research designed to negate biological sex. The TRANS Government Research Act is a direct response to the weaponization of federal research funding by gender ideology activists seeking to replace biological reality with delusion. The bill covers the full scope of gender transition procedures: surgical procedures including hysterectomies, phalloplasties, vaginoplasties, subcutaneous mastectomies, and facial feminization surgeries; exogenous hormone treatments including testosterone and estrogen; and puberty-blocking drugs including gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists and synthetic drugs suppressing estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone production or delaying pubertal development. The bill also codifies biological definitions of "male," "female," and "sex" based on reproductive systems, specifying sex is determined by whether an individual's reproductive system naturally produces, transports, and utilizes eggs or sperm for fertilization. This legislation — which honors the late Senator Lindsey Graham, who worked on the bill for more than a year and secured the White House’s support — will hold major purchasers of Russian oil and gas accountable for supporting Russia’s war against Ukraine and extend sanctions that restrict funding for Iran’s energy and weapons sectors. "Senator Lindsey Graham and I shared the belief that opposing dictators in defense of freedom and liberty is always the right thing to do. War criminal Putin is losing his invasion of sovereign Ukraine and the threat to humanity posed by the Iranian regime is dire. It is time for Congress to give President Trump the strongest tools available to choke off Russia's war machine for the good of mankind and cripple the ability of Tehran to continue sowing chaos in the region and beyond. My friend and colleague worked tirelessly in championing these critical initiatives, and I am grateful to help advance them across the finish line in the House,” said Rep. Wilson. “Democracy is presently under threat from despotism, and Congress must act to defend democracy and help Ukraine defeat Vladimir Putin’s effort to extinguish its liberty and sovereignty. The bill would make the death penalty available for first-degree murder, first-degree murder involving the obstruction or displacement of railroads, murder of a law enforcement officer or public safety employee, solicitation of murder, first-degree child sexual abuse, acts of terrorism, use, dissemination, or detonation of a weapon of mass destruction, and distribution of controlled substances to minors resulting in the death of a minor, when the required factors are met and a death sentence is determined to be justified. "Our nation's capital will not be a safe haven for the most violent criminals in America," said Congresswoman Mace."Criminals need to know there are consequences for their actions. Some crimes are so evil they deserve the ultimate punishment. It's time to put the death penalty back on the table and stop giving the worst criminals a second chance to hurt innocent Americans." The legislation establishes procedures for determining when a death sentence is justified and lays out aggravating and mitigating factors for consideration. The bill also requires a separate sentencing hearing to weigh these factors and whether a sentence of death is justified when the government seeks the death penalty. Under the bill, a death sentence would be carried out by electrocution, with the condemned given the right to instead elect lethal injection, firing squad, lethal gas, or nitrogen hypoxia. (July 31, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) today announced the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded $5.9 million to the Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL) to support construction of the Arthur E. Brown Regional Workforce Training Center at TCL's Bluffton New River Campus. The EDA grant closes the remaining funding gap for the $27.4 million, state-of-the-art facility, which will prepare Lowcountry residents for careers in advanced manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and other high-demand industries. "Our Lowcountry economy depends on a skilled workforce," said Congresswoman Mace. "The Arthur E. Brown Regional Workforce Training Center will equip students and workers with the training employers need while helping fill critical workforce shortages across our region. Investing in workforce development means investing in South Carolina's future." Rep. Mace submitted a letter of support to the EDA backing TCL's application, emphasizing the project's importance in addressing workforce shortages, expanding industry-aligned training programs, and commemorating General Arthur E. Brown. "A strong workforce is the foundation of a strong economy," Mace added. "This project will connect more residents with in-demand careers, support businesses, and keep the Lowcountry competitive." See Rep. Nancy Mace Introduces Resolutions to Ban Members of Congress from Sexual Relationships and Cohabitation with House Staff | 2026-07-30 | 2026 | 2026-07 | Republican | House | SC | Nancy Mace | M000194 | mace.house.gov | mace | https://mace.house.gov/media/press-releases | scraper | WASHINGTON, D.C., (July 30, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced two resolutions to close the long-exploited loopholes in House ethics rules, banning Members of Congress from engaging in sexual relationships with or living with any House employee. The first resolution would prohibit any Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner from engaging in a sexual relationship with any House employee. Under current rules, the ban only covers a Member's direct staff and staff of committees the Member sits on, leaving thousands of other House employees with zero protection. A recent example of a member this resolution would apply to include Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ). According to reports, while serving in the House of Representatives, Gallego had sexual relationships with two aides working for Texas Democratic members of Congress. The reports also described Gallego as "very flirtatious" with other staffers. "If you're a Member of Congress, your priorities should be serving your constituents and this country, not fooling around with staff," said Congresswoman Mace. "There has been a culture of Members abusing their power over staff for far too long and we're done watching it happen. It's gross, it's a disgrace to the taxpayers who send you here to work for them, and it has gone on long enough. Congress is not your personal dating pool. If you can't do your job without hitting on staff, find another job and leave the women you work with alone." The second resolution would prohibit any Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner from cohabitating with any House employee, unless the employee is the Member's spouse. Shockingly, there is no rule prohibiting this today. Examples of who this resolution would apply to include former Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY), who lived with as many as five aides in a Capitol Hill townhouse before resigning in 2010 amid allegations he groped and sexually harassed multiple young male aides, including those he lived with. This year, another Member has faced reports of living with… | 1 | 2026-07-31T07:49:23Z | 2026-07-31T07:50:48Z |

Today, when given the chance to answer for it under oath, he pleaded the Fifth. "Americans said goodbye to loved ones through plexiglass. Businesses were destroyed. Kids lost years of their education. While millions were dying, Fauci was collecting celebrity friends, clipping newspaper articles about himself, and writing in his diary about being the most famous person in the country. "Fauci looked Congress in the eye and lied under oath about funding research tied to a pandemic killing millions, research he used as justification to shut down our country. His agency's own deputy director admitted the truth on the record. “Dr. Fauci can plead the Fifth all he wants, but if Biden's autopen pardon is valid, he has no legal grounds to do so. His refusal to answer questions after receiving a pardon should result in him being held in contempt of Congress. The American people are still waiting for the truth about COVID, and they deserve to see Anthony Fauci held accountable." ### | 1 | 2026-07-30T07:32:48Z | 2026-07-30T07:34:08Z |

