| https://mace.house.gov/media/press-releases/rep-nancy-mace-introduces-bill-shine-light-pesticide-use-federal-land | Rep. Nancy Mace Introduces Bill to Shine a Light on Pesticide Use on Federal Land | 2026-09-28 | 2026 | 2026-09 | Republican | House | SC | Nancy Mace | M000194 | mace.house.gov | mace | https://mace.house.gov/media/press-releases | scraper | WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 28, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) today introduced the Pesticide Transparency on Federal Land Act, legislation requiring federal agencies to publicly disclose pesticide applications on federal land, providing needed transparency to taxpayer-funded land and facilities. The legislation directs the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to establish a publicly accessible database documenting pesticide applications on federal land. Federal agencies would then be required to report pesticide use within five days, including where the pesticide was applied, the active ingredient used, the date of application, and the purpose of the application. "Washington does not get to spray chemicals on federal land while keeping you in the dark," said Congresswoman Mace. "Americans own these lands. If a federal agency applies a pesticide next to your home, your school, or your water, you have a right to know where, when, why, and what is being used. Transparency does not stop at the gates of federal property, and it is not optional when it comes to the health of our families." In addition to requiring future reporting, the bill also makes previously compiled federal pesticide application data publicly available through the EPA's database. The legislation includes a limited and commonsense exemption for information whose disclosure would harm national security, while requiring agencies to continue reporting the information to EPA and notify Congress when such an exemption is used. Under the Pesticide Transparency on Federal Land Act, the public database would include: The entity applying the pesticide; The location of the application, including geographic coordinates; The specific pesticide and its active ingredient; The date of the application; and The purpose of the application. This bill builds on Rep. Mace's ongoing work to bring accountability and transparency to pesticide use, including the Pesticide Harm Accountability Act and the SOUND Pesticide Research Act. The AMC is a public-private partnership between SRNL, USC Aiken and industry housed at a 63,000 square foot facility on USC Aiken’s campus. Graham, Scott, and Wilson argue that the continued investment into the AMC will help protect South Carolina jobs, promote innovation, and ensure South Carolina workers and businesses benefit from the next generation of energy and manufacturing technologies. Graham, Scott and Wilson wrote, “As the nation takes steps to implement President Trump’s vision of a U.S. Nuclear Renaissance, the AMC will ensure DOE and its industry partners have the tools and talent to work on the most challenging questions related to the fuel cycle and weapons production. Finally, among its many ancillary benefits, the AMC will also help educate and train a future workforce skilled in advanced manufacturing, as well as drive innovation in artificial intelligence-enabled automation, novel materials development for fusion energy, and nuclear applications.” They continued, “To ensure the AMC’s success, an enduring investment of $20 million per year is needed for facility operations and equipment, research, and partnerships. This funding will ensure that the AMC is staffed, provide for the maintenance of the facility, allow for the procurement of critical equipment needed for cutting-edge research and development, and support collaboration with industry.” | 1 | 2026-09-26T09:43:57Z | 2026-09-26T09:44:55Z |

Tim Scott introduces legislation to crack down on foreign birth tourism industry | 2026-09-24 | 2026 | 2026-09 | Republican | Senate | SC | Tim Scott | S001184 | www.scott.senate.gov | timscott | https://www.scott.senate.gov/media-center/press-releases/jsf/jet-engine:press-list | scraper | WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) today introduced legislation targeting the commercial birth tourism industry and the misuse of U.S. temporary travel programs. The Birth Tourism Elimination Act would prohibit foreign nationals from using certain temporary travel programs for the primary purpose of giving birth in the United States to obtain U.S. citizenship for their children and strengthen enforcement against those who facilitate the practice. Federal prosecutors have uncovered organized birth tourism operations catering to Chinese nationals, including operations that charged customers tens of thousands of dollars to travel to the United States to give birth. In one case, a birth tourism company, You Win USA Vacation Services Corp., advertised that it had assisted more than 500 Chinese birth tourism customers, used 20 apartments in California, and charged customers between $40,000 and $80,000. The company received $3 million in international wire transfers from China over two years. “American citizenship is not for sale, and foreign nationals have no right to buy citizenship for their children,” said Sen. Scott. “The birth tourism industry has disrespected what it means to be an American by selling and profiting from the freedoms and values that men and women across our country died for. We are blessed to live in the greatest nation on God’s green Earth, and my bill makes it clear that our temporary travel programs cannot be exploited for the purpose of obtaining American citizenship.” The legislation follows the Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v. Barbara, which held that, under the 14th Amendment’s citizenship clause, children born in the United States to parents unlawfully or temporarily present are “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States and are citizens at birth. Rather than changing who qualifies for birthright citizenship, the Birth Tourism Elimination Act targets the practice before an individual enters the United States and strengthens enforcement against the commercial opera… | 1 | 2026-09-25T10:04:52Z | 2026-09-25T10:05:46Z |

