Having previously passed the House, it now awaits President Biden’s signature. The bill was supported by every member of Alabama’s congressional delegation. “Albert Turner Sr. was a civil rights legend whose enormous contributions to Perry County, the State of Alabama, and our nation should never be forgotten,” said Rep. Sewell. “I am thrilled that Congress has passed my bill to honor his legacy by officially renaming the Marion Post Office after him. Moore released the following statement after voting in favor of the American Relief Act of 2025, a Continuing Resolution (CR) that extends government funding through March 14 and provides much-needed assistance to help American producers and communities affected by recent natural disasters. “I supported this CR because it is a lifeline for producers and disaster victims, providing immediate relief at a critical moment, but the process we went through to get here is a symptom of a broken system,” said Moore. “Thanks to President Trump, Elon Musk, and Vivek Ramaswamy, we stopped a bloated, 1,500-page bill loaded with woke, weaponized and wasteful spending and exchanged it for a 118-page bill that prioritizes Americans in need. Moving forward, we must reject backroom deals and ensure a detailed process to fund the government that actually works for the American people.” Key Takeaways: Funds the government at current discretionary spending levels through March 14, 2025. Provides $100 billion in supplemental emergency spending to aid states affected by natural disasters. Provides $10 billion in economic assistance to farmers dealing with crop loss, government overregulation, and market forces outside of their control. Extends current farm bill programs through September 30, 2025. Extends the National Flood Insurance Program through March 14, 2025. Extends expiring health care programs through March 31, 2025, fully offset by a reduction in the Medicare Improvement Fund. Medicare add-on payments for ambulances, certain low-volume and Medicare-dependent hospitals, and rural providers. Medicare telehealth flexibilities. Delay of scheduled Obamacare cuts to Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospitals (DSH). DEA scheduling authority for fentanyl-related substances. ### 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:07:19Z

ON POTENTIAL GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN: RECHENBERG: “Senator Tommy Tuberville is with us now. Great to have you on, Senator. Lots of talk here—some Republicans against this bill. Do you expect that there is going to be a shutdown? We do have some time here yet to try to get something done. Do you expect that to happen today?” TUBERVILLE: “All talk, no action. That’s what happens in Washington, D.C. I wish I was on a plane to Arizona to get out of this clown show—go out and listen to some speakers that actually know what they’re talking about. But you’re right. This is before and after Trump. President Trump just needs a a fresh head start when he takes over [January] the 20th. I understand today they’re gonna do a couple of stand-alone bills in the house with farmers’ disaster [relief]—which they need—and the disaster in North Carolina relief, and then a clean CR. If we can’t do that, let’s shut it down. Shut it down all the way to January the 5th. Start new, fresh ideas, get people on the same page. Right now, everybody’s looking at Christmas. We’re not gonna do the right thing unless we get this done today. Democrats don’t wanna do anything. But guess what? The ball is in their court. If we shut it down, it’ll be because of them.” RECHENBERG: “So again, you’re in favor of the shutdown if they can’t come to an agreement today? Senator, it’s great to have you on the program today, and I want to get your reaction—I know what’s being considered right now. It might have some of those really wasteful items taken out because you’ve got a proposition of scaling that down, keeping the government running, and even raising the debt ceiling to keep things running smoothly, but what are the chances that all of this will be approved by both sides?” TUBERVILLE: “Yeah. Well, number one, how does this happen? It’s failure to communicate. There was no communication, obviously, with people putting this together, especially all the people in the house. We didn’t see it until late. 1,500 pages, it should have been about 30, but we got way out of control. And I think Mike Johnson was trying to do the best he could, but he got way over his skis. He got way too much in there and basically, it’s out of control. But this is Washington D.C. at its best, just spend money at the end of the year. Everybody wants to go home, but now it’s time to put this thing together. You know, I’ve been up here four years, and we hadn’t done a budget yet. All we do is just keep kicking the can down the road and spending money like we’ve got it, and we don’t have anywhere broke.” DeANGELIS: “Well Senator, we understand that House Republicans are meeting this afternoon. They’re working on another version of this continuing resolution. And there are reports that it includes what President-elect Trump wants to see happen, which is raising the debt ceiling. Tuberville’s remarks below or watch on YouTube or Rumble. “Mr. President, Today, farmers across the country are facing significant financial losses for most commodities planted during the 2024 crop year. It’s a dire situation. I’ve been saying this for a while now: for the sake of American food security, national security, and rural prosperity, Congress must pass economic assistance for our farmers before the end of the year. That is why I am asking Congress to pass a stand-alone economic assistance package for our farmers. No strings attached. This isn’t for the lobbyists, special interests, or liberal pet projects. It would go directly to the people who feed, clothe, and fuel the United States of America and the world. It won’t even help them break even. Right now, many farmers won’t be able to secure financing and renew their operating loans to keep their farms running for another year. Again, they’re in trouble. This funding would only help farmers cover part of the 2023 and 2024 losses for American producers. For crops grown in my state of Alabama specifically, the expected losses this year are over $200 per acre. Cotton producers are [in the] worst shape with losses of approximately $373 per acre. Peanut farmer’s losses are next at almost $198 per acre. Other crops—such as corn, soybeans, a… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:07:19Z