(July 23, 2026) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced a resolution to put an end to race-based caucuses in Congress. The resolution would direct the Committee on House Administration to revoke and prevent the registration of Congressional Member Organizations (commonly known as caucuses) and Congressional Staff Organizations which discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, or national origin. For decades, Congress has given official recognition to caucuses sorting Members by race and ethnicity. This ends now. Rep. Mace's resolution directs the House Administration Committee to revoke existing registrations and block the registration of future organizations doing the same. "Race-based caucuses are not about diversity. They are segregation sanctioned by the legislative branch of the federal government," said Congresswoman Mace. "You do not get to lecture America about inclusion while running an organization checking skin color at the door or advocating for Americans of one race over another. It is discrimination under the guise of diversity. Our resolution calls it what it is and shuts it down for good." The resolution targets caucuses and staff organizations: formed primarily or substantially on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, or national origin; Who admits or decline to admit members on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, or national origin; Organizes or advocates for the perceived interests of a particular race, color, ethnicity, or national origin over others. America must continue to field the strongest, most capable fighting force in the world." Congressman Norman’s amendments included in the House-passed FY27 NDAA are: Amendment 31: Ensures FY27 NDAA pilot programs expire after two years unless Congress votes to extend them, encouraging federal oversight. Amendment 32: Requires Department of Defense-supported projects to disclose their taxpayer-funded cost, bringing greater transparency to federal spending. Amendment 216: Requires the Army to brief Congress on the effectiveness of insect repellent-treated combat uniforms to improve soldier protection. Amendment 217: Prohibits CCP-linked financial service providers from being used on Department of Defense devices, reducing cybersecurity risks. Background The House of Representatives passed the FY27 NDAA by a vote of 216-212. The annual NDAA authorizes funding, establishes policies, and provides oversight for the Department of Defense and the nation's military. Many of these nations have repeatedly refused to cooperate with U.S. deportation orders, failed to provide basic vetting information on their own citizens, and left American communities to bear the consequences. These are not countries who have earned the privilege of access to the United States. Many of these are state sponsors of terror, hostile regimes, and failed states with a proven track record of exporting violence and instability to American soil. "The American people are done playing games and so are we. For too long, Washington has looked the other way while bad actors exploited every gap in our system and American families paid the price. More than 1.3 million Americans currently serve on active duty, many of whom travel under deployment orders, PCS moves, or emergency assignments with little notice. Nearly 889,000 children are part of active-duty military families, making airport travel one more challenge for families already carrying the burdens of military life. “Our service members and their families already sacrifice through deployments, long separations, and constant moves. (July 10, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) renewed her call for a one-year moratorium on new data center construction in South Carolina after a new CNBC report ranked the state among the top 10 best positioned to land artificial intelligence data center deals nationwide, even as public opposition to the industry's expansion grows. "South Carolina is not a free power source for billion-dollar tech companies," said Congresswoman Nancy Mace. "As South Carolina becomes a prime target for AI data center development, the stakes are only getting higher. We need a one-year moratorium to understand the impact on our electric grid, water supply, and ensure South Carolina families aren't left footing the bill." According to CNBC, South Carolina ranks among the top states for AI data center investment, making it an increasingly attractive target for large-scale development. The report also warns the state faces challenges with power generation capacity and the electricity needed to support AI computing. In May, Congresswoman Mace called for a one-year moratorium on new data center construction in South Carolina to give lawmakers time to put real protections in place. Under her proposal, any future data center would be required to fully cover the cost of the energy it consumes and any grid upgrades its operations require. "The moratorium sets the terms for what comes next: data centers pay their own way, or they don't come here," Mace added. ### | 1 | 2026-07-11T07:10:48Z | 2026-07-11T07:14:29Z |

The OSCE PA passed a Wilson-led resolution on fundamental freedoms and democratic integrity in the nation of Georgia – an important move in support of President Trump’s strong foreign policy agenda and against war criminal Putin’s assault on our allies in Eastern Europe. The resolution is available here on page 75. Congressman Wilson was also unanimously elected the new Chairman of the Committee on Political Affairs and Security, which gives the United States a powerful position as we continue to lead in European diplomacy and combat Putin’s aggression. Building on a successful 2026 Annual Meeting in The Hague, plans are already underway for the 2027 Annual Meeting to take place in Charleston, South Carolina. Hosting this conference in the United States would send an unmistakable message of American leadership and reaffirm our nation’s enduring commitment to transatlantic security, democracy, human rights, and the rules-based international order. Additionally, Charleston’s historic Southern hospitality will be on full display for our international allies, and South Carolina’s economy will benefit from the influx of nearly 500 people coming for the meeting. Members of the South Carolina Congressional Delegation joined a letter led by Congressman Wilson to Speaker Mike Johnson which stressed the importance of hosting the OSCE PA 2027 annual session in Charleston. Congressman Wilson previously led a letter joined by Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), Senate Chairman of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN), Ranking Member of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Senate Ranking Member of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, along with numerous members of the commission, to secure funding for Charleston to host the annual session. Stilwell, Adjutant General of the South Carolina National Guard (SCNG), demanding SCNG to drop their investigation into the eight Apache helicopter pilots who participated in the 2026 Salute from the Shore. During the event, the pilots conducted flyovers along the South Carolina coast from Cherry Grove to Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, and Pawleys Island in the Seventh Congressional District. The flyovers continued from Charleston down to Beaufort. According to reports, as soon as the pilots landed, they received a message notifying them of their suspension. Rep. Fry promptly called on the South Carolina National guard to drop the review and restore the pilots immediately. The full content of the letter can be found here: Dear Major General Stilwell, I write to you regarding an incident that has been brought to my attention involving the suspension of eight South Carolina National Guard Apache helicopter pilots following their participation in the 17th Annual Salute From The Shore event on July 4, 2026, celebrating our Nation's 250th birthday, after a frivolous complaint was filed against them. On July 4, 2026, eight pilots of the South Carolina Army National Guard conducted a flyover along the South Carolina coast, demonstrating the capabilities of the South Carolina Army National Guard and the strength of America's military to countless South Carolinians and visitors celebrating Independence Day. By all accounts, the flyover was conducted safely and professionally, with no injuries or property damage reported. Reports suggest that following the flight, the eight crew members were suspended from flight duties pending an internal investigation. While I understand they remain assigned to other responsibilities, I am concerned that an extended suspension from flight status could unnecessarily disrupt critical training and readiness at a time when our military must remain fully prepared to deter and respo… | 1 | 2026-07-10T08:20:04Z | 2026-07-10T08:21:18Z |

Making travel easier is one practical way we can honor their service and show them the respect they more than deserve,” said Congresswoman Biggs. The Improving Travel for Military Members Act establishes a pilot program at a minimum of five airports to implement priority TSA screening procedures for active-duty military personnel and accompanying family members, with preference given to airports located near large military installations. | 1 | 2026-07-10T08:20:04Z | 2026-07-10T08:21:18Z |