U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) joined Sen. Darline Graham (R-S.C.) and U.S. Representatives Sheri Biggs (R-S.C.-03), Joe Wilson (R-S.C.-02), Nancy Mace (R-S.C.-01), Ralph Norman (R-S.C.-05), James Clyburn (D-S.C.-06), Russell Fry (R-S.C.-07), and William Timmons (R-S.C.-04) on the letter. The delegation wrote to Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink and expressed their strong support for McEntire JNGB’s selection as the Air Force considers future basing locations for the F-35A. They argued that South Carolina Air National Guard leadership has worked in lockstep with South Carolina state and federal leadership to position McEntire JNGB as the ideal candidate to host the F-35, citing the 169th Fighter Wing’s consistent readiness and proven combat capability. “The South Carolina Air National Guard’s 169th Fighter Wing is a national model for excellence and readiness. After a decade of strategic preparation, the 169th Fighter Wing has the infrastructure and personnel to welcome F-35s. Add in a state and community that have unwavering support for our military, and you’ve got a match made in heaven,” said Sen. Scott. “It would be in the best interest of our nation to have a base of such high caliber serve as home to some of the United States’ most critical military assets.” “McEntire Joint National Guard Base is uniquely equipped to house the F-35A and that is no accident. The South Carolina Air National Guard leadership has worked in concert with our state’s leadership at all levels to ensure McEntire is ready to receive the F-35A. In addition, the 169th Fighter Wing has proven itself, excelling in both quality of personnel and mission completion. Scott is joined by Sens. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), John Cornyn (R-Texas), and Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) in introduction. Representative Nathaniel Moran (R-Texas-01) introduced companion legislation in the House, joined by Representatives Linda T. Sánchez (D-Calif.-38), Brian Jack (R-Ga.-03), Laura Friedman (D-Calif.-30), David Kustoff (R-Tenn.-08), Judy Chu (D-Calif.-28), Mike Carey (R-Ohio-15), and Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.-03). Following President Trump’s call for Congress to establish a federal production incentive to bring entertainment jobs and production back to America, this bill would establish a 20% base tax credit for qualifying film, television, and visual effects (VFX) projects that are produced in the United States. “Having worked in a movie theater growing up, I saw early on how films can move and inspire generations of Americans. Films like ‘The Notebook’ bring us to tears, and films like ‘Forrest Gump’ inspire us to see the world differently. That is the power of film, and South Carolina is blessed to serve as the backdrop for both of these iconic American stories,” said Sen. Scott. “We cannot stand by as more and more American film production moves overseas, taking jobs, investment, and an important source of American cultural influence with it. This legislation will create jobs in communities across America, support local economies, and help ensure that the next generation of iconic American films is made right here in America.” “For years, I’ve been championing a federal film tax credit to stop the exodus of tv and film production leaving the United States for countries offering higher incentives. Now, we have the best opportunity in decades to get it done. Sens. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.), Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Chris Coons (D-Del.), and John Curtis (R-Utah) joined in introducing the bill. With China controlling a majority of rare earth minerals, this legislation would support a more comprehensive critical minerals strategy and bolster U.S. economic and national security interests. “Critical minerals are the building blocks for advanced technology. From powering our cellphones to our nation’s most advanced weapons systems, they are essential to America’s national security,” said Sen. Scott. “The Critical Mineral Executive Coordination Act supports our efforts to safeguard access to critical minerals, bolstering our national defense, energy security, and economic competitiveness. America’s future should be driven by American strength, and this bill helps make sure the U.S. – not China – leads the way.” “Georgia’s transformative contributions to national defense and technological advancement call for streamlined access to global critical mineral markets,” said Sen. Rev. Warnock. “This bipartisan bill addresses alarming vulnerabilities by educating our federal workers and diplomats on the importance of securing our nation’s critical mineral supply chains and how to better support our domestic industries.” “We need critical minerals to build chips for everything from our smartphones to our national defense apparatus. The U.S. must not cede control of global critical mineral supply chains to China,” said Sen. (Sept. 22, 2026) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace introduced the Prohibiting Unethical Procedures on Pets in Science (PUPPS) Act, legislation to shut down America's puppy pipeline to research labs, protect dogs already trapped in the system, and hold violators accountable with tough financial penalties. Right now, breeders across the country are intentionally mating dogs, puppies as young as three months old, to supply research facilities with animals for invasive experimentation. A new investigation by the White Coat Waste Project, backed by FOIA records, reveals the staggering scale of this industry. Oak Hill Genetics, the nation's second-largest lab dog supplier, shipped 1,518 hound dogs to 44 U.S. laboratories between January 2025 and June 2026. Many of those labs are still actively receiving NIH funding. This is happening on the American taxpayer's dime. "Dogs aren't lab equipment. They're family. Breeding puppies into a life of pain just to stock government research labs isn't science. It's barbaric. We've already taken on Fauci's taxpayer-funded dog experiments and fought to get animals out of federal labs and into loving homes. Now we're shutting down the pipeline for good,” said Congresswoman Mace. “Thanks to White Coat Waste for leading the charge alongside us in this fight. This bill ends the breeding of dogs for research, cuts off the supply to these labs, and gives dogs already trapped behind those walls a second chance through adoption instead of euthanasia. Man's best friend belongs in a loving home, not a lab." White Coat Waste Project Founder Anthony Bellotti provided the following statement in support of the PUPPS Act: “White Coat Waste first uncovered Dr. Fauci’s BeagleGate scandal and led conservatives to the fight against taxpayer-funded animal testing. That’s why White Coat Waste is proud to support Rep. Mace’s PUPPS Act to stop the despicable dog breeding operations we’ve exposed that supply victims to taxpayer-funded labs and to ensure more survivors go from lab dogs … | 1 | 2026-09-23T09:45:16Z | 2026-09-23T09:46:14Z |

The grant will support students in Charleston County School District, Berkeley County School District, and Dorchester School District Four by providing long-term academic and career advising, financial aid assistance, and postsecondary planning beginning in middle school. The program is designed to serve low-income and first-generation students, helping them overcome barriers to higher education and prepare for successful careers. "Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or zip code," said Congresswoman Mace. "This grant will help nearly 1,000 Lowcountry students gain the tools, guidance, and support they need to pursue higher education, develop workforce skills, and build brighter futures. South Carolina's future starts in our classrooms, and we'll always stand behind investments giving our students the tools they need to succeed." Earