The report highlights his legislative achievements, community advocacy and successful constituent casework wins – underscoring Stanton’s commitment to service Arizona’s Fourth Congressional District. The report is available HERE. “My focus has always been meeting the challenges we have here at home – whether that’s fighting to protect Arizona’s water resources, investing in our infrastructure, expanding opportunities for Valley businesses or working to advance smart and sustainable border and immigration policy. Even with the gridlock in Washington, I’m glad to report that we’ve been able to get big things done in Congress to strengthen Arizona’s economy and future,” Stanton said. This will be Congressman Biggs’s second term as Chairman and his third term as the Subcommittee’s highest ranking Republican. Congressman Biggs issued the following statement: “It’s an honor to serve once again as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance. We’ve worked diligently to expose the radical Biden-Harris regime’s weaponization of federal law enforcement agencies against law-abiding Americans and soft-on-crime and illegal alien policies that made our communities more dangerous. The American people demand change from the inside out, and the Subcommittee is ready to get back to work in January. “The Crime and Federal Government Surveillance Subcommittee wouldn’t be the workhorse we are without my colleagues and staff. I look forward to working alongside Chairman Jordan, members of the Subcommittee, and President Trump to advance policies that will make American communities safe once again.” 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:07:19Z

That being said, this week is a strong reminder that the budget process in Washington is broken. https://gosar.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=8686 Gosar Statement on Senate Passage of Veterans Expedited TSA Screening Legislation 2024-12-20 2024 2024-12 Republican House AZ Paul A. Gosar G000565 gosar.house.gov gosar https://gosar.house.gov/news/documentquery.aspx scraper Washington, D.C. -- Congressman Paul Gosar issued the following statement after the Senate passed H.R. 7365, the Veterans Expedited TSA Screening (VETS) Safe Travel Act, bipartisan legislation introduced by Congressman Gosar that would provide expedited security screening under the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) PreCheck program to severely injured or disabled veterans free of charge: “I am very pleased that my bipartisan and common-sense bill passed the Senate expeditiously and will now be sent to Mr. Biden’s desk for signature and enactment. No American veteran, particularly disabled veterans, should be hassled at our airports. With successful passage in the Senate, the VETS Safe Travel Act is one step closer to becoming law,” stated Congressman Gosar. Background: Congressman Gosar introduced the VETS Safe Travel Act on February 15, 2024 and the legislation successfully passed the House of Representatives on December 10, 2024. On December 19, 2024, the legislation passed the Senate in an expedited procedure requiring unanimous consent. Under the VETS Safe Travel Act, the Department of Veterans Affairs would certify that a veteran is severely injured and therefore eligible to apply for the TSA PreCheck program free of charge. TSA would process the veteran’s application, granting access to TSA PreCheck program provided they successfully pass the necessary background check and interview process. Greg Stanton today applauded the finalized $407 million CHIPS Act investment in Amkor, a Tempe-based semiconductor packaging and testing company. The funding is a $7 million increase over the $400 million announced earlier this year. This funding will support Amkor’s investment of approximately $2 billion and 2,000 jobs in a greenfield project in Peoria, Arizona, which will provide full end-to-end advanced packaging for the world’s most advanced semiconductors for applications in high-performance computing, AI, communications, and automotive end markets. It has been standard for American semiconductor companies to ship their product overseas for packaging—now they will be able to package and test their essential chips domestically, enabling the full cycle of chip manufacturing to occur within the United States. “Arizona companies continue to dominate America’s semiconductor industry. This latest CHIPS investment in Amkor creates new jobs and strengthens our economy, national security, and critical supply chains by keeping semiconductors in Arizona for packaging,” said Congressman Stanton. “The entire process of designing, gathering materials, producing, and testing advanced semiconductors will all happen right here at home.” 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:07:19Z

Congressman Biggs issued the following statement on the House’s passage of his legislation: “Today’s passage of Midnight Rules Relief Act will make it easier for Congress to check the unelected bureaucrats who have been feverishly writing new federal rules before the end of the Biden Administration. In 2024 alone, the Biden Administration has imposed more than $1.34 trillion in regulatory costs, and that number will continue to grow until they leave office. Many of these rules are out of step with the mandate the American people gave us in November, and the tools provided under this Act will allow them to be swiftly addressed. “The Midnight Rules Relief Act will allow Congress and President Trump’s incoming Administration to follow through on our promises to rein in the out-of-control bureaucracy and return power to the American people and those they elect. “I look forward to reintroducing this bill immediately upon returning to Washington, D.C., for the 119th Congress and working with my colleagues—in both the legislative and executive branches—to break down the massive administrative state that has been propped up by Joe Biden and his cronies.” 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:07:19Z

Ciscomani was joined by Reps. Ryan Zinke (MT-01), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03), and Don Davis (NC-01). A companion bill was introduced in the Senate by Sens. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN). "In southern Arizona, and across the United States, there is a critical need for additional housing,” said Congressman Ciscomani. “However, the current shortage of skilled workers is driving construction costs higher and causing project delays, limiting supply and leading to even higher home prices. This bill will expand access to construction training programs at community colleges, junior colleges, and trade schools to bolster the workforce of skilled construction workers, support high-demand, well-paying jobs for students, and increase the supply of housing units in order to make housing more affordable for everyone.” “Owning a home is a part of the American dream that has become out of reach for too many in our country and especially in Montana,” said Congressman Zinke. “Skilled labor shortages are affecting every industry. In the housing market, it is leading to fewer homes being built, which drives up the cost of the homes already on the market. This legislation will support programs that train much-needed laborers which will benefit both the students who will learn skills that can earn them a stable income and the economy. I want to thank Congressman Ciscomani, Congresswoman Gluesenkamp Perez, and Congressman Davis for their work on this important legislation.” “Many communities are facing acute labor shortages in construction trades, but in order to bring down the cost of housing we need to build more housing. The bill enables the exploration of constructing additional pumped storage hydropower facilities in the Salt River reservoir system to keep energy costs low for Arizonans, help stabilize the state’s electric grid during peak demand and boost the supply of affordable and reliable energy. Co-sponsor Rep. Greg Stanton (AZ-04) was an important champion for furthering the implementation of innovative development for Arizona’s critical resources. U.S. Senators Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) introduced companion legislation in the Senate in March, S.739, which now heads to the President’s desk where it awaits his signature. As a refresher, pumped storage hydroelectricity allows water to be pumped from a lower reservoir to an upper reservoir when energy demand is low. When energy demand is high and power is needed on the grid, the upper reservoir is released downhill back into the lower reservoir and run through hydropower turbines which can generate up to 10-12 hours of reliable energy. “Once again, Arizona has proven to lead the charge to deliver innovation and make life more efficient for Arizonans at a time when our state’s economy and population continue to explode,” said Rep. Schweikert. “The near unanimous support for this legislation proves that America is ready to embrace long-term energy storage technologies to expand the supply of affordable and reliable energy for our communities. I’m incredibly thankful for my friend and colleague, Rep. Stanton, who’s been crucial to this process of embracing innovation, and I’m looking forward to seeing this technology benefit Arizona.” “I’m thrilled to see the Senate pass our bipartisan bill to help facilitate the innovative development of additional pumped-storage hydropower along the Salt River. The bill previously passed the Senate and was approved by the House of Representatives by a vote of 399-18 and is now headed to the President’s desk, where it is expected to be signed into law. WRDA is a legislative package that is passed every two-years to authorize the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Civil Works Program to carry out critical infrastructure projects that improve our nation’s ports and harbors, inland waterways navigation, storm and flood mitigation, ecosystem conservation and restoration efforts, and host of other water infrastructure projects. Included in this legislative package are several of Ciscomani’s provisions to authorize construction of water infrastructure projects for the City of Tucson, the Town of Sahuarita, and Pinal County. As part of this legislative package, Ciscomani secured: A $50 million dollar increase in authorization of funding for the Western Rural Water Program, a key program that funds essential water projects in Arizona. Authorization for the City of Tucson Southlands Recycled Water Loop: This project will allow the city to create a new reclaimed water facility and help reduce the cities reliance on groundwater and Colorado River Water. Expedited construction for flood control project construction in Pinal County at the Lower Santa Cruz River. Schweikert: Americans Are Feeling Inflation Effects Everywhere but Their Paychecks 2024-12-11 2024 2024-12 Republican House AZ David Schweikert S001183 schweikert.house.gov schweikert https://schweikert.house.gov/category/congress_press_release/ scraper WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative David Schweikert (AZ-01) took to the House floor to deliver his weekly speech, presenting solutions that directly contribute to rising costs and decreasing wages in America. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for November showed a 2.7 percent price increase from November of last year. Rep. Schweikert explained that wages are still down, and prices are evidently still up. He implored the American people, as well as his colleagues to prioritize a more modernized immigration system that promotes productivity and wage growth while, at the same time, contributes to our shrinking population and declining birth rates. Rep. Schweikert asks the question of why we invite people into our country just to educate them, when the next day we send them back to their country of origin in direct competition with America. When wages go up, we actually take in more tax receipts and then begins the cascade event of changing society and the economy for the future and the better. Excerpts from Rep. Schweikert’s floor speech can be found below: On modernization creating a pay-for, as well as preventing tax hikes: [Beginning at 00:41] “In the last fiscal year, our borrowing represented about 6.4 percent of the entire economy. When you have individuals around here saying, “Okay, we have these parts of our 2017 tax reform that expire at the end of next year.” If we just extend those, and don’t pay for them, it’s that [which] drives us to almost 9.2 percent of the entire economy nine years from now– nine budget years from now. If we actually find a way to pay for them and still extend those tax reforms, we get economic growth. If you just let everyone’s taxes go up, you end up– at the end of nine years– at about a little under 7% of the entire economy borrowed. It’s a little geeky, but the passion I tried to show here is I believe it’s the moral thing to do– we don’t let the portions on the middle class’s taxes go up next year, but we also step up and find a way to pay for it. Greg Stanton today celebrated the unanimous passage of the final Water Resources Development Act of 2024, bipartisan legislation he shaped over many months of work on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to authorize water projects in Arizona and across the southwest through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). This vote follows months of negotiations to reconcile House- and Senate-passed versions of the legislation. “Arizonans know that we cannot take our water for granted. Years of historic drought are straining our already over-allocated water sources—especially the Colorado River. That’s why I’ve worked so hard to prioritize funding for forward-looking and locally-driven water infrastructure projects, so we can make sure we continue to meet Arizonans’ most basic needs,”Stanton said. He worked to include several key Arizona water infrastructure investments in the final bill, including: $250 million for Stanton’s signature Arizona Environmental Infrastructure Authority. Stanton’s AZEI, a fund he created in his first term, provides grants to small, rural or tribal communities throughout the state to address water infrastructure needs. Since its creation in 2020, more than two dozen projects have been funded. In June, Stanton and USACE Commander Col. Andrew Baker were joined by Arizona mayors to sign project authorizations for several AZEI projects, including reactivation of the long-dormant Kyrene Reclamation Facility in Tempe, and construction of an aquifer recharge facility in the City of Maricopa, a detention basin to mitigate flooding in Flagstaff, and a new wells to meet water demands in Tolleson. Rep. Eli Crane, R-Ariz., is planning to introduce a resolution to give Daniel Penny the Congressional Gold Medal, Fox News Digital was told on Friday. “Daniel Penny’s actions exemplify what it means to stand against the grain to do right in a world that rewards moral cowardice,” said Crane, a retired Navy SEAL. “Our system of ‘justice’ is fiercely corrupt, allowing degenerates to steamroll our laws and our sense of security, while punishing the righteous. Mr. Penny bravely stood in the gap to defy this corrupt system and protect his fellow Americans. I’m immensely proud to introduce this resolution to award him with the Congressional Gold Medal to recognize his heroism.” Penny has been on trial for the death of 30-year-old Jordan Neely on a New York City subway in May 2023. Witnesses said Neely, who had schizophrenia, told train passengers that “someone’s going to die today” and did not care if he himself died in a scene that was described as erratic. Penny, 26, grabbed Neely in a chokehold from behind for about six minutes. He later died. Penny’s defense lawyers have argued that his actions protected Penny and other passengers aboard the train. They also argued that it is not certain beyond a reasonable doubt that the chokehold killed Neely, who also had the synthetic drug K2 in his system at the time. However, prosecutors have said Neely did not threaten anyone specifically and was not armed. They blamed Penny’s actions for recklessly causing the homeless man’s death, citing video that shows Penny continuing his chokehold even after Neely stopped moving. The case has led to wider debates about the morality of vigilantism versus progressive cities’ criminal policies. In the text of his resolution, Crane said Penny “protected women and children of the city of New York, New York, from violence on May 1, 2023.” “Throug… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T22:13:55Z

When someone like Musk is willing to engage in the hard conversations had yesterday, asking how to use technology to do it better, faster, cheaper, and dramatically more morally, there’s hope that more people are waking up and committed to the motive of not destroying the United States economy. Rep. Schweikert pointed out that many members don’t think of the morality of Congress’s place in the world. When there is a hiccup in the economy, the rest of the world gets a cold. If a debt crisis occurred, think of just how much of the world goes into mass poverty. Starting in 1990, the number of births in America started falling and now, society is aging fast. Rep. As of yesterday, it’s $36.17 trillion– meaning, in those two-and-a-half weeks since we last saw, we added another $170 billion of borrowing! At that current rate, we’re clicking off functionally $1 trillion every 105 days. Congressman Biggs’s bill will transfer non-protective responsibilities, such as the investigation of financial crimes like counterfeiting, to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) under President Trump and his FBI Director. The Secret Service Prioritization Act implements a major recommendation from the DHS Independent Review Panel’s October 15, 2024 Report on the Assassination Attempt in Butler Pennsylvania. The report noted the Panel’s “extreme skepticism that many of the Service’s non protective (investigative) missions meaningfully contribute to the Service’s protective capability and is concerned that they may materially distract from it.” Further, the report stated: Whatever else the Secret Service may do, its core, essential, and unique mission is to protect its protectees, including the president, vice president, and nominees for president in an election. No other federal law enforcement agency can discharge this duty. And the duty is a zero-failure mission. All assets should be allocated to that mission before any other tasks—including law enforcement responsibility for financial frauds, for example, or perhaps law enforcement duties entirely—are undertaken. There is simply no excuse to “do more with less” concerning protection of national leaders; unless and until those responsibilities are fulfilled, no resources (funds or time) should be allocated to other missions that are not centrally related to the protective function. USSS must be the top governmental protection agency in the world, and the near-assassination of President Donald Trump on July 13, 2024, proved that it has failed its no-fail mission. USSS’s $3.1 billion budget and 3,200 special agents must be properly allocated to ensure that non-protective measures do not take priority over the primary duty to protect curren… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T22:13:55Z

This legislation ensures that Members of Congress and accompanying Congressional staff can fully assess border security on Indian reservations that include at least fifty contiguous miles of the U.S. southern border. Lawmakers have a duty to their constituents to inspect heavily trafficked areas along the border and to report on threats to national security—even when that involves accessing Indian reservations. “The Biden-Harris Administration opened wide our southern border, and Members of Congress must not be restricted from attempting to survey and report on the state of the chaos,” said Congressman Biggs. “Tribal police on Indian reservations have impeded Members’ ability to travel to the U.S. border in the past. My legislation makes clear that this is unacceptable.” Cosponsors of this legislation are: Brian Babin (R-TX). 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T22:13:55Z

With the State of Arizona set to begin the process of awarding the Infrastructure Law program’s grant funding later this month, Rep. Greg Stanton isseeking a resolution. The Stanton-shaped Bipartisan Infrastructure Law created the $42.5 billion Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) program, administered by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). The State of Arizona wasawarded more than $993 million, and is expected to open theirsubgrantee selection process for BEAD awards on December 20th. But BEAD rules stipulate that locations already awarded funding under certain other federal programs—like the $20.4 billion Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) program created in 2019 and administered by the Federal Communications Commission—are ineligible for a BEAD grant. According to the Governor’s office more than 80,000 locations in Arizona currently have RDOF commitments, making them ineligible for BEAD funding. However, some internet service providers in Arizona under contract with the RDOF program have shown no signs of progress and appear to have a high risk of defaulting on their commitments to provide internet service. Stanton this week pressed FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel to clarify the timeline of eligibility for BEAD funding to ensure no communities are left behind. He also asked the chair to clarify the timeline and plan to allocate the second round of RDOF funding. “The deployment of these federal programs is a once in a generation opportunity to connect all of Arizona—improving access to health care, education, and economic opportunity,” Stanton wrote. Although the corruption, arrogance, and incompetency of Washington runs deep, we successfully introduced and passed sensible legislation that benefits the amazing people of AZ-02. As a former Navy SEAL, I recognize many of the challenges our veterans face after they transition back to civilian life. Veterans are hardwired for service, and it can be challenging to identify their next mission. Rather than spending billions on illegal immigrants and overseas conflicts, our federal government needs to prioritize those who put it all on the line for our country. In support of our nation’s heroes, I introduced a bill that would transfer federal land to Gila County for the operation of a veterans center in Young, Arizona. Not only would this bill provide veterans with family housing, meeting spaces, resource rooms, and a place to enjoy outdoor recreation, but this effort also doesn’t require any funding from the federal government. I would like to thank Gila County Supervisor Woody Cline, who attended this year’s State of the Union address as my guest, for his leadership on this project. I’m pleased to report that this bill passed out of the House. With the United States approaching $36 trillion in debt, it’s imperative that we tackle the unsustainable spending of the federal government. In Congress, I voted against every continuing resolution, omnibus bill, and persistently pressured leadership to slash funding from weaponized programs and agencies. Additionally, Washington politicians engage in frequent stock trading and yield astronomical returns. I firmly believe this is immoral, and I’m proud to be a cosponsor on the TRUST in Congress Act which would ban Members of Congress from trading stocks. Even though the Establishment rejects these reforms along with enacting term limits, we will continue to push for transparency and guardrails to prevent corruption. Recently, DHS-funded billboards advertising “rights” for individuals in “immigration custody” have been spotted in Arizona and Texas, drawing massive public scrutiny—one U.S. Border Patrol agent called the billboards “a slap in the face to all Americans.” These taxpayer-funded billboards are further evidence of the Biden-Harris Administration’s preference for putting the interests of illegal aliens ahead of U.S. citizens. The No Funding for Illegal Migrant Billboards Act would ensure that Americans’ taxpayer dollars are not used to further erode the immigration system upon which the Biden-Harris Administration has already wreaked havoc. Congressman Biggs is also leading a letter to Michelle Brané, Director of OIDO, demanding that she answer pressing questions relating to the billboards, such as the total amount spent on the billboards and the duration of the billboard campaign. “That DHS is spending taxpayer dollars to further exacerbate the Harris-Biden regime’s border crisis is abhorrent and must not be tolerated,” said Congressman Biggs. “This Administration has made a mockery of our immigration system for years. They have illegally undermined federal law at every turn, creating pathway after pathway for illegal entry without the authority to do so. Congress must, for once, honor our constitutional duty to check the Administration with the power of the purse. “I’m thankful for the support of my colleagues and urge House Leadership to immediately bring this legislation to the Floor upon our return to Washington, DC.” Cosponsors of the No Funding for Illegal Migrant Billboards Act are: Rep. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has broad power to dictate what shareholder proposals a public company must consider. Under the Harris-Biden regime, the SEC has severely limited the ability of companies to exclude radical ESG proposals, like requiring companies to conduct “racial equity audits” or to set mandates to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, that are detrimental to a company’s financial responsibilities to their shareholders. Actions from this Administration have forced companies to include controversial policies that are of little to no value to their business operations and accomplish nothing other than serving a woke social agenda. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have weaponized every aspect of the federal government to punish those who refuse to cower in the face of their radical priorities. The legislation would: Allow businesses to reject frivolous shareholder proposals unrelated to the financial success of the company. Limit the amount of proposals on which a company is permitted to vote, encouraging the prioritization of proposals that advance shareholder interests. “Woke activism shouldn’t be placed ahead of the profitability of a public company,” said Congressman Biggs. “Businesses should not be enslaved to radical ESG priorities that pull attention away from their fiduciary responsibilities. Focusing on woke policies only serves to harm businesses, investors, and the American economy. Congress must continue fighting the weaponization of the Harris-Biden regime and its push to radicalize Americans’ day-to-day lives. “I’m thankful for the support of my colleagues and for Senator Eric Schmitt’s (R-MO) leadership on this issue in the Senate.” “Over the years activist investors have increasingly proposed shareholder resolutions to compel American companies to consider ESG-related priorities that have nothing to do with financial perform… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:57:20Z

Terrorists, cartels and narcotics continue to flood our nation under Border Czar Kamala Harris’ watch, and Democratic members of Congress actively block legislation focused on securing the border. While Americans struggle to afford groceries, gas and other necessities, the federal government provides free flights, housing and services to illegal immigrants at the expense of U.S. taxpayers. The Harris-Biden Administration’s embrace of open borders harms our national security, fuels the child sex-trafficking epidemic and exposes innocent civilians to harm. Since taking office, Biden and Harris nullified effective Trump-era policies and prevented our Border Patrol from doing its job. For example, the Harris-Biden Administration terminated Title 42, ended Remain in Mexico and provided lucrative incentives to those looking to enter the United States illegally. Conservatives sounded the alarm, but the Biden White House pressed on and adamantly claimed that “the border is secure.” Currently, fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 18 and 45. Cartels smuggle this deadly poison through the southern border following shipments of supplies from China. The overwhelming number of illegal immigrants crossing the border preoccupies our Border Patrol agents and provides cartel members with cover to bring in these weaponized opioids. In addition, CBP encountered record numbers of terrorists entering the U.S. under the current administration. It’s important to note that these numbers don’t include the more than 2 million got-aways that evaded law enforcement. Specifically, the Advanced Border Coordination Act (H.R. 10027) would establish Joint Operations Centers to promote cooperation, enhance coordination between federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies, and provide officers and agents the tools and resources they need to combat illicit activity along the southern border. A companion bill was previously introduced in the Senate by Senators Catherine Cortez-Masto (D-NV) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN). “For the last three and a half years, border-districts, like mine, have been on the frontlines of the crisis at the southern border,” said Ciscomani. “As a result, our communities are less safe and Customs and Border Protection agents and local law enforcement officers are overwhelmed and overworked. Eli Crane (R-AZ) introduced the Legacy Mine Cleanup Act. The bill would codify the Office of Mountains, Deserts, and Plains (OMDP) at the EPA to formalize and improve coordination between the EPA and State/Tribal authorities on hardrock mine cleanup and ensure the Office is held accountable to Congressional oversight. Proper mine cleanup is a vital issue for all of rural Arizona and the broader region. Specifically, codifying the OMDP with this legislation would: Encourage EPA to prioritize responsible mine cleanup in Arizona over green initiatives, Ensure proper Congressional oversight of their progress, Bolster the OMDP’s outreach to ensure local/Tribal authorities have a seat at the table on cleanup projects that impact their health and environment, Provide guardrails to keep the office’s efforts focused on mine cleanup. Senators Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) have introduced a companion bill in the Senate. BACKGROUND Until the 1970s, mine operators could abandon their land after conducting mining activities, often leaving behind toxic waste piles and open, unsecured tunnels. The Government Accountability Office has estimated that there are 140,000 abandoned hardrock mines in the United States, mostly located in western states, which pose health and safety hazards to surrounding communities like surface and groundwater contamination. Over 500 of those sites exist on the Navajo Nation. The OMDP was created in 2020 by the Trump EPA but still lacks Congressional authorization. The Office has been effective in their planning of cleanup activities and outreach, even establishing several local offices and assisting with EPA regional office cleanup efforts. This bill builds on the successes of the Office and increases Congressional oversight of EPA’s mine cleanup progress. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:57:20Z

On the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Stanton has worked to hold airlines accountable for mishandling mobility aids, and to include provisions to improve the flying experience for passengers with disabilities in the bipartisan Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization. In Fiscal Year 2023, CBP reported that 610 agents were assaulted, while in Fiscal Year 2024, at least 413 agents were assaulted. In August, CBP issued a press release stating that Border Patrol, specifically in the El Paso Sector, is seeing a “significant rise” in assaults on agents. Reports that the Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ) is failing to prosecute illegal aliens who attack federal officers are concerning and likely contributing to losses in morale and support among CBP personnel. It is crucial to ensure that these violent illegal aliens are prosecuted not only for illegal entry into the country but also for assaulting federal officers. “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s egregious open border policies incentivize mass illegal immigration and open our country to violent criminals from around the globe,” said Congressman Biggs. “Our Border Patrol Agents put their lives on the line every single day and deserve much more respect than they’ve been given by this rogue administration. That agents are being assaulted in the first place is despicable, but DOJ’s failure to prosecute them accordingly is unacceptable. “I’m grateful for the support of my colleagues on this important issue as we await answers from Garland’s DOJ.” The letter to Deputy Commissioner Miller may be read here. The facility is currently undergoing renovations to allow it to utilize Advanced Water Purification technology—transforming treated wastewater into safe, purified drinking water. Stanton has repeatedly pressed the USBR to prioritize long-term water conservation projects for Inflation Reduction Act funding. In September, Stanton senta letter to USBR Commissioner Camille Touton in support of the city’s application for IRA funding through the Lower Colorado River Basin System Conservation and Efficiency Program. “Advanced water purification is the single most important technology for reducing the reliance of municipal populations on the Colorado River,” Stanton wrote. “The city is investing significantly in these projects. . . but to make [them] a reality, federal assistance is needed.” He further raised the importance of the project directly with Commissioner Touton in a September phone call. Stanton was joined on the tour by Rep. Jared Huffman (CA-02), the ranking Democratic member on the House Committee on Natural Resources Water, Wildlife, and Fisheries Subcommittee, and leadership from Phoenix’s Water Services Department. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:57:20Z

It is unacceptable that this technology Border Patrol relies on to secure the border and stop the flow of illegal narcotics into our country sits unused,” Stanton writes in a letter to FAA Administrator Michael Whitaker. He requests answers to the following questions: Can the FAA confirm the scope of the issue? How many RVSS cameras are affected? Is the FAA working with contractors to run or to repair these cameras? What is FAA doing to ensure these contractors are compliant with CBP’s Information System Security Policies and Procedures Handbook? What is FAA’s timeline to fix these cameras? The bill also establishes a whole-of-government approach to vaccine development including the appointment of a Vaccine Coordinator, the creation of a national strategy for vaccine development, and the establishment of programs to advance vaccine research and manufacturing. "Valley Fever is a devastating disease—with no known cure—that's impacting more and more Arizona families each year," saidRep. Greg Stanton. "I'm proud to partner with Congressman Duarte, researchers and key federal partners as we work to develop a human Valley Fever vaccine and eradicate this threat to public health." “Valley Fever negatively affects our families, workers, and communities, especially vulnerable populations," saidRep. This visit comes after Ciscomani was notified that two rural pharmacies in Willcox and Benson were closing down, citing the restrictive, anticompetitive practices of Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs). “Local independent pharmacies are critical to rural communities as they are often the only medical provider for hundreds of miles,” said Ciscomani. “During my visit, I heard directly from constituents about the importance of local pharmacist who understand the needs of their communities firsthand. This is not the same level of personal connection you can get from a large chain or mail order pharmacy. In light of the vast consolidation of local pharmacies, we must stand for independent practices that serve our local, rural communities. Pharmacy closures force rural residents to travel long distances to receive the healthcare they need, placing an undue burden on those with limited resources and mobility and increasing the risk of delayed treatment and worsened health outcomes.” Independent pharmacies constantly find themselves on the losing end when trying to compete against large corporations and chains. Furthermore, larger chains oftentimes are owned by the same entity that owns the insurance company and the PBM, and therefore are able to steer patients away from their community pharmacy in order to access their life saving medications and for a higher price. This is best exemplified by the fact that the three largest PBMs own 80% of the market. The Fix Our Forests Act would: Simplify and expedite environmental reviews to reduce costs and planning times for critical forest management projects while maintaining rigorous environmental standards. End frivolous litigation that delays needed forest management projects. Utilize state-of-the-art science to prioritize the treatment of forests at the highest risk of wildfire. Incentivize forest management projects of up to 10,000 acres to increase the pace and scale of active management. Promote federal, state, tribal, and local collaboration by creating a new Fireshed Center and codifying the Shared Stewardship initiative. Make communities more resilient to wildfire by coordinating existing grant programs and incentivizing new research. Give agencies new tools to restore watersheds, protect communities in the wildland-urban interface and prevent forest conversion. Revitalize rural economies by strengthening tools such as Good Neighbor Authority and Stewardship Contracting. (AZ-09), issued the following statement after introducing H.R. 9828, the End the Vaccine Carveout Act, a bill that would strip vaccine manufacturers of their unjust liability shields. This carveout has resulted in hundreds of billions of dollars in profits for Big Pharma while leaving tens of thousands of people without the ability to seek legal justice and compensation for injuries caused by vaccines. “Although federal bureaucrats and Big Pharma insist that vaccines are safe, there is an unfortunate lack of science regarding the safety of vaccines. For example, a review of 12,000 scientific papers by the Institute of Medicine published in 2012 found that 98% of injuries studied were either caused by or may have been caused by a vaccine. Another government study found that while vaccines caused injuries in 10 percent of cases, only one percent get reported, meaning those injured by vaccines are vastly undercounted. Furthermore, according to the Center for Disease Control’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, nearly 20,000 Americans were reported as having been killed to date by a COVID-19 vaccine, equating to one death for every 14,000 people vaccinated, much higher than the one in a million deaths that is normally cited for dangerous vaccines. Government bureaucrats and scientists responsible for approving vaccines are in bed with Big Pharma, often owning pharmaceutical stocks, serving as consultants and receiving lucrative contracts from pharmaceutical companies that pressure them to produce favorable results which is in direct violation of federal law. Worse, many scientists and researchers in government agencies develop patents for vaccines that are approved by the very agencies they work for, creating a conflict of interest and raising serious questions about the impartiality of their decisions. Under current law, it is nearly impossible to hold vaccine manufacturers liable for injuries caused by vaccines due to a 1986 law that unfairly created a… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:43:57Z

I particularly wish to thank Chairman Mark Green for recognizing the importance of advancing legislation that eliminates many of the challenges disabled veterans face when traveling. No American veteran, particularly disabled veterans, should be hassled at our airports. With this successful committee markup, it is time Speaker Johnson brings the VETS Safe Travel Act to the House floor for a final vote,” said Congressman Paul Gosar. Background: Congressman Gosar introduced the VETS Safe Travel Act on February 15, 2024. According to the Transportation Security Administration, approximately 400,000 veterans would become eligible for this free PreCheck screening program. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:43:57Z

He started by mentioning that the world has now surpassed the cumulative record of governmental debt, totaling an astonishing $312 trillion. Rep. Schweikert references previous floor speeches where he points out that every tax proposal for the wealthy only brings in 1.5 percent of GDP. He presents an additional hypothetical if Congress were to cut discretionary spending (which accounts for $860 billion) by $300 billion. With the combination of every Democrat tax proposal and every Republican cut, that still only gets 2.5 percent of GDP. All of this borrowing, mind you, comes in a good economic year, where tax receipts are up. We are still going to borrow almost 7% GDP. Excerpts from Rep. Schweikert’s floor speech can be found below: On other countries bond rates’ being cheaper than the Unites State’s rates: [Beginning at 02:12] “Congress has made the decision that those who are really running this government, those who run this country, will be called the ‘bond market’. Because, if you need to refinance, like we did this fiscal year, we’ve refinanced about $8 trillion and [brought] to market an additional $2 [trillion]. You’re basically sitting on $10 trillion, and that’s not even counting the short term where it was a thirty-day, [and then] six months… those things that had to be rolled. You are subject to the fragility of the bond market, and what interest rate, and how much liquidity… and how many idiots like me come behind these microphones and try to explain the world debt markets to you? Take it seriously, it is not a game. United States is now #14 on the credit stack. That means there [are] 13 other countries today that can sell a ten-year bond cheaper than us. Greece, today, can sell 10-year bonds cheaper than the United States. Think about that.” On the morality of more cures coming to market: [Beginning at 09:04] “Remember: in 15 years, the United … 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:43:57Z

The original design of the ERTC was to help Main Street retain employees during the pandemic. However, legitimate returns from small businesses desperately needing support were crowded out by perverse promoters looking to take advantage of an emergency program, landing ERTC on the IRS’s “Dirty Dozen” list in 2023. Earlier this summer, IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel asked for Congress’ “help with this situation” and assist Treasury to “address fraud and error.” The ERTC Repeal Act would enable the return to fiscal sanity and end a program riddled with fraud that could cost up to seven times more—up to $550 billion—than initially estimated if allowed to continue. By eliminating the ERTC program, this bill would save taxpayers an estimated $79 billion over ten years. “We’ve all heard from the number of small businesses in our district waiting for their claims to be processed,” said Rep. David Schweikert (AZ-01). “A 1.4 million return backlog still exists, and moving the deadline up, rather than waiting until April 2025, will enable the IRS to go after the bad actors seeking to take advantage of taxpayers while approving legitimate claims faster and delivering long-overdue refunds to small businesses. Congress would be perpetuating a moral hazard if this level of fraud were allowed to go unpunished. It’s past time fiscal responsibility prevails, and we act on behalf of future generations who will be shouldered with a more than $35 trillion national debt.” “This tax credit was an emergency response to prot… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:43:57Z

The current guidance states, “Animals and plants not associated with the work being performed are not permitted in the laboratory.” This leaves no room for objective assessment for equal or equitable access and opportunities for those with disabilities who utilize a service dog. Ciscomani encourages the CDC to amend the current BMBL guidelines to state, “Animals and plants not associated with the work being performed are not permitted in the laboratory; service dogs may be an exception based on an individualized risk assessment.” “Individuals who utilize service dogs who study or work in laboratories should not be judged or discriminated against due to their disabilities,” said Ciscomani. “Whether they need new assistance due to an accident, or have a lifelong disability, this guideline is denying these individuals reasonable accommodation and forcing them to put their ambitions and career on hold. Nearly 90 percent of the $4.1 trillion spent on health care in America each year is attributable to chronic disease. Addressing obesity, a risk factor for several chronic diseases, could save taxpayers up to $500 billion annually, and improve the nation’s physical and fiscal health. Witnesses pointed to the success of programs in various parts of Medicare – including innovative Medicare Advantage coverage options and value-based care delivery options – in improving patient health. The Health Subcommittee hearing follows the Ways and Means Committee voting earlier this year to provide innovative medical treatments to help more Americans manage chronic disease. In June, the Ways and Means Committee advanced bipartisan legislation requiring Medicare to cover certain anti-obesity medications, multi-cancer early detection tests, innovative medical devices and pilot a medically-tailored meal program. This week, the House of Representatives unanimously approved H.R. 3800, the Chronic Disease Flexible Coverage Act which passed out of the Ways and Means Committee as well and provides private health insurers with the flexibility to cover preventive medication and treatments. Greg Stanton’s Extreme Weather and Heat Response Modernization Act in an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote. The legislation, introduced with Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada, would empower the Federal Emergency Management Agency to better address extreme heat and to provide communities with more resources, including cooling centers, to keep people safe during extreme heat events. This comes as Phoenix this week broke a nearly four month stretch of triple digit temperatures—the hottest summer on record. Stanton spoke during Committee consideration of the bill, saying, “If Phoenix was being hit with a hurricane, or pummeled by tornadoes, or extreme flooding, FEMA would be able to provide federal assistance. Well heat kills twice as many people each year as hurricanes and tornadoes combined. Extreme heat is a long-term natural disaster, and we need the federal government to start treating it as such.” The legislation is supported by the City of Phoenix, National Association of Counties, National League of Cities, Natural Resources Defense Council, Desert Research Institute, and BuildStrong America. Ciscomani introduced this bipartisan effort in April 2024 with Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03). The bill passed out of Committee on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Under current law, people with disabilities who earn above traditional income eligibility limits can keep key benefits, like long-term care services that are not available through private insurance, as long as they pay premiums for their Medicaid coverage. However, when these individuals turn 65 years old, they can no longer participate in the Medicaid buy-in program, forcing them to wait two years until they can receive Social Security benefits at age 67. This can result in a two-year gap in coverage and penalizes individuals with disabilities who want to continue working. Ciscomani’s legislation H.R. 8107, the Ensuring Access to Medicaid Buy-In Program Act, would lift the age limit for the Medicaid buy-in program for working people with disabilities. This would give these individuals the option to continue to work, if they choose, and allow those over 65 years of age to continue to receive Medicaid coverage and benefits. Furthermore, the bill takes meaningful steps to improve access to Medicaid for those with disabilities by allowing states to waive certain Medicaid requirements that currently prevent individuals from qualifying for long term care services at home if they do not meet an institutional level of care need. Some individuals may need help with some daily tasks such as preparing meals or getting dressed, but the current high standard to access this assistance has created long waiting lists to receive Medicaid HCBS. By allowing this gap in care to increase, those who currently may not need an institutional level of care but still need assistance, could find themselves in just that s… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:43:57Z

The bipartisan bill, the Subterranean Border Defense Act, would help ensure that Congress has the necessary data to forge another much-needed layer of security at our southern border. As I’m sure everyone in Arizona is aware, our border security has been effectively dismantled under the Harris-Biden regime, with their reversal of President Trump’s successful border policies. What many people might be unaware of is the covert methods utilized by Transnational Criminal Organizations to smuggle deadly drugs and people into the United States. As these criminal enterprises grow in size and sophistication, their use of illicit cross-border tunnels along the southwest border is becoming a significant threat to our national security. Since 1990, officials have discovered nearly 150 underground tunnels that have breached the U.S. border, with a whopping 80% increase in tunnel activity occurring since 2008. The Subterranean Border Defense Act, which I introduced alongside Congressman Lou Correa, a Democrat from California, would help Congress address this growing threat by requiring the submission of annual reports on counter tunneling operations, fortifying our security system at the border. Currently, Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) has only been required to submit one report to Congress on a strategic plan to counter the tunnelling operations. This one report has mobilized Congress to exercise much-needed oversight while empowering CBP to adopt successful strategies to counteract illegal tunnels under our border. The Subterranean Border Defense Act would expand on this success by mandating a report every year going forward to make sure Congress has sufficient knowledge and oversight to combat this dynamic threat. This bill, as with my first two successfully passed pieces of legislation, are reflective of my priorities up in Washington—namely, looking out for our nation’s… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:43:57Z

Recent news reports note several states have identified hundreds of illegal immigrants registered to vote. For example, in Texas, Governor Abbott recently announced the removal of more than one million ineligible voters, including over 6,500 illegal aliens. Ohio’s Secretary of State referred nearly 150 illegal aliens for prosecution after recently identifying 600 lawbreakers registered to vote despite not being citizens. Virginia Governor Youngkin recently removed 6,300 illegals from voter rolls as part of nearly 80,000 voter registrations removed. In Oregon, election officials admitted this week that more than 300 non-citizens were also mistakenly registered to vote. Only legal voters have the right to vote in America yet states across the country are facing the daunting reality that illegal immigrants are showing up on their voting rolls. In fact, according to the Only Citizens Vote Coalition, there are nearly 22 million potential non-citizen voters in the United States thanks in large part to the Biden-Harris open border policies. Additionally, Washington, D.C. and 19 states hand out driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants providing a clear loophole that allows these lawbreakers to register and vote. Voting is a fundamental right extended only to American citizens and is at the heart of our republic. The SAVE Act will restore integrity in our elections by ensuring that only American citizens can vote in our elections. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:43:57Z

Last month, the California legislature passed a bill that would allow illegal aliens to receive up to $150,000 for mortgage downpayment assistance. While the bill was vetoed, Governor Gavin Newsome’s justification was based on a lack of state funding for the program, not a recognition that the policy creates new incentives for illegal immigration and would drive housing prices further out of reach of middle-class Americans. Congressman Biggs’s KAMALA Act: Adds language to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program ensuring that CDBG-funded programs are used to benefit American citizens, not illegal aliens, parolees, or asylees Prohibits the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) from allocating CDBG funding to states or localities allowing noncitizens to participate in housing assistance programs “Americans are outraged at the Biden-Harris Administration’s refusal to put the needs of citizens over the comfort of illegal aliens,” said Congressman Biggs. “Democrats across the country are coddling illegal aliens, providing them with housing assistance while hundreds of thousands of Americans live on the streets. Congress must step in and use the power of the purse to ensure that taxpayers aren’t subsidizing these foolish priorities.” Cosponsors of the bill include: Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN), Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT), Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD), Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA), Rep. In 2021, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) moved the Office of Survivors Assistance (OSA) from the Office of the VA Secretary to the Veterans Benefit Administration (VBA). As a result, this move has prevented OSA from having direct access to the VA Secretary to fix policy or address wide ranging problems with this program. Ciscomani’s legislation, the Prioritizing Veterans’ Survivors Act (H.R. 7100) would move OSA back within the Office of the VA Secretary to restore direct access and ensure that surviving families of veterans not only receive the benefits they were promised, but also have a direct line to the Secretary so that their needs and concerns are heard at the very top. Full text of the bill is available here. “Our veterans are our nation’s heroes,” said Ciscomani, a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. “When duty called, these brave individuals answered, sometimes making the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Surviving family members of these heroes deserve to have their needs prioritized by the VA, especially when it comes to accessing the benefits they deserve. The United States has the sacred responsibility to care for our servicemembers and their families. I am proud to see the House of Representatives vote to approve my legislation to move the Office of Survivors Assistance back under the VA Secretary to ensure families of fallen veterans can access the benefits they were promised.” “To uphold the sacred promise President Lincoln made to veterans and their families, VA must make care, services, and benefits for the surviving family members of veterans a top priority, as much as VA does for veterans,” said House Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chairman Bost. “But under the Biden-Harris administration, the survivor assistance of… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:43:57Z

Currently, public service employees, such as law enforcement officers, teachers, educators, and more are not eligible to receive their full Social Security benefits if they also receive other forms of retirement benefit, such as a pension. H.R. 82 would eliminate the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO) from the Social Security Act to ensure those who devoted their career to public service receive the full Social Security benefits they earned. “Our public sector employees dedicated their careers in service to their fellow Americans, and when they retire, they deserve to receive the entirety of the Social Security benefits they paid into,” said Ciscomani. “Far too often, I have heard from educators, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and more who are frustrated that their Social Security is being unfairly reduced and demand Congress take action to address this issue. I signed onto this discharge petition to force the House of Representatives to vote on this commonsense, bipartisan legislation to ensure that our public service employees receive the full Social Security benefits they earned.” Congressman Ciscomani joined H.R. 82 as a cosponsor in April 2023 and it is the most-cosponsored bill of the 118th Congress, garnering 327 cosponsors to date. A discharge petition requires the signatures of a majority of the House to bring the vote to the House floor. Current law states that less-than-lethal devices, such as Tasers, are defined as “firearms” under federal regulations and subject to the Firearms and Ammunition Excise Tax (FAET). H.R. 3269 amends section 921 of Title 18 of the United States Code to ensure that a less-than-lethal projectile device, along with future technological advancements in the de-escalation device space, is not treated as a firearm for purposes of the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA) or the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA). This bill also requires the Treasury Department to submit an annual report on new and emerging technologies within this sector to ensure lifesaving devices do not face the bureaucratic burdens currently hindering the use of less-than-lethal devices from keeping our communities safe. “Imagine a society where law enforcement is able to effectively protect our communities, without any lives being lost,” said Rep. David Schweikert [AZ-01]. “Aligning the tax code to meet the needs of our law enforcement officers and communities offers Congress the opportunity to reduce the chance of the use of deadly force and the unnecessary loss of life. Our ability to keep pushing forward to a world where such technology is available and robust has inspired this moral fix in hopes to solve part of the bigger societal issue, and I promise to continue advocating for this bill until it is signed into law.” “We need many different tools to keep the peace and protect our communities,” said Committee Chairman, Jason Smith [MO-08]. “Unfortunately, inconsistencies in our laws and tax code have resulted in critical and innovative less-than-lethal devices such as tasers being taxed as firearms, making it… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:43:57Z

The resolution also reiterates the importance of requiring photo identification at the ballot box. Congressman Biggs’s commonsense resolution is introduced at a time of unprecedented illegal border crossings into the United States. The United States has seen the invasion of more than ten million illegal aliens since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office in 2021. Several states and localities have identified illegal aliens on their voter rolls and instances where aliens have fraudulently cast ballots. “Now more than ever, it is vital that the House takes a strong stance in favor of securing our elections,” said Congressman Biggs. “The radical Biden-Harris regime’s open borders have allowed millions of illegal aliens to pour into our country. We must show the American people that we are committed to ensuring that only American citizens can vote in American elections. Requiring a photo ID to vote is a simple way to bolster the security of our elections. A photo ID is required to operate a motor vehicle, to purchase alcohol or tobacco, and to apply for welfare–it’s not too much to ask that individuals be required to show their ID to vote. “I urge House Leadership to quickly move this resolution through the House as we approach election season. We ought to take this small step in restoring Americans’ confidence in their electoral system.” Cosponsors of the resolution are: Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY), Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD), Rep. These estimates proved that even though the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) predicted a high of $851 billion and a low of $390 billion over ten years from additional collections on $400,000+ earners, we have only seen $1.3 billion in the first two years. Does anyone see a math problem? Rep. Schweikert then mentions the potential cost-savings that come from integrating innovative technology, how it may even be fairer and more effective. He closes his speech with the difficult discussion that 14.5% of all of our spending today is just interest— total interest, interest we owe to the trust funds, interest we owe to anyone that bought one of our bonds, our union pension funds. If gross interest comes in at $1.4 trillion, (45.68% of every income tax dollar), a little less than half of your income taxes go towards just paying down interest. Excerpts from Rep. The lower house of Mexico’s Congress approved the reforms last Wednesday, and the Senate is set to vote on the legislation as soon as tonight. “As a border state, Arizona benefits in so many ways from our close relationship with Mexico. However, I’m deeply concerned that the proposed constitutional reforms that will jeopardize this shared economic and security interest—particularly commitments made in the USMCA and efforts to counter cross-border crime,” Rep. Stanton said. “Our bipartisan resolution respectfully calls on our Mexican counterparts to weigh these concerns as they move forward.” “The reforms proposed by the current government threaten to take Mexico back to the days of one party rule,” Rep. As Transnational Criminal Organizations continue to grow in both size and sophistication, illicit cross-border tunnels along the southwest border of the United States represent a significant and growing threat to national security. The Subterranean Border Defense Act would help Congress address the growing threat of illicit cross-border tunnels by requiring the submission of annual reports on counter tunneling operations, fortifying our security system at the border. Put simply, this legislation would help ensure that Congress has the necessary data to forge another much-needed layer of defense. “Passage of this bill is a massive win for our security. Many veterans over the age of 65 and those who are disabled are enrolled in both Medicare and the VA. Oftentimes, due to a lack of coordination between agencies, dual enrollment can lead to challenges and result in fragmented and more expensive care. Ciscomani and Cherfilus-McCormick’s effort, the Coordinating Care for Senior Veterans and Wounded Warriors Act (H.R. 9399), would create a three-year pilot program to better coordinate, navigate, and manage healthcare benefits for veterans enrolled in both systems by assigning a case manager to develop individualized healthcare plans that best suit the needs of that veteran as well as ensure the proper delivery of those services. “Veterans are our nation’s heroes, and they deserve a healthcare system that works for them,” said Ciscomani, who represents over 70,000 veterans. “Unfortunately, too often, I hear from veterans who are frustrated by the lack of coordination between Medicare and the VA when trying to access the healthcare benefits they are owed. This bipartisan legislation will help senior veterans and those with disabilities by assigning a case manager to develop individualized care plans, coordinate the delivery of care, and help veterans navigate Medicare and the VA. I am proud to partner with Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick on this effort.” “Our nation’s veterans deserve the highest quality and standard of care,” said Cherfilus-McCormick, Ranking Member of the Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Technology Modernization. “The VA and Medicare program must fulfill this mission, but research continues to show that dually enrolled veterans struggle to navigate the healthcare bureaucracy and receive coordinated care. The letter is in direct response to the USCG’s decision to temporarily decommission numerous ships. USCG has reported that it is about 4,800 members short and has missed its recruiting targets for the past four fiscal years, leading to the decommissioning and shorter lifecycle of USCG ships and increased burden on USCG members. However, recent reports indicate cases of corruption, conflicts of interests, and the misuse of at least $200,000 taxpayer dollars. This legislation expands maternal care options for servicemembers and their families and would provide the Department of Defense with the option to permanently expand coverage if the pilot program is successful. “As our troops and military families selflessly serve our nation, it is our duty to take care of them and ensure they have access to the care they need," said Ciscomani. The letter addresses conflicting statements from national and local Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) leadership about the VA’s funding shortfall and the impact it could have on veterans’ care. On July 15, the VA informed the House Committee on Veterans Affairs that there would be an estimated $2.88 billion shortfall for FY 2024 in addition to $11.97 billion in FY 2025. Constituents reported to the offices of Congressmen Biggs, Gosar, and Crane that Veterans Health Administration (VHA) representatives conveyed that the funding shortfall could limit referrals for community care and result in a hiring freeze for the VA. Congressional staff raised these concerns with Director Matthews on July 19, and the reports were refuted. Congressman Biggs’s letter presses Director Matthews to clarify whether PHX VAHCS knew of the funding shortfall before the meeting with Congressional staff and requests information on how this shortfall may impact Arizona veterans seeking health care services. “Our veterans deserve to receive the care we promised,” said Congressman Biggs. “The VA needs to be upfront with Congress and veterans about the resources they need to provide the level of care that is expected and the benefits that were assured. This eleventh-hour disclosure, well after the appropriations process has begun, is irresponsible and could harm our veterans. “I am grateful for the support of my colleagues on this crucial issue and look forward to a prompt response from Director Matthews.” Congressman Biggs’s letter may be read here. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:36:13Z

This latest expansion of parole is likely to result in the growth of an existing international criminal network used to allow aliens to illegally enter the country through fraudulent marriages. Marriage fraud has been one of the major avenues used by aliens to illegally enter the country under the guise of legitimacy. Its use is so common that Homeland Security Investigations has investigated and prosecuted numerous criminal rings, some based on familial relationships and friendships while others were fueled by organized criminal enterprises charging hefty fees for arranging fraudulent marriages. Retail is the nation’s largest private-sector employer, driving the U.S. economy and creating jobs in communities throughout the country. In Arizona, retail supports more than 1 million local jobs and contributes more than $49.5 billion in economic activity. “The retail industry directly impacts every congressional district in the United States, providing goods, services and American jobs,” said NRF Executive Vice President of Government Relations David French. “NRF is honored to recognize Rep. Ciscomani as a ‘Hero of Main Street’ for their continued support of the retail industry through legislative action and leadership.” Last week, the NRF honored Ciscomani and 264 other members of the House and Senate as “Heroes of Main Street” during their Retail Advocates Summit in Washington, D.C. ### 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:36:13Z