This project will replace 18 bridges across nine counties in South Carolina, including multiple bridges in SC-01. Rep. Mace wrote a letter of support for the application. "This is a major win for South Carolina," said Congresswoman Mace. "Our state is growing fast, and our infrastructure has to keep up. This investment will replace aging bridges, improve public safety, support local businesses, and strengthen the connections our communities rely on every day. These new bridges are built to last more than 70 years, giving South Carolinians safer, stronger, and more reliable infrastructure for generations to come." Bridge Package 22 will replace 18 aging bridges across Berkeley, Colleton, Darlington, Dorchester, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion, and Williamsburg counties. Many of the bridges are more than 100 years old, with nearly 40 percent in poor condition and subject to weight restrictions or closures. As South Carolina continues to experience rapid population growth, especially along the coast, modernizing this critical infrastructure is essential to keeping residents, businesses, and visitors safely connected. The project will bring each bridge up to modern design standards, add roadside barriers and accommodations for pedestrians and bicyclists where appropriate, and strengthen resilience against extreme weather. Designed to last at least 75 years, the new bridges will provide safe, reliable infrastructure for generations to come. "When South Carolinians send their hard-earned tax dollars to Washington, they deserve to see results back home," Mace added. Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) has already done this which is why she voted present. She moved to subpoena the names and settlement amounts back in March in the Oversight Committee. She obtained the records in May and released the names of Members and amounts paid publicly, exactly as she said she would. "This work is already done," said Congresswoman Mace. "We got the names. We got the amounts. We released them to the American people two months ago. Congress voting again on something already accomplished is not accountability. It is political theater, and taxpayers deserve better than a victory lap for work already finished." See Rep. Mace’s video with the slush fund files from her subpoena motion HERE. Rep. Mace’s subpoena motion, which passed the House Oversight Committee, demanded the Office of Congressional Workplace Rights (OCWR) release all awards and settlements paid pursuant to Section 415 of the Congressional Accountability Act prior to December 12, 2018 for misconduct by Members of Congress. The only redactions permitted were those necessary to protect the personally identifiable information of victims and witnesses. Those files confirmed taxpayers paid more than $550,000 in settlements covering seven former Members of Congress or their offices. You can find the names and amounts from the files HERE and HERE. The bill allows local governments to use Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for pre-disaster risk mitigation–eliminating restrictions that currently tie funding solely to post-disaster relief– and cuts red tape that delays proactive projects to protect communities. "Communities should not have to wait until after a disaster strikes to take commonsense steps that protect lives and property. This bipartisan legislation gives local governments more flexibility to use existing Community Development Block Grant funding to strengthen infrastructure, reduce risk, and prepare for future storms. Being proactive is better for taxpayers, better for communities, and better for the people who call those communities home,” said Timmons. “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure; when it comes to disasters, every $1 invested in mitigation saves $13 in public costs for post-disaster response,” said Liccardo, who represents vulnerable stretches of California’s coastside and fire-prone communities. A former San José mayor who became too familiar with flooding, fires, and other climate impacts during his tenure, Liccardo added, “Local communities should not have to wait for the storm, fire, or flood to hit before asking Washington for help. Our bill lets them use already-allocated funds to strengthen infrastructure, reduce risk, and prepare for their worst day before it happens.” Currently, communities can use CDBG funds for several specific purposes, but pre-disaster mitigation is not one of them. Instead, Congress issues supplemental CDBG appropriations to fund disaster recovery and mitigation after communities have already suffered damage. Since 2020, the federal government has appropriated $22 billion for disaster recovery through CDBG. Cosponsors include: Reps. He also emphasized the importance of democratic nations setting the norms of digital finance, rather than oppressive regimes like the Chinese Communist Party, to prevent government surveillance-based financial systems. Below are Subcommittee Chairman Timmons’s opening remarks as prepared for delivery: Good afternoon and thank you all for joining us today for this roundtable on how cryptocurrencies are being used by people living under repressive regimes around the world. Today’s roundtable is a little different from the typical congressional hearing. This will be more of an informal conversation. We will not keep time, and I will not be recognizing Members in any formal order, as we would during a standard hearing. Instead, we will hear from our participants as they introduce themselves and offer some brief opening remarks. During their remarks, Members may engage and ask questions, much like during a briefing – but in a free-form style. (June 25, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) announced her plans to introduce legislation to ban immigration from Somalia, Sudan, and South Sudan, protecting American communities from the instability and security threats these nations bring. Americans have watched European cities descend into chaos. Importing people from failed and hostile states has cost lives, destroyed communities, and shattered public trust in government. The United States will not make those mistakes. Rep. Mace is stopping it before it’s too late. "We will not put the interests of foreign nationals ahead of the safety and security of American citizens," said Congresswoman Mace. "No more importing instability. No more ignoring the warning signs. No more apologizing for putting our country first. America First. Always." Somalia, Sudan, and South Sudan rank among the most dangerous and unstable nations on earth. America is not a doormat or dumping ground for the third world. These people do not assimilate to our American values, culture or constitution. “We are being systematically invaded and everyone is sitting around watching it happen. Not us. We refuse,” Mace added. ### | 1 | 2026-06-27T21:44:12Z | 2026-06-27T22:11:26Z |

(June 24, 2026) - Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) is calling attention to a ruling by the U.S. District Court Judge Sparkle Sooknanan, a Biden appointee born in Trinidad and Tobago who blocked the Trump Administration from using the federal SAVE database to verify voter citizenship data. Fox News also reported Sooknanan claimed she would renounce her Trinidad and Tobago citizenship, but it does not appear she has. This is the perfect example of why Congresswoman Mace's recently proposed legislation is necessary. Rep. Mace has introduced two joint resolutions proposing constitutional amendments to address this issue. The first requires Members of Congress, federal judges, and Senate-confirmed officers of the United States to be natural born citizens. The same standard is already set for the President and Vice President (Read more HERE). The second bars any individual holding citizenship, nationality, or allegiance to a foreign country from serving in Congress, on the federal bench, as President or Vice President, or in any Senate-confirmed role, unless they formally and permanently sever all foreign ties (Read more HERE). "Time and time again, we've seen foreign-born judges prove they are not America First. Sparkle Sooknanan is just the latest example of why our legislation is needed,” said Congresswoman Mace. "If you want to represent the American people, judge the American people, or lead the American people, your loyalty belongs to the American people only. Trump awarded the Medal of Honor to retired U.S. Marine Corps Major James Capers Jr., recognizing his extraordinary heroism and leadership during the Vietnam War. Congressman Ralph Norman (SC-05), who first introduced legislation to award Major Capers the Medal of Honor and has advocated for his recognition for years, released the following statement: "Yesterday was a historic day for our nation and a long-overdue moment of recognition for an American hero. "When I first learned Major Capers' story, I was struck by the magnitude of his sacrifice and the extraordinary valor he displayed in service to our country. It became clear to me that his actions deserved the highest recognition our nation can bestow. For years, I have worked alongside many others to help ensure his heroism received the consideration it earned. "Yesterday, America honored a warrior whose actions embody the very best of our military and our country. Major Capers' courage, devotion to his fellow Marines, and unwavering commitment to duty serve as an enduring example for future generations. "Few are deserving of this recognition. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Major Capers, his family, his fellow Marines, and all those who worked tirelessly to see this day become a reality." Major Capers, a native South Carolinian and retired Marine officer, led a reconnaissance team during a mission near Phú Lộc, Vietnam, in 1967. During the engagement, Capers sustained multiple wounds while directing his men and coordinating their evacuation under intense enemy fire. His actions were instrumental in saving the lives of every member of his team. The Medal of Honor is the highest military decoration awarded by the United States for valor in combat. | 1 | 2026-06-20T06:35:38Z | 2026-06-20T06:37:01Z |

The bill would require ICE to publish key identification information for individuals released from custody who have prior convictions for violent crimes, sexual offenses, weapons offenses, drug trafficking offenses, crimes against children, or gang-related enhancements. The database would include: Photograph Name General physical description, including height and weight City of release Date of release General category of qualifying conviction The database would also be searchable by both city and name. “Americans have a right to know when violent criminals are being released into their communities,” said Congressman Norman. “For too long, weak judges and reckless immigration policies have put public safety at risk while leaving citizens in the dark. Families and local law enforcement deserve transparency and accountability in their communities when it comes to dangerous criminals.” The Department of Homeland Security has already shown the importance of public transparency through efforts such as the Aliens.gov initiative, exposing some of the most violent illegal aliens arrested by ICE and CBP. The legislation comes amid ongoing efforts to reverse the Biden administration’s release of criminal illegal aliens into communities across the country despite prior convictions for serious offenses. | 1 | 2026-06-19T06:50:32Z | 2026-06-19T06:53:40Z |

This bill creates a formal reporting structure within the U.S. government on those African nations that recruit, train, and promote child soldiers both in national armed forces, and in insurgent and rebel groups. The legislation also promotes the opening of a Department of Defense Center to help nations de-transition from militant groups with child soldiers and help those children to more easily reintegrate into their home country societies. “Throughout the African continent child soldiers remain prolific, some recruited to fight by war criminal Putin, for their home nation’s military, or even in local branches of ISIS or Al Qaeda. Ending practices of forced recruitment, kidnapping, and abuse of children to carry out vile military campaigns makes America a safer place,” said Rep. Wilson. “This legislation promotes a ‘center of excellence’ to end child soldiering and ensure every African child has the opportunity to return home and not be forced into global conflicts they did not choose.” “Armed groups and terrorist organizations across the African continent exploit children as fighters, informants, and tools of violence to fuel instability, which can threaten regional and international security,” said Rep. Panetta. “Our bipartisan legislation would strengthen our understanding of how child soldier recruitment sustains extremist networks and ensure the United States is better equipped to confront these threats.” “Combatting child soldiering is a national security necessity, not just a moral imperative. Rep. Wilson’s 'Ending Child Soldiers in Africa Act' directly targets the roots of regional instability by confronting how terrorist and criminal networks exploit religious narratives to weaponize youth and siphon resources out of African economies - while directing them into value chains connected to our adversaries and strategic competitors,” said Michael “Mick” Patrick Mulroy, Co-found… | 1 | 2026-06-27T21:44:12Z | 2026-06-27T22:11:26Z |

The proposed legislation aims to authorize the National Park Service to coordinate and facilitate Federal and non-Federal activities to commemorate, honor, and interpret the history of the African American civil rights movements, the significance of civil rights activities as crucial elements in the evolution of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and recognize the relevance of the African American civil rights movements in fostering the spirit of social justice and national reconciliation. The Renewing the African American Civil Rights Network Act would reauthorize the program for ten years following the enactment of the Renewing the African American Civil Rights Network Act. “The importance of this legislation is embodied in that one word — network,” said Congressman James E. Clyburn. “Today, South Carolina’s top economic engines are transportation and tourism. And the fastest growing aspect of tourism is Heritage tourism. This legislation is pivotal because it involves a network of 29 states that designate sites for visitation that will grow the economy most especially in rural communities. These sites encapsulate the challenges and triumphs of African Americans’ ongoing journey towards a more perfect Union. We must reauthorize this effort so we can continue telling America’s full history.” “The African American Civil Rights Network not only helps preserve our nation’s history but also strengthens our local economies through cultural tourism,” said Senator Tim Scott (R-SC). “As home to the largest share of AACRN sites in the country, South Carolina proves the immense value of reauthorizing this program. This is more than any single member of the South Carolina delegation. The rest of the state's House members have introduced just 92 bills combined. Rep. Mace has centered her legislative work on the issues which matter most: fiscal responsibility, taxpayer protection, veterans and the military, national security, immigration enforcement, women and children, animal welfare, and South Carolina's fishermen. “These 90 bills are not just numbers on a list. They represent shrimpers working to keep their livelihoods, veterans who served this country and expect us to serve them in return, families trying to get ahead, survivors who deserve justice, and every South Carolinian who expects a representative who actually shows up and does the work,” said Congresswoman Mace. “This is about results. This is exactly what South Carolina sent us here to do. We will not stop working for you. The letter was signed by 13 Members of Congress and calls for procurement of no fewer than 72 fighters per year, scaling to more than 100 aircraft per year as industrial base capacity allows; multiyear procurement authority for F-35A Lightning II and F-15EX Eagle II aircraft; maintaining not fewer than 57 combat-coded fighter squadrons; and enhanced reporting on fighter force structure and recapitalization plans. “As a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard, I know firsthand how critical airpower is to defending our homeland, supporting our allies, and keeping our warfighters ready for any mission,” said Congresswoman Sheri Biggs. “The Air National Guard is an essential part of America’s Total Force, and Congress must ensure our fighter squadrons have a clear path to modern aircraft, stable procurement, and the force structure needed to meet growing threats around the world.” The Members wrote, “The Air Force fighter fleet is the oldest and smallest in its 78-year history, and legacy aircraft have been divested at a 2:1 ratio compared to procurement of new fighters, contributing to a projected decline to the lowest inventory levels later this decade, with the fighter inventory expected to reach its lowest point in Fiscal Year 2028.” The letter further states that recapitalization strategies relying on transfers of legacy aircraft between components do not provide equivalent capability and should not substitute for modernization. “The U.S. fighter fleet is an essential and front-line capability that allows the U.S. to project force around the world, deter U.S adversaries, and protect our military as… | 1 | 2026-06-27T21:44:12Z | 2026-06-27T22:11:26Z |

Ugly voices are growing louder and threatening to strip away our First Amendment rights to freely practice our faith and to violate the Constitutional prohibition of government picking one religion over another. We must oppose efforts to spread racist and xenophobic misrepresentations that sow more ignorance and hate. The premise underlying this caucus and the measures associated with it reflects longstanding Islamophobic narratives and anti-Muslim sentiment rather than any demonstrated policy need. In their letter, the lawmakers denounced the hateful caucus and urged leadership to speak clearly against initiatives that discriminate and stigmatize against any religious community. “To be clear, American Muslims serve this nation in every capacity and are entitled to the same constitutional protections as all other Americans. They are guided by both faith and civic responsibility to respect the U.S. Constitution, follow the law, and contribute positively to their communities and to the nation they call home. (Jun. 5, 2026) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC-01) introduced the Shrimp Honesty and Responsibility in Import Monitoring Protocols (SHRIMP) Act of 2026. The legislation takes direct aim at unaccountable foreign imports, directing the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), in consultation with the Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Commandant of the Coast Guard. to develop a portable, chemical testing methodology to identify the country of origin of shrimp. This methodology has broad applications from supporting law enforcement in combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing, to improving food safety and traceability, to verifying compliance with country-of-origin labeling laws, to improving screening of shrimp at ports of entry, and bolstering enforcement of trade restrictions and customs duties. This technology would be an essential tool to protecting South Carolina's shrimping industry from unfair foreign competition. South Carolina shrimpers have been undercut for years by foreign imports with no accountability and no transparency. Our SHRIMP Act puts an end to this. It creates a verified, science-based method to identify country of origin, cracks down on illegal and unreported fishing, and ensures Lowcountry shrimpers are not pushed out by foreign competitors who play by different rules. Under this amendment, any individual holding citizenship, nationality, or allegiance to a foreign country is barred from serving in Congress, on the federal bench, as President or Vice President, or in any Senate-confirmed role unless they formally and permanently cut their foreign ties. "If you want to represent the American people, judge the American people, or lead the American people, your loyalty belongs to the American people. Not a foreign government. It is a threat to our national security and an insult to every American citizen. This amendment is simple: one country, one allegiance, or you do not serve." The amendment covers five categories of federal service: Members of the House of Representatives United States Senators Supreme Court and inferior federal court judges Ambassadors, public ministers, consuls, and all Senate-confirmed officers President and Vice President of the United States Any individual who formally and permanently relinquishes all foreign ties is eligible to serve. This resolution is the next step in Rep. Mace's ongoing effort to protect the integrity of the American government. Late last month, Rep. Mace introduced a joint resolution proposing a constitutional amendment which would require Members of Congress, federal judges, and Senate-confirmed officers of the United States to be natural born citizens. "The American people deserve leaders who are committed to this country and this country only. Where your loyalty lies is where you serve. The Merit Restoration Act would apply to all federal research agencies, ensuring grants are awarded based on scientific merit, quality of research, and public benefit, not political activism or identity-based standards. After years of ideologically awarded funding under the Biden administration, Congressman Norman’s bill would prohibit agencies from considering DEI statements, mandatory diversity requirements, or ideological criteria when evaluating grant applications or continuing federal funding. “Taxpayer-funded research should be awarded based on merit, innovation, and results, not DEI-driven activist handouts,” said Congressman Ralph Norman. “Americans are tired of watching universities prioritize ideological checkboxes over achievement. Federal research dollars should support the strongest proposals and the best science, whether in medicine, engineering, or scientific innovation, not political agendas. That’s what taxpayers expect and deserve.” The bill follows growing concerns over federal grant programs that prioritize DEI and identity-based criteria over merit. In one example, the Biden administration’s National Institute of Health (NIH) funded a National Cancer Institute program that stated “fostering diversity by addressing underrepresentation in the scientific research workforce is a key component of the NIH strategy” and prioritized participation based on racial and ethnic classifications identified as “underrepresented.” Similarly, the National Science Foundation (NSF) supported an academic conference travel award program that stated “students from underrepresented groups will be given priority.” Congressman Ralph Norman’s legislation would prohibit federal agencies from using taxpayer dollars to impose or incentivize these types of ideological or identity-based requirem… | 1 | 2026-06-03T06:40:39Z | 2026-06-03T06:42:22Z |

(Jun. 1, 2026) — Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) announced she will introduce a constitutional amendment tomorrow to slam shut one of the biggest loopholes in American immigration law: automatic citizenship for children born on U.S. soil to parents who are here illegally. The joint resolution would clarify, under the 14th Amendment, a person born in the United States is only "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States, and eligible for citizenship, if at least one parent is a U.S. citizen, a U.S. national, or a lawful permanent resident. Children of illegal immigrants would no longer receive automatic citizenship simply by being born on American soil. "The 14th Amendment was never a welcome mat for illegal immigration, and it's past time we made it clear,” said Congresswoman Mace. “For too long, the federal government has allowed a deliberate misreading of our Constitution to reward illegal entry with one of the most sacred gifts America can give: citizenship. This loophole has been exploited for decades. It ends now.” The 14th Amendment, ratified in 1868, grants citizenship to all persons born in the United States and "subject to the jurisdiction thereof." Rep. Mace's resolution clarifies the meaning of this phrase to exclude children born to parents with no lawful immigration status in the United States. Every year, an estimated 250,000 to 320,000 babies are born on U.S. soil to illegal immigrant mothers, each one instantly eligible for a full range of federal benefits. Each one is a potential anchor for parents and extended family members to obtain legal status down the line. Reports estimate illegal immigrants and their U.S.-born children impose a net annual cost of $150.6 billion on American taxpayers, a number rising by billions each year. It is a system designed to be exploited, and it has been for years. Rep. Mace's amendment ends it. "American taxpayers have been subsidizing this loophole for decades and they’ve had enough. (May 29, 2026) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC-01) introduced the Hire American Act, a bill doing exactly what its title says: hire American workers only. The legislation amends title 5 of the United States Code to restrict federal government employment to U.S. citizens and nationals only. The Hire American Act sends a clear message: American taxpayers fund the federal government. American workers should be the only ones running it. "American taxpayers foot the bill for every single federal job in this country. Every salary. Every benefit. Every pension. Those jobs belong to American workers, not non-citizens," said Congresswoman Mace. "Right now, there is no permanent law stopping a non-citizen from being hired by a federal agency or put on the federal payroll. Our bill ends this. If you want to work for the American government, you need to be an American citizen. Period." The Hire American Act requires all federal employees to be U.S. citizens or nationals, including employees of the U.S. Postal Service and the Postal Regulatory Commission. Prior to any appointment, individuals must sign an affidavit attesting to their citizenship status, and the hiring agency must verify their citizenship. Anyone who lies on the affidavit faces up to a $50,000 fine and five years in prison. Right now, there is no comprehensive federal law requiring citizenship as a baseline condition of federal employment. The Hire American Act closes this gap once and for all. The bill includes four narrow exceptions for temporary translators, emergency field workers, international broadcasters, and nonresident alien wildland firefighters under existing country agreements. The Office of Personnel Management must issue implementation guidance to all federal agencies within 180 days and report to Congress on the number of current non-citizen federal employees disaggregated by agency and position. Americans deserve to know exactly how many non-citizens are on the federal payroll and in which agencies. "The America… | 1 | 2026-06-27T21:44:12Z | 2026-06-27T22:21:02Z |