Terri Sewell (AL-07) announced that her language authorizing a 100% federal cost share for Selma’s Army Corps of Engineers River Erosion Project was included in the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2024. WRDA passed the Senate today with a large bipartisan majority. Having previously passed the House, it will now make its way to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law. “Throughout the past few years, we have been working closely with the Army Corps of Engineers to bring urgently needed resources to Selma to address the flooding and erosion challenges along the Alabama River,” said Rep. Sewell. “I am thrilled that Congress has passed my provision to increase the federal cost share for this project to 100%. This special exception will save the City of Selma more than $9 million and help ensure that this project can move forward. I thank Senator Britt for helping us get this provision across the finish line and for her steadfast commitment to Selma’s vitality.” “Selma’s history—including Bloody Sunday, the courageous march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, and its pivotal role in the Civil Rights Movement—must be preserved so all Americans can learn from it for generations to come. Ensuring Selma’s Flood Risk Management and Stabilization project can be completed with federal funding will make all the difference to ensure this history doesn’t literally fall into the river after years of erosion along the bank of the Alabama River. I’m grateful to partner with Representative Sewell to champion the inclusion of this critical provision in the 2024 WRDA bill,” said Senator Katie Britt. “On behalf of the City of Selma, I sincerely thank Congresswoman Terri Sewell and Senator Katie Britt for their fierce and effective advocacy supporting the stabilization of our riverbank,” said Selma Mayor James Perkins, Jr. “The 100% federal cost share equals between $9m to $12m that the City of Selma is no longer obligated to pay on the… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:07:19Z

ON SOCIAL SECURITY FAIRNESS ACT THAT PASSED SENATE KUDLOW: “Great to welcome back Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville, great friend of the show. Senator Tuberville, just one small thing. I mean, nothing is small. The Senate voted on cloture for this $200 billion gift to state and local workers who don’t need Social Security benefits because they already have very lucrative retirement benefits and healthcare benefits—in fact, probably three times in the private sector. But I know you voted against it. But the Senate voted, I don’t know, seventy votes in favor of it. Why is it? Why do we wanna spend $200 billion? These public service workers—I don’t wanna denigrate them—I’m just saying they’re already getting three times what private sector workers get. Why do we wanna heap more money at [them], particularly at a time like this?” TUBERVILLE: “Well, most [of their] jobs are secure too, Larry. Most of them are unionized. But they’re supplementing. It’s a supplement, and I don’t understand it either. I don’t understand. We haven’t in my four years here even looked at Social Security to try to make it solvent more than ten years down the road because we’re running out of money fast. All this is gonna do is just fast track [Social Security] to bankruptcy. And we’re gonna get closer and closer—and we better talk about saving it instead of spending more money that we don’t have.” KUDLOW: “I mean, it’s kind of a sad tale when Republicans join Democrats and vote these big spending bills at a time when, you know, the Federal Reserve Chairman today in all of his glory or goofiness, whatever you prefer, said inflation is higher than the… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:07:19Z

Lithium-ion battery legislation? Moving the jurisdiction of RFK Stadium back to Washington D.C.? Now you can’t pay for it for 100 years, but we’re going to buy you a corvette. It’s absolutely ridiculous what we’re doing here. We should get a clean CR. Mike Johnson promised that. The two things that we really need though is we need help for American farmers because the Farm Bill’s been kicked down the road for two years. Maria, we’re going to lose 50,000 farms in the next probably six months—50,000 more and we [already] lost 150,000 in the last three or four years. The legislation, which passed the Senate last week by unanimous consent, will head to the President’s desk to be signed into law. Last week, Sen. Tuberville thanked Paris Hilton for her work on the legislation on the Senate floor. “I dedicated my life to mentoring young people because they are the most precious commodity that we have. If we get everything else right, but neglect our young people, our country has no future. There’s an old saying that sunlight is the best disinfectant. We need some more sunlight on these facilities so we can put a stop to the waste, and the fraud, and abuse in the system. I’m proud to support the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act and stand with our kids,” said Senator Tommy Tuberville. Senator Tuberville was joined by U.S. Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) in leading the effort in the Senate. It restores focus on military lethality and deterrence of our adversaries, boosts oversight and accountability, and guts funding for woke ideology at the Defense Department. “The NDAA is critically important to Redstone Arsenal, the hundreds of service members, thousands of civilians, contractors, military retirees, and their families here in North Alabama. I am proud to support the NDAA’s investments in North Alabama which highlight the region’s importance to U.S. national security,” said Representative Dale W. Strong. The House voted 281-140 to pass the NDAA on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers said the following of Rep. Strong's work on this legislation: “Rep. Strong fought hard to ensure that the FY25 NDAA improves the quality of life for Alabama’s servicemembers, strengthens our military, and supports the crucial role Alabama plays in our national defense,” Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL) said. “I thank Rep. Strong for his continued leadership on the House Armed Services Committee.” The NDAA authorizes policy and $895.2 billion in funding for the Department of Defense (DoD), nuclear weapons programs within the Department of Energy, and other defense-related activities. I mean, this administration with all this climate hoax nonsense, they almost put people under and there’s still people trying to dig themselves out. I want to thank Paris Hilton for her great work on this legislation. You know, I applaud her for using her position of influence as a force for good. She has worked hard to make sure no child has to go through what she went through in her earlier life. American kids and young adults will decide the future of this country. I dedicated my life to mentoring young people because they are the most precious commodity that we have. If we get everything else right, but neglect our young people, our country has no future. You know, I’ve seen some of these residential treatment facilities with my own eyes and I know they need reform. Right now, there’s not enough oversight in some of these schools. Some states are trying to regulate them, but we need to do more on a national level. We don’t know where the federal money is going, or who is making money off looking after our kids. We don’t understand the regulations and whether they benefit children or not. This bill authorizes a study of these facilities and looks at them nationwide. Strong S001220 strong.house.gov strong https://strong.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper WASHINGTON – Today, the House of Representatives passed the Water Resources Development Act of 2024, which includes a provision championed by Representative Strong aimed at expediting the repair of Wilson Lock on the Tennessee River. Wilson Lock plays a critical role in supporting industries such as agriculture, defense, automotive, construction, and aeronautics. The lock and dam are owned by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operates and maintains the lock in partnership with TVA for navigation purposes. “Wilson Lock is a vital piece of infrastructure for both North Alabama’s economy and U.S. national security - its timely repair is imperative to restore the flow of commerce and ensure the on-time delivery of the National Security Space Launch System,” said Representative Dale W. Strong. In 2021, the Wilson Lock and Dam's floating boom wall — responsible for guiding boats into the primary lock — separated and sank. A temporary guard wall solution was implemented, allowing limited operation until September 2024. In September, the main lock chamber was closed, and all traffic was diverted through Wilson’s smaller auxiliary lock, increasing locking time by upwards of 16 to 24 hours. These delays have created significant challenges to safety, inter- and intra-state commerce, and the economic interests of the state. “I am proud to support the construction necessary to restore Wilson Lock to normal operations and alleviate the backlog of river transportation. It is critical the lock resume regular operations as soon as possible,” said Strong. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T22:13:55Z

Strong’s (AL-05) legislation, the Strategic Homeland Intelligence and Enforcement Legislation to Defend (SHIELD) Against CCP Act, by a vote of 409 - 4. “China is one of the biggest threats to our country, and they have taken every opportunity over the last 4 years to exploit Biden's open borders. This bill will ensure DHS has a dedicated team working to combat this threat head-on. After a long four years, it’s time to make America safer. I’m excited to get this bill through to better protect the American people,” said Rep. Dale Strong. According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data, apprehensions of Chinese foreign nationals nationwide have now surpassed 64,000 since the Biden-Harris Administration took office. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has previously acknowledged that certain Chinese nationals “exploit our lawful immigration and travel systems to collect intelligence, steal intellectual property, and harass dissidents.” This legislation would establish a dedicated Department of Homeland Security working group to counter such threats and, specifically, would require the group to examine, assess, and report on the spectrum of nontraditional tactics employed by the government of China and the efforts of DHS to counter these malign activities. BACKGROUND: The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) continues to threaten U.S. homeland security, particularly in light of the Biden-Harris Administration’s open border policies. From the CCP surveillance balloon that spied on sensitive homeland defense sites in February 2023, to the illegal Chinese police stations operating throughout the United States, as in New York, the CCP has been emboldened by soft-on-China policies. During a March 9, 2023, House Committee on Homeland Security hearing, national security experts testified on the CCP’s efforts to circumvent U.S. homeland security. PALMER: “Good morning. I stand here today not just as a Congressman from the great state of Alabama, but also as a father… The case before the Court, United States of America v. Skrmetti, is about far more than a legal debate over Tennessee’s law. It is about whether states retain the right to protect children from irreversible harm. Alabama has been at the forefront of this fight. Our state enacted a similar law in 2022, and while