Congressman Wiley Nickel (D-NC-13) joined Ciscomani in introducing the effort. Ciscomani’s bill, the Speeding Up Production of Essential Residences (SUPER) Demonstration Act (H.R. 9195), would utilize unused COVID-19 funds to create a new pilot program through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) focused on reducing construction time and costs of affordable housing. The pilot program aims to do so by streamlining or eliminating unnecessary regulatory requirements facing developments, which in turn would encourage more private companies’ investment into the affordable housing sector. “There is a critical need for additional affordable housing in southern Arizona,” said Congressman Ciscomani. “The current shortage in supply is driving rental costs and home prices higher, making it more difficult to find a home. This legislation addresses the worsening affordability crisis and increases the supply of homes by streamlining the construction of affordable housing units.” “It’s clear that the housing crisis impacting the entire country demands a quick and effective response,” said Congressman Nickel. “I’m proud to join with my colleague from Arizona, Rep. Juan Ciscomani, to co-lead this effort, which will provide grants to areas with a high need for housing and high projected growth, like the communities I represent in North Carolina. I remain committed to removing local regulatory barriers to housing construction, which will increase the supply and lower the cost of housing. This is a win-win for North Carolina and for communities across the country.” “BPC Action applauds Reps. Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ) and Wiley Nickel (D-NC)… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:36:13Z

Rep. Schweikert highlighted the reality that his 8-year-old daughter’s generation will face as the first generation predicted to live poorer than their parents. The truth is 100 percent of our debt from today through the next 30 years is strictly driven by demographics. He mentioned that we’ve neglected to allocate adequate resources for getting old while fertility rates in our country simultaneously decline. Now more than ever, not only is it crucial that Congress talks about the math, but it’s critical to create policies that foster economic growth and restore our nation’s fiscal stability. Excerpts from Rep. Schweikert’s floor speech can be found below: Click here or on the image above to view Rep. Schweikert’s remarks. On reaching debt levels that surpass previous calculations tenfold: [Beginning at 00:28] “You see the number? $35 trillion. Guess when we hit it?! We should be very, very excited and proud of ourselves! We did something that so many economists said we would never get to this quickly. My math says this coming Friday, 3 p.m., the United States gross debt will cross over $35 trillion. Understand that’s not the way Europeans calculate our debt. They calculate it higher because of our obligated, unfunded liabilities. You are going to watch the Treasury [on] Friday about 3 p.m. post up a number: $35 trillion. We did it. Congratulations. And how many people have you heard come find the microphone today or this week, understanding [and] wanting to talk about that? What we’ve gotten is people coming behind the microphone and not telling the truth. We ALL want to protect Social Security. The way you protect Social Security is [knowing] the math and how it actually works. We’re on track in a decade to double senior poverty. But God forbid any of us tell the truth about math because the truth gets you un-elected with a bunch of angry ads at home. This place runs around and a… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:36:13Z

H.R. 9092, the Heat Management Grant Assistance Act, would amend the Stafford Act to provide federal assistance for extreme heat events, and create a special federal grant program for local communities to access needed resources for heat response and recovery. “Extreme heat is responsible for more deaths each year than most other natural hazards combined, and local governments are on the frontlines responding to this crisis,” Stanton said. “Our bipartisan legislation takes the common-sense and overdue step of unlocking federal disaster dollars to help cities, towns and tribal communities respond to extreme heat events.” “As we face hotter summers and more frequent extreme heat events, our communities need to be able to rely on prompt federal assistance to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses and deaths,” Chavez-DeRemer said. “I’m proud to join Congressman Stanton to introduce this bipartisan bill to protect public health during extreme heat events.” Maricopa County recorded a tragic 645 heat-related deaths in 2023, a 50% year-over-year increase. This summer is on pace to be even warmer. Last month was the hottest June on record in Phoenix, and surface temperatures on Phoenix streets and sidewalks have reached a scalding 160°. The bipartisan Heat Management Grant Assistance Act would direct the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to work with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to issue a comprehensive heat event definition. If a locality reaches the “extreme heat event” threshold, it can request funding through the Heat Management Assistance Grant Program (HMAG) and receive timely federal assistance. The legislation has been endorsed and earned praise from the City of Phoenix, the National League of Cities, and the National Recr… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:36:13Z
https://biggs.house.gov/media/press-releases/congressman-biggs-secret-services-potential-pattern-negligence-concerning Congressman Biggs: Secret Service’s Potential Pattern of Negligence is Concerning 2024-07-30 2024 2024-07 Republican House AZ Andy Biggs B001302 biggs.house.gov biggs https://biggs.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper This week, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) sent a letter to United States Secret Service (USSS) Acting Director Ronald Rowe regarding the failures of his agency in protecting the life of a former President and current presidential candidate. Secret Service’s failure to properly secure the location resulted in the tragic death of firefighter Corey Comperatore, who lost his life protecting his family, and critical injuries to two other rally-goers, David Dutch and James Copenhaver. Public reporting indicates that USSS is in possession of a draft report by the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General (DHS OIG) detailing USSS’s preparation for and response to events on January 6, 2021. The security failures from January 6, 2021, and July 13, 2024, raise concerns over the existence of a larger pattern of negligence on the part of the Secret Service. Congressman Biggs’s letter demands that Acting Director Rowe provide the following information in furtherance of the House’s investigation into the Secret Service and the attempted assassination of President Trump: A summary of the findings of the draft DHS OIG report; A summary of the recommendations included in the DHS OIG report; What steps the Secret Service took to implement those recommendations ahead of the July 13, 2024, rally; What recommendations are still outstanding as of the time of the Secret Service’s testimony before the House Oversight Committee on July 22, 2024. The letter requests that Acting Director Rowe provide this information by August 7, 2024. “Secret Service’s security failures leading up to July 13, 2024, are unacceptable,” said Congressman Biggs. “The allegations that Secret Service received a draft report of previous security failures from DHS OIG but might not have implemented changes are highly concerning. Agencies like Secret Service should constantly strive for maximum efficiency; failure is not an option. “I look forward to working with my colleagues, including Representatives Cory Mills and Eli Crane who bring… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:24:45Z

Greg Stanton applauded the announcement today that the U.S. Department of Commerce and Tempe-based Amkor Technologies had signed a non-binding preliminary memorandum of terms (PMT) to provide up to $400 million in proposed direct funding under the CHIPS and Science Act. This proposed funding would support Amkor’s investment of approximately $2 billion and 2,000 jobs in a greenfield project in Peoria, Arizona, which will provide full end-to-end advanced packaging for the world’s most advanced semiconductors for applications in high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, communications, and automotive, end markets. This proposed investment in Amkor, the largest U.S.-based outsourced semiconductor assembly and test company (OSAT), will help strengthen resilience in key advanced packaging technologies—improving U.S. economic and national security by ensuring a reliable domestic advanced packaging ecosystem, supporting leading-edge clusters, and helping meet the growing demand for AI chips. Companies such as TSMC, Apple, and GlobalFoundries—which power the world’s most advanced technologies—will be able to package and test their essential chips domestically, enabling the full end-to-end cycle of the chip manufacturing process to occur in the United States. “Arizona is continuing to lead the world in semiconductor innovation. Thanks to our CHIPS Act, Amkor is expanding their footprint with one of the first advanced packaging and testing facilities in the U.S.,” said Rep. Stanton. “Soon, microchips manufactured in Arizona will be packaged in Arizona – making our entire semiconductor supply chain more efficient and resilient, while creating good-paying jobs here in the state.” Stanton supported Amkor’s application for funding under the CHIPS Act, leading his House and Senate colleagues in a letter to Secretary Raimondo earlier this year. “One of the fundamental goals of the CHIPS and Science Act is creating an advanced packaging ecosystem in the U.S. to ensure full start to finish chi… 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T21:24:45Z