(May 28, 2026) — Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC-01) has made protecting South Carolina seniors a cornerstone of her work in Congress. From pushing strong legislation to safeguard Social Security, Medicare, and crack down on senior fraud and exploitation, to championing landmark tax relief in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, to solving over 1,000 constituent cases with federal agencies and returning over $1.5 million directly to constituents, Rep. Mace has cut through the bureaucracy to protect what seniors earned and deliver real results. "South Carolina seniors deserve a representative who shows up and delivers results, not one who makes promises and disappears,” said Congresswoman Mace. "We have returned over $1.5 million directly to constituents, supported major tax relief so seniors keep more of what they earned, and introduced legislation to make sure every benefit seniors earned stays in their hands. South Carolina seniors deserve nothing less and we are not done yet." Legislative Record Championed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, delivering a new $6,000 tax deduction for seniors ($12,000 for married couples), resulting in 88% of Social Security recipients paying no federal income taxes on their benefits. The bill also restricted Medicare and Medicaid benefits to illegal aliens. Introduced the Preserving Social Security and Medicare for Citizens Act to restrict Social Security and Medicare benefits only to citizens and legal permanent residents and require foreign visa workers to pay payroll taxes into the Social Security and Medicare trust funds. Clyburn (D-SC), Danny K. Davis (D-IL), and Steve Cohen (D-TN) led the House introduction of the Julius Rosenwald and Rosenwald Schools National Historical Park Act, legislation to establish a multi-site National Historical Park honoring Julius Rosenwald, the Rosenwald Schools, and one of the most consequential educational and philanthropic partnerships in American history. The bill’s introduction aligns with the anniversary of the historic Brown v. Board of Education ruling, which the Rosenwald Fund helped fund in its early stages, and with May being Jewish American Heritage Month. Julius Rosenwald, the son of German-Jewish immigrants, helped build Sears, Roebuck and Company into a retail powerhouse from its base in Chicago. He then used his fortune to expand opportunities for others. During the Jim Crow era, Rosenwald partnered with Booker T. Washington, the Tuskegee Institute, and thousands of Black communities across the South to help build Rosenwald Schools, which educated more than 600,000 African American children and helped narrow the education gap in the South. The Rosenwald Fund supported institutions and initiatives that shaped American life, including early NAACP legal efforts that helped lead to Brown v. Board of Education, fellowships for African American artists and scholars such as Jacob Lawrence, Marian Anderson, Zora Neale Hurston, and Langston Hughes, and support for Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The legislation will create increased research opportunities for bleeding disorders among underserved populations. “So many women of South Carolina are negatively impacted by bleeding disorders, between insurance companies failing to prioritize their treatment, and the challenges of rural healthcare, enough obstacles to treatment already exist,” said Congressman Wilson. “There is no reason for a lack of research to be contributing to the bleeding disorder population. Everyone deserves timely and proper treatment, especially those most impacted by a disorder.” “It takes an average of 16 years for a woman with a bleeding disorder to receive a proper diagnosis. That means countless women in Texas and across the United States are living with an undiagnosed condition and are unable to get the care and treatment they need during injury, surgery, trauma, menstruation, or childbirth,” said Congresswoman Johnson. “For too long, bleeding disorders were wrongly seen as conditions that only affect men, which has led to women and girls often being excluded from clinical research. As a result, they face higher rates of pregnancy complications, hospitalizations, and mortality, and are too often pushed toward unnecessary hysterectomies.” “That’s why I fought to protect funding for the programs that help address bleeding disorders and pushed back against the administration’s reckless cuts,” Johnson continued. “It’s also why I worked alongside the incredible advocates at the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation and the Texas Bleeding Disorders Coalition to advance long-term solutions that will improve timely diagnosis and care. (May 26, 2026) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced the No Immigration Without Assimilation Act, putting an end to a broken system allowing people who reject American values to walk right through our front door. The legislation requires the Department of Homeland Security to conduct mandatory assimilation likelihood screenings before approving any immigration benefit application. This bill is simple: if you hate America, you don't get to come here or stay here. Period. Under the legislation, any immigrant who holds views incompatible with the principles of the United States, refuses to assimilate into American culture, or whose presence would be detrimental to American cultural cohesion will be denied entry into this country. Additionally, if an immigrant already inside the United States is found to hold these views, they are deportable. America has every right to protect its culture, its laws, and its people. "The days of rolling out the welcome mat for people who despise this country are over," said Congresswoman Mace. "If you believe Sharia law should replace the Constitution, if you think Jihadi violence is justified, if you refuse to learn English, you do not get to come here. Sharia law will never replace American law. This country was built by people who loved it, sacrificed for it, and chose it. If you cannot do the same, stay home. America is the greatest country on earth and we have every right to protect it." Americans do not have to look far to see why this bill is necessary. In New York City, the Muslim call to prayer has been broadcast through the streets whether residents wanted to hear it or not. In Dearborn, Michigan, home to one of the largest Muslim populations in the country, the city has been accused of operating under Sharia law instead of American law. While Americans continue to struggle with the high cost of living, the bill makes it more expensive for Americans to keep a roof over their heads, commute to work and school, and have a chance at homeownership. For 2027, the funding bill provides $92.2 billion, including $434 million to support maritime defense readiness programs at the Department of Transportation. After accounting for housing revenues, $100.9 billion is provided for federal transportation and housing programs, a cut of nearly $8.8 billion, or 8 percent, from 2026. The legislation: Does nothing to address the rising cost of living by slashing investments in programs that expand affordable housing production and help communities fund locally driven solutions to cut red tape and eliminating eviction prevention grants that help families stay in their homes. Strips away opportunities for families to become homeowners or access safe, decent, affordable housing by slashing housing counseling assistance and cutting the fair housing enforcement work that protects housing choice for all Americans. Increases congestion on roads and hurts our economy by stalling supply chain networks, walking away from critical public-private investments that advance our transportation systems, keep our construction workers on the job, and grow American manufacturer and supplier businesses. “The bill before us falls short of the American people’s needs, and once again, fails to meet this country’s growing housing shortage, most especially in the area of homelessness, and our aging populace,” Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee Ranking Member James E. (May 20, 2026) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced a long overdue joint resolution proposing a constitutional amendment to require Members of Congress, federal judges, and Senate-confirmed officers of the United States to be natural born citizens. The President and Vice President are already required to be natural born citizens. This amendment extends the requirement to Representatives, Senators, federal judges at every level, and all Senate-confirmed officers, including Ambassadors and public Ministers. "If you hold power in the American government, you should be a natural born American citizen," said Congresswoman Mace. "This is not complicated. The people writing America's laws, confirming America's judges, and representing America on the world stage should have one loyalty: America. Not Somalia. Not any other country. For too long we have allowed foreign born members to hold seats in this government while making clear their loyalty is not here. We see it every day. This amendment puts an end to it." Several foreign born lawmakers currently holding power in this government have made clear their loyalties do not lie with the American people. Ilhan Omar is a prime example of why this amendment is necessary. She allegedly committed marriage and immigration fraud to get her brother into this country, is tied to millions in a Somali fraud case in her own state, and has made comments publicly about how she is “Somalia first.” She has spewed hate towards law enforcement officers keeping innocent Americans safe, did not know how many World Wars have been fought, and has stood on American soil and said the United States is turning into one of the worst countries in the world. "Ilhan Omar is just one of many foreign born members of this government who have made clear, time and again, their loyalty is not here," added Mace. "The American people deserve leaders who put America first. This amendment closes a gap in our Constitution long overdue for closing." (May 18, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) called for a one-year moratorium on new data center construction in South Carolina, putting Big Tech on notice: South Carolina families will not foot the bill for their massive energy demands. "South Carolina is not Big Tech's personal power grid," said Congresswoman Mace. "These companies are planting massive data centers across our state, driving up energy demand, and leaving families and small businesses to pick up the tab. South Carolinians are already stretched thin. The last thing they need is a higher electricity bill subsidizing Big Tech's bottom line." Reports say South Carolina has become a destination for data centers over the years and more are expected to come. Every new facility brings with it surging energy demand, costly grid upgrades, and growing pressure on utility companies to recover those expenses from ratepayers. South Carolina families cannot afford to keep picking up the tab. A one-year moratorium gives lawmakers the time needed to put real protections in place. Any framework moving forward must require data centers to fully cover the cost of the energy they consume and any grid upgrades their operations demand. South Carolina families and small businesses should not pay a dime of it. "A one-year moratorium gives South Carolina the chance to get this right," added Mace. "When it is over, the rules are simple: data centers pay their own way or they do not come here. We don’t want to see eminent domain like what’s happening in Georgia, either." Congresswoman Mace's push to protect South Carolina ratepayers is part of her broader cost-of-living agenda for the First District and the state. ### | 1 | 2026-06-05T06:35:23Z | 2026-06-05T06:36:42Z |