it was initially challenged in the courts, the Eleventh Circuit reversed the lower court’s decision, allowing Alabama to continue safeguarding our children. Our experience laid the groundwork for Tennessee’s law, and today we stand united with them and 25 other states determined to protect vulnerable youth from becoming casualties of unproven medical experiments. The evidence against these treatments is mounting. A 2022 report commissioned by the Swedish government, for example, concluded that 'scientific basis is not sufficient' to continue to conduct hormone treatments on children without further research. This is Sweeden. On October 23, 2024, the New York Times reported that the results from an ongoing, ‘multimillion-dollar federal project on transgender youth’ have been buried because of political considerations. That’s a study by the National Institutes of Health that your taxpayer dollars paid for. Despite reportedly finding that using puberty blockers to treat gender dysphoric adolescents ‘did not lead to mental health improvements,’ Dr. Olson-Kennedy—the leader of the research team—chose not to publish the findings because she said she was concerned the study results could be used in court to argue that ‘we… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T22:13:55Z

Terri Sewell (AL-07) spoke on the House Floor to commemorate the 69th anniversary of the arrest of Rosa Parks in Montgomery, Alabama. Rep. Sewell called on her colleagues to pass her bill, H.R. 308, to designate December 1st as a federal holiday commemorating Rosa Parks’ historic arrest. Watch it on YouTube here. Rep. Sewell: Mister Speaker, I rise to honor the legacy of an American hero, Mrs. Rosa Parks, as we observe the 69th anniversary of her historic arrest in Montgomery, Alabama. On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks took a bold stand against segregation by refusing to give up her seat on a Montgomery bus. Her quiet, dignified courage sparked the beginning of the Montgomery Bus Boycott and galvanized a movement that changed the very fabric of this nation. Beginning on December 5th, and continuing for the next 13 months, African Americans in Montgomery, Alabama, brought the city’s bus system to a screeching halt. Their efforts were successful, resulting in the November 1956 Supreme Court decision outlawing racial segregation on public buses. The change-makers who staged the Montgomery Bus Boycott are a testament to the will of a disenfranchised people to take control of their own destiny, and their success quickly became the global model for nonviolent human rights advocacy. 69 years later, as the benefactors of their sacrifices, we remain indebted to them for laying the foundation of the continued struggle for liberty and justice for all. That’s why today, I am proud to be leading the effort in Congress to designate December 1st as “Rosa Parks Day” to commemorate her historic arrest. H.R. 308, the Rosa Parks Day Act, was the very first bill that I introduced in the 118th Congress, along with my colleagues Chairman of the CBC Steven Horsford of Nevada and Congresswoman Joyce Beatty of Ohio. The Senate’s version of this year’s NDAA includes some excellent provisions, including a 4.5% pay raise for America’s military service members. This is a pay raise for the boots on the ground, not the top brass at the Pentagon. We secured powerful, new security initiatives in the Indo-Pacific. And provisions that advance our Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems technologies. Among the Senate’s NDAA victories, I also count my amendments which will help [re]focus the Pentagon on its stated mission of ‘deter war and ensure our nation’s security.’ One of these amendments includes slashing all funding for the woke ‘Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’ policies at the DOD. Another amendment prohibits the use of taxpayer dollars for any costs associated with funding gender transition surgeries. Strong S001220 strong.house.gov strong https://strong.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper WASHINGTON—Today, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed Congressman Dale W. Strong’s (AL-05) bipartisan bill to improve the organization of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Specifically, H.R. 7177 will redraw divisional boundaries and assign counties to divisions with the closest courthouse—ensuring Alabamians are assigned to the closest and most convenient federal courthouse to eliminate unnecessary and burdensome travel expenses. “I will always look for ways to improve the lives of my constituents. That includes ensuring they are assigned to the federal courthouse nearest them to have their cases heard or to fulfill their civic duty and serve on a jury. I am pleased my colleagues joined me to promote the efficient administration of justice in North Alabama,” said Congressman Dale W. Strong. BACKGROUND: H.R. 7177, amends title 28 U.S.C. § 81 to reorganize the Northern District of Alabama by consolidating the current seven divisions into five divisions. It will transfer counties currently assigned to the Middle and Jasper Divisions to the Eastern and Western Divisions. The Middle and Jasper Divisions no longer have courthouses, so case filings in these divisions are already being handled by the adjacent divisions. In addition to being supported by the Judicial Conference of the United States, this legislation is supported by the District Court in the Northern District of Alabama, the affected Defender Services, and U.S. Attorney’s Offices. It was approved by the Judicial Council of the Eleventh Circuit, and on March 12, 2024, the Judicial Conference adopted a position to support this legislation. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T22:13:55Z

The letter demands Secretary Becerra justify this policy change and provide a prompt response to ensure HHS remains focused on its mission to ensure public safety while also respecting and protecting religious freedom and the integrity of care for vulnerable populations. Rep. Palmer issued the following statement: “Under the guise of inclusivity, this administration is forcing radical ideological changes into programs that should focus on care, not politics,” said Rep. Palmer. “This new rule threatens to undermine the safety of vulnerable populations, including women escaping abuse and young children needing care, who must not be subjected to policies forcing them to share spaces with individuals of the opposite sex. Additionally, faith-based institutions and community organizations play a vital role in delivering services to those in need. The religious exemption does not clearly provide protections to ensure some groups are not forced to choose between violating their beliefs and losing critical funds.” Rep. Palmer continued, “Pushing their radical transgender policies, especially on children, will never be accepted by a broad range of faith-based and common-sense based organizations. Standing up against the Biden-Harris radical agenda will likely result in many very effective organizations being denied grants, including grants supporting medical care. These grants are meant to strengthen healthcare access, not mandate controversial procedures that many providers, and parents, oppose. Forcing healthcare providers to administer irreversible treatments under the banner of gender-affirming care undermines both medical ethics and patient safety.” “This is another example of the Biden-Harris administra… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T22:07:06Z

Strong (R-AL) introduced the Deport Illegal Voters Act to expedite the removal of aliens convicted of voting illegally. Specifically, the legislation adds unlawful voting to the defined list of aggravated felonies under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) and provides for the expedited deportation of convicted individuals. “Anyone who is not an American citizen and casts a ballot in this election should be first in line to be deported. We must secure our elections and ensure participation in our elections is reserved for American citizens and American citizens only,” said Congressman Dale W. Strong. Under the Biden-Harris Administration, we have seen record numbers of border crossings and illegal immigration into the United States. Additionally, there have been numerous cases of voter registration forms issued to non-citizens and numerous cases of non-citizen voting across the country, including Alabama. In September, the Department of Justice charged a Guatemalan national residing in Alabama with fraudulently using a U.S. identity to vote in multiple elections including the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections. This week, charges were filed against a Chinese national who cast a vote in the 2024 Presidential election in Michigan. Interference in our elections undermines the rights of American citizens and sets a dangerous precedent that could further erode the trust and credibility of our electoral system. The integrity of our election system must be safeguarded to ensure only eligible and lawful voters are permitted to participate. “People should stop and think twice before interfering in our elections. The Deport Illegal Voters Act sets a consequence fitting for those committing a federal offense,” said Strong. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T22:07:06Z

An additional hour of sunshine in the evenings during cold winter months would be welcome news for folks on their way to work and kids on their way home from school. It just makes sense to pass the Sunshine Protection Act, and I will keep fighting to get it across the goal line.” Senator Tuberville has helped introduce the Sunshine Protection Act in both Congresses since taking office at the urging of countless Alabamians who are tired of changing their clocks twice a year. The U.S. Senate passed the Sunshine Protection Act on March 15, 2022, by unanimous consent, but then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi did not bring it up for a vote in the House of Representatives before the 117th Congress ended, requiring it to be reintroduced again in the 118th Congress. The Alabama Legislature passed a bill to permanently implement DST year-round in 2021, but legislation must first be passed at the federal level in order for the state law to take effect. Community care is essential to veterans across the country, specifically those in rural areas. In the piece, Senator Tuberville calls for slashing the bureaucratic red tape keeping veterans from receiving the pivotal care they deserve and emphasizes the need to change course before it is too late. Read excerpts from the piece below or here. “Over the last four years, the Biden-Harris administration has made it clear its priorities lie anywhere but with America’s military service members. It was apparent in the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal that left 13 service members dead. It was obvious when the Department of Defense forced extreme DEI requirements on our troops and discharged service members who had legitimate concerns about taking the COVID-19 vaccine. We hear it time and again with the White House’s rhetoric that now has us teetering on the brink of another World War — an event which would drag our sons and daughters into more foreign wars on behalf of interests that are not our own. Which is why it comes as no surprise that the Biden-Harris administration is severely limiting veterans’ access to timely care. Access to community care is an essential health care option that can meet the various needs and circumstances for our veterans — especially those living in rural areas. The Community Care Network allows veterans to seek care from a provider who may be closer to the veteran in proximity than the nearest Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facility, or who may have a shorter wait time than a comparable provider in the VA. It’s something that the brave men and women who have served our country need more access to, not less.” Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate … 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T18:55:29Z

This funding will help communities across Alabama upgrade water infrastructure that is essential to safely managing wastewater and drinking water in our homes, schools, and businesses. “I voted for the Biden-Harris Infrastructure Law because it promised to make the largest investment in wastewater and drinking water infrastructure in our nation’s history,” said Rep. She was 88, and I thank God I had her as long as I did. I was with her a couple of days last week and before I left her to go out of town Thursday morning, I told her I loved her and she told me that she loved me. She was the best mom a son could possibly have. Even though she was 88, I would have liked to have had her much, much longer. To be honest, it is especially tough, as I am an only child, and lost my dad three years ago. Thankfully, I have the strong arm of the Lord Jesus to cling to. It is also comforting to know she had a faith in Christ Jesus and she is reunited with my dad, whom she loved so much. She was quite a lady, and very proper, and always wanted to do things first class. She, along with my dad, were my biggest cheerleaders. I look forward to seeing both of them again. I love you Mom! Recently I was reminded of the song: "He is mine I am His" I want to share the words as it has given me great encouragement. It was written by a fellow Winston Countian, GT Speer back in 1965. He Is Mine & I Am His Forever GT Speer Verse 1: God’s amazing grace sent down from Heaven Rescued me from death and from shame Opened up my eyes and brought salvation Now I’m His, praise His holy name Chorus: Now I know ( I know) He is mine (that He’s mine) I am His forever (I’m His forever) He is leading me along life’s way (along life’s way) He’ll be holding to my hand (to my hand) When I cross death’s river (When I cross death’s river) He will take the sting of death away (death’s sting away) Verse 2: ‘Tis so sweet just to know I have Jesus with me He will keep me from sin and from strife He delivered me from condemnation Now I have eternal life Repeat Chorus Bridge: He’ll be holding to my hand (to my hand) When I cross death’s river (When I cross death’s river) He will take the sting of death away (death’s sting away) Tag: H… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:57:20Z

Barry Moore (AL-02), Rep. Terri Sewell (AL-07), and Rep. Jake Ellzey (TX-06) introduced legislation to expand opportunities for Veteran-owned small businesses. This legislation amends the Small Business Act to include surviving children in the definition of small business concern owned and controlled by service-disabled Veterans. This would allow the children of deceased service-disabled Veteran small business owners to temporarily run the business for a transition period of no more than three years after the Veteran small business owner passes away. “As a Veteran and former small business owner, I know that these businesses are the lifeblood of families and communities,” said Congressman Moore. “This vital legislation allows these family businesses to gracefully transition without losing their service-disabled Veteran owned small business designation and encourages them to hire another service-disabled Veteran in the future." “We must do all that we can to support our Veterans, especially those who experience disabilities related to their service. This legislation makes an important update to federal law to support small businesses owned by service-disabled Veterans and their families. I’m grateful for the partnership of Congressman Moore on this issue.” - Congresswoman Terri Sewell "This bill addresses a significant gap in the current Small Business Act by recognizing the critical role that adult children often play in service-disabled Veteran-owned small businesses," said Congressman Jake Ellzey. "By expanding the definition to include surviving children, we are ensuring that the legacy of our Veterans can continue through their families, providing much-needed stability for these businesses and the communities they serve. This legislation honors the sacrifices of our Veterans while supporting their families.” “Small businesses like ours are the backbone of every American community. Sewell S001185 sewell.house.gov sewell https://sewell.house.gov/press-releases scraper Washington D.C. — Today, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell (AL-07) announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is awarding $43.9 million to the State of Alabama to support lead pipe replacement and ensure clean, safe drinking water for Alabama communities. She also announced the finalization of a new EPA rule to eliminate all lead pipes in Alabama’s drinking water systems within the next 10 years. The new rule and funding are part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to replacing every lead pipe in America within a decade. They were made possible by President Biden’s historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Rep. Sewell was the only member of Alabama’s congressional delegation to vote in favor of the law. “For too long, our most vulnerable Alabamians have had their health and well-being threatened by exposure to lead-contaminated drinking water,” said Rep. Sewell. “But thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration, we are finally putting an end to this historic injustice. As the only Member of Congress from Alabama to vote in favor of President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, I am thrilled that Alabama will be receiving this monumental investment to replace dangerous lead pipes and improve the safety of our drinking water supply. We are so grateful to have an administration that is committed to ensuring every family has clean air to breathe and clean water to drink.” Lead in drinking water irreparably harms the health of children and adults and disproportionately impacts lower-income communities and communities of color. Legacy lead pipes, which have delivered drinking water to homes for decades, have exposed generations of Americans to toxic lead and will continue to do so until they are removed. The $43.9 million announced today will flow through Alabama’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) and is available to support lead pipe replacement and inventory projects. 49% of the funding must be provided to disadvantaged communities as grant funding or principal forgiveness that does n… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:57:20Z

Excerpts from Senator Tuberville’s interview can be found below, and his full remarks can be found on YouTube or Rumble. ON MAYORKAS CLAIMING FEMA IS OUT OF MONEY ASMAN: “Senator, thanks so much for being here. Appreciate it. You know, there’s a big question about whether the administration is contradicting itself now based on what they’ve said before about 1.) whether FEMA has enough money to deal with all these crises, these emergencies, and 2.) whether or not they waylaid a lot of that money for spending on migrants.” “So, it was pretty frank. He said, ‘We don’t have the funds to make it through the season.’ Now the question is, why? Senator, on the one hand, they’re saying this. On the other hand, they say exactly the opposite. I leave it to you now to try to figure out what’s going on here.” TUBERVILLE: “Well, our country is in a mess and we are in a mess. And this administration, David, has no clue what they’re doing. I’ve been in the Senate now for going on four years, and it’s been like this the entire time. The dysfunctional rule would impose one-size-fits-all requirements on how state departments of transportations (DOT) and cities report and measure greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on the highway system. This rule requires cities and state DOTs to set declining targets for GHG emissions, which is a huge burden for rural states, like Alabama. However, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) appealed the decision, and it remains under further consideration. “Congress considered, and ultimately rejected, providing [FHWA] with the authority to issue a GHG performance measure regulation, but [FHWA] contorted ancillary existing authorities to impose one anyway,” the members argued. “In doing so, [FHWA] impermissibly usurped the Legislative Branch’s authority and promulgated the GHG performance measure without statutory authority delegated by Congress. “Put simply, when [FHWA] established a GHG performance measure regulation, it exceeded the powers Congress authorized. And it did so both at the expense of separation of powers and in violation of the Administrative Procedures Act,” continued the members. The brief argues Congress debated and rejected granting FHWA the authority to issue GHG performance measure rules and the FHWA then intentionally misconstrued Congressional intent to justify its improper exercise of authority. It also argues the rulemaking is not consistent with recent Supreme Court decisions paring back Executive Branch overreach, and FHWA is bypassing principles of federalism to further its own policy agenda. Excerpts from Senator Tuberville’s remarks can be found below, and his complete remarks can be found here. “When you ask John Vick of Andalusia where his desire to serve in the military began, he traces it back to when he was just seven years old. Growing up near a depot in the small town of Red Level, John recalls watching the train bring in flag-draped caskets of American soldiers killed in war. He was touched by the patriotism of his local community to honor each of these soldiers who’d made the ultimate sacrifice. This experience not only created a desire to serve in the military, but to ensure that the sacrifices of America’s heroes are never forgotten.” “After graduating from Andalusia High School, John received a full Navy ROTC scholarship, which he used to attend Auburn University. There, he earned a degree in mechanical engineering in 1962, and was commissioned into the Navy that same year. John rose through the ranks to become a Navy Lieutenant before returning home to Covington County in 1966.” “In 2019, John founded the Covington Veterans Foundation where he continues this spirit of patriotism that was instilled in him as a child. Thanks to John’s efforts, CVF has been able to display more than 600 veteran banners throughout the City of Andalusia. He has also served for a number of years as chairman of the board of Southern National Corporation and has served on the board of CCB Community Bank for more than 45 years. Additionally, John is an active member of the Andalusia Lions Club and First Methodist Church of Andalusia. We’re unrealistically expecting our infrastructure along waterways to continue operating, many past their intended lifespan, without making significant investments in their condition. This threatens to disrupt our supply chain and hurts businesses up and down the rivers who depend upon navigable waterways. Three years ago, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden forced taxpayers to foot the bill for the $1.2 trillion infrastructure deal. BBBB’s annual “Sistah Strut” walk to fight breast cancer will take place Saturday, September 28th at Legion Field. Watch it on YouTube here. Rep. Sewell: Mr. Speaker, I rise to recognize the exemplary and extraordinary work of Ms. Brenda Phillips-Hong, the founder of Brenda's Brown Bosom Buddies in Birmingham, Alabama, ahead of her annual ‘Sistah Strut’ walk to fight breast cancer. A survivor herself, Ms. Brenda's organization is dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating on behalf of breast cancer for minority, low-income, and underserved women and men. Not only does it provide a support system for patients, her organization also helps to connect them to transportation to and from treatments. Ms. Brenda's work has changed countless lives in Birmingham and in Jefferson County, particularly for Black women who are 40% more likely to die from breast cancer than white women. We are so grateful that she has decided to turn her pain into purpose and use her own story to make a difference in the lives of so many. As we prepare to observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, let