This legislation is named for Lainie Jones, who faced adrenal carcinoma, sarcoma, breast cancer, thyroid cancer, melanoma, lung cancer, and recently passed away due to glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Diagnosed with cancer for the first time at 18 months old, after her third diagnosis in her twenties, Jones found out she had Li-Fraumeni syndrome—a rare genetic condition that predisposes her to multiple cancers. She spent 13 years as an online advocate, encouraging followers to do self-checks and stay up to date with doctor visits. "I am grateful to support all those recovering from breast cancer by joining my colleagues in leading the Lainie JonesComprehensive Cancer Survivorship Act. Comprehensive postoperative care is critical to supporting patients. I am particularly appreciative of the medical professionals in South Carolina who worked with my daughter-in-law Jennifer Wilson to persevere against aggressive breast cancer. Jennifer's example to the women of South Carolina and elsewhere remains an inspiration,” said Rep. Wilson, Member of the House Cancer Caucus. “As a cancer survivor, confronting it head-on, with an all-hands-on-deck approach, is my personal and professional mission. With the Lainie Jones Comprehensive Cancer Survivorship Act, I am proud to introduce far-reaching legislation that better enables cancer survivors to choose their own path, provides them agency and autonomy over their personal health experiences and decisions, and addresses the entire survivorship continuum of care,” said Rep. Nancy Mace Introduces Bill To Strip Federal Funding From Soft-On-Crime Jurisdictions Eliminating Cash Bail | 2026-05-14 | 2026 | 2026-05 | Republican | House | SC | Nancy Mace | M000194 | mace.house.gov | mace | https://mace.house.gov/media/press-releases | scraper | WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 14, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced the No Bailouts for Cashless Bail Jurisdictions Act, legislation cutting off federal funding to any jurisdiction substantially eliminating cash bail as a condition of pretrial release for serious offenses. This bill puts every soft-on-crime city and state in America on notice: coddle criminals and lose federal taxpayer dollars. "Cashless bail policies are a direct threat to public safety," said Congresswoman Mace. "When you let violent criminals walk out of jail with no financial incentives to comply with the conditions of their release, communities pay the price. Taxpayers should not be funding jurisdictions refusing to keep dangerous people off the streets. This bill is simple: eliminate cash bail, lose federal funding." Across far-Left states, cashless bail policies are letting criminals walk free and costing lives: In Illinois, under Governor JB Pritzker's cashless bail law, an illegal immigrant accused of concealing and abusing the body of Megan Bos, a mother of two, walked free in less than 24 hours with no bail required. Unmonitored. Back to his home, the crime scene. In California, under Governor Gavin Newsom's cashless bail policies, a judge released a murder suspect and certified gang member charged with a gang-related shooting without a single cent in bail. Criminals walk free while California communities pay the price. In New York, under Governor Kathy Hochul, a Guatemalan national charged with selling THC-laced gummies which hospitalized a dozen middle schoolers was released with no bail required. He was also charged with selling cocaine and marijuana to an undercover officer. Four felonies. Two misdemeanors. Zero accountability. This is what happens when left-wing policies prioritize criminals over the safety of law-abiding Americans. Under the No Bailouts for Cashless Bail Jurisdictions Act, the Attorney General is required to determine which jurisdictions have substantially eliminated cash bail within 30 day… | 1 | 2026-06-04T06:38:12Z | 2026-06-04T06:39:44Z |