us remember that early detection is our best protection. I ask my colleagues to join me in recognizing the amazing work of breast cancer survivor and community leader Ms. Brenda Phillips-Hong. May this year's Sistah Strut walk be the best one ever. The legislation would close a loophole in current law that the Biden-Harris administration took advantage of to grant amnesty to illegal aliens who entered the United States without inspection or overstayed a visa. “The Biden-Harris Administration’s unprecedented and blatant mass amnesty agenda and abuse of parole is wrong, irresponsible, and puts the safety and security of all Americans at risk. The Visa Integrity Preservation Act would prevent the Administration from abusing nonimmigrant visas as a tool to grant amnesty—pouring even more fuel on their catastrophic border crisis. She called on Congress to pass common sense measures to keep weapons out of dangerous hands, including universal background checks, red flag laws, and a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. She also called on officials in the State of Alabama to reverse the 2022 permitless carry law which has allowed for the unchecked proliferation of guns on the streets of Alabama. Rep. In the piece, Senator Tuberville called for the Senate to get to work on passing a Farm Bill that will give our farmers the help they so desperately need. Earlier this week, Senator Tuberville spoke on the Senate floor demanding the Biden-Harris administration protect farmers amidst historic inflation. Also, he spoke on the need for Congress to consider supplemental appropriations for the rapidly deteriorating agricultural sector. Considering the dire state of the ag economy, additional funds would not go into producers’ pockets, but would help provide certainty to their cash flows, allowing them to renew farm loans and put a crop in the ground next year. Read excerpts of the piece below or here. “America’s farmers and producers are the backbone of our nation’s agricultural economy and food security. Despite their critical role in our lives – to feed, clothe, and fuel not only the United States but the entire world – our farmers are struggling to survive. The current state of the agricultural economy is bleak. Input costs are rising, commodity prices are falling, and our farmers cannot break even, much less make a profit. According to the Department of Agriculture, net farm income this year is projected to decline 4.4% from 2023. This follows a shocking 19.5% decline from 2022, which means farm income has seen a drastic 23% decline from just two years ago. These figures represent over $40 billion in lost revenue for America’s hardworking producers, the largest two-year decline ever. They’re first class, they’re professional, they work hard. It’s a numbers game. But this report goes back to leadership. Leadership of the Secret Service, leadership of the FBI, leadership of the CIA. It changed back during the Democratic-controlled White House back in early 2010, 2011 when they took people that actually worked in these areas and they put in bureaucrats and they put these bureaucrats in and they totally changed all 3 or 4 of these entities in terms of how things are run. The bill will now head to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law. “We’d like to believe we live in a country where no one would take advantage of our veterans, but sadly it does happen. What’s worse is if the money that was lost to fraud is never returned. This bill attempts to help right that wrong by ensuring a veteran’s estate can be reimbursed for any funds that were lost to fraud should the veteran pass away before the funds have been reimbursed. It’s my priority to find ways to make the government work better for the American people, and this bill is a small step toward doing just that for our veterans,” said Senator Tuberville. BACKGROUND: As Alabama’s voice on the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Senator Tuberville has introduced multiple pieces of targeted legislation to help veterans and their families, including the Supporting Families of the Fallen Act that was signed into law in 2022. Senator Tuberville originally introduced the Restoring Benefits to Defrauded Veterans Act with Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) in 2022, and then reintroduced it again this Congress in February 2023. Under current law, if a veteran passes away before the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General (VA OIG) has determined that the veteran was defrauded of his or her benefits, the funds are not distributed to the veteran’s family or estate. This legislation would change that statute to allow a deceased beneficiary’s estate to receive reissued funds. Specifically, the Restoring Benefits to Defrauded Veterans Act would: Require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to reissue misused benefits to a beneficiary’s estate in cases where the beneficiary predeceased reissuance. Provide reissued benefits to either the veteran’s estate, successor, or next inheritor. This legislation would have amended the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require proof of United States citizenship to register an individual to vote in elections for Federal office. Moore is a co-sponsor of this legislation. Since the beginning of the Biden-Harris Administration, more than eight million illegal aliens have entered our country. This legislation would require sanctions on all past and future members of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s National Congress and their immediate family members. The sanctions would last until the CCP ends its theft of American intellectual property, ends its genocide of Uyghur Muslims, ends its incursions into Taiwan and stops its human rights abuses in Hong Kong. “The CCP has already proven they are willing to commit any human rights violation necessary to become the world's number one superpower,” said Moore. “Sanctioning the most trusted members of President Xi’s inner circle condemns these atrocities and holds the CCP accountable."