(May 13, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) announced the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 2071, the Save Our Shrimpers Act, by a vote of 391-18. Rep. Mace was a lead cosponsor of the bipartisan legislation, which requires United States representatives at international financial institutions to oppose providing financial assistance to foreign shrimp farming and processing operations which directly compete with domestic shrimpers. "South Carolina's shrimping industry is part of our identity, our heritage, and our economy," said Congresswoman Mace."For too long, our shrimpers have been undercut by foreign competitors bankrolled with American tax dollars. The Save Our Shrimpers Act puts an end to it. This is about a level playing field. It is about making sure American tax dollars work for American shrimpers and not against them. We will always go to bat for the hardworking men and women of South Carolina's coast.” The Save Our Shrimpers Act requires the Secretary of the Treasury to instruct U.S. Executive Directors at international financial institutions to use the voice and vote of the United States to oppose any financial assistance for foreign shrimp farming, shrimp processing, or shrimp export projects. The Save Our Shrimpers Act is supported by shrimping and fishing industry organizations across the country: “The Save Our Shrimpers Act is about one simple principle: American tax dollars should not be used to subsidize foreign shrimp operations that are putting American shrimpers out of business. For years, our industry has been crushed by unfair trade practices and artificially cheap imports while family shrimp boats across the South have struggled to survive. We’re grateful to Congressman Troy Nehls and the bipartisan group of cosponsors, including South Carolina’s Congresswoman Nancy Mace and Congressman Russell Fry, for standing up for working waterfronts, American food security, and the families who have helped feed this country for generations. Putin's recruitment schemes, human trafficking, and the forced fighting of vulnerable populations in Africa should not be financed by his illegal aggressions,” said Rep. Wilson. “Russia’s recruitment and exploitation of vulnerable men across multiple nations in Africa is not partnership – it is predation disguised as opportunity,” said Rep. Jackson. “This is a violation of human dignity and international law, and the world must not look away. That is why I joined Rep. Wilson in introducing this necessary legislation to condemn Russia’s human trafficking to the frontlines of their illegal war in Ukraine, and sanction those responsible for these heinous crimes.” Background Russian-backed entities are working to recruit civilian and military personnel across Africa to participate in Putin’s illegal and murderous war against Ukraine. The Ukrainian government has reported that more than 1,400 citizens from 36 African countries are fighting alongside Russian forces in Ukraine, including many under false pretenses. (May 12, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) today announced she has received a new set of documents from the Office of Congressional Workplace Rights in response to her subpoena motion of the congressional sexual harassment slush fund. The documents reveal $220,000 in taxpayer funds were used to settle a sexual harassment claim against former Congressman Alcee Hastings. Rep. Mace received an initial set of documents last week revealing $338,361 in settlements paid on behalf of six former Members of the House of Representatives or their offices, see HERE. With the addition of former Congressman Hastings this now brings the total uncovered to $558,361. "We were told we had all the files. Then we got this one this week," said Congresswoman Mace. "More than half a million hard-earned taxpayer dollars have been used to cover up the misconduct of members of Congress. If they are still finding records to hand over, how many more are still out there? How many more settlements are buried waiting to be uncovered? American taxpayers are not a slush fund for Congress to buy its way out of accountability." Congresswoman Mace has been leading the charge to expose congressional misconduct and she will continue to push to deliver transparency and accountability for the American people. ### | 1 | 2026-05-30T06:11:53Z | 2026-05-30T06:13:24Z |

Timmons IV | T000480 | timmons.house.gov | timmons | https://timmons.house.gov/media/press-releases | scraper | Today, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed the Supervisory Modifications for Appropriate Risk-based Testing Act (SMART Act), legislation introduced by Congressman William Timmons (SC-04) to modernize the examination process for well-managed and well-capitalized community banks and credit unions. “Community banks and credit unions are the backbone of many local economies, especially in places like the Upstate,” said Congressman Timmons. “These institutions should be focused on serving families, supporting small businesses, and expanding opportunity in their communities, not navigating unnecessary red tape from Washington. The SMART Act takes a commonsense, risk-based approach to supervision that reduces regulatory burden while maintaining strong oversight and accountability.” Community banks and credit unions play a vital role in local economies by supporting small businesses, helping families access credit, and driving economic growth in communities across South Carolina and the country. However, many smaller financial institutions face duplicative and time-consuming examination requirements that place unnecessary strain on their operations despite strong performance and compliance records. The SMART Act creates a more practical, risk-based approach to supervision for qualifying institutions with $6 billion or less in assets. Under Rep. Timmons’ bill, qualifying institutions would alternate between full-scope and limited-scope examinations, allowing regulators to focus reviews on key risk areas while reducing unnecessary administrative burden. The legislation also allows institutions, upon request, to combine certain examinations, including safety and soundness, consumer compliance, and cybersecurity reviews, into a single examination cycle. In addition, the bill directs regulators to adopt examination best practices aimed at improving efficiency and transparency while preserving regulators’ full authority to conduct additional reviews when warranted. Institutions subject to formal enforcemen… | 1 | 2026-05-13T06:12:22Z | 2026-05-13T06:13:52Z |

(May 11, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace announced the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) is moving forward with a $212 million investment for the U.S. Coast Guard Base Charleston. The funding comes directly from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, legislation Rep. Mace supported, which secured $25 billion for the U.S. Coast Guard. These funds will deliver critical upgrades to medical and dental care, roads, utilities, access control, and waterfront infrastructure at USCG Base Charleston. "This is a huge win for the men and women of USCG Base Charleston who work to keep our Lowcountry waters safe every single day,” said Congresswoman Mace. “We voted for the One Big Beautiful Bill because we knew it would deliver real results for South Carolina, and this is exactly what we are seeing today. This funding means better medical care, modernized facilities, and a stronger, more capable base. We will always work to ensure federal dollars come back home to South Carolina.” Vice Admiral Jo-Ann Burdian, commander of Coast Guard Atlantic Area, provided the following statement on the impact of this investment: "I am excited for the incredible potential these projects have to improve the welfare of our Servicemembers and their families, to homeport our future fleet of Offshore Patrol Cutters and to operationalize the generous investments being made in our Service by the American people," said Vice Admiral Burdian. “Our people are our greatest asset, and everything we do on their behalf, to ensure they are ready, trained and well-supported will enable us to act with clarity, cohesion, and purpose to deliver the outcomes our Nation expects.” The $212 million investment will be split across two separate contracts: The first project, valued at $116.7 million, will fund a complete overhaul of Pier Mike and the surrounding waterfront, delivering a modern pier stretching nearly 1,200 feet which can accommodate up to five major Coast Guard cutters. The pier will be fully equipped with power, water, fire protection, se… | 1 | 2026-05-29T06:31:28Z | 2026-05-29T06:32:48Z |

Logan was murdered at the hands of a repeat violent offender in Columbia, South Carolina in May 2025. Logan’s murderer, Alexander Dickey, is a career criminal who had been arrested 39 times, 25 of which were for felony charges, prior to murdering Logan. Dickey was never sentenced to serious prison time. Rep. Fry and Senator Graham introduced the legislation alongside Logan’s parents, Stephen and Melissa Federico. Logan’s Law holds violent criminals, prosecutors, and judges accountable while closing loopholes that allowed Dickey to remain free. Representatives Mark Harris (NC-08), Pat Harrigan (NC-10), Ralph Norman (SC-05), and Tim Moore (NC-04) are original cosponsors of the legislation. “Logan Federico was a bright, talented young woman with a whole life ahead of her,” said Rep. Fry. “Sadly, her life was stolen far too soon by a repeat violent criminal who was never held accountable. Logan’s Law is one small step Congress can take to ensure justice is served for Logan and her family, and to prevent such a senseless tragedy from happening again in the future. I’m proud to introduce this legislation and even prouder to stand alongside Logan’s family as they try to bring some purpose out of such a tragic loss.” “A year after this senseless act of violence in South Carolina, my heart continues to break for the loss of Logan Federico,” said Senator Graham. “She was a talented and beautiful young woman, both inside and out. We owe it to Logan and her family to ensure justice is fully applied in this case and to prevent similar situations from reoccurring in the future.” “Logan was just visiting friends in May 2025 at the University of South Carolina. But she left on a Thursday and never came home,” said Stephen Federico. “A career criminal, Alexander Dickey, was out on the street time and time again because of weak policy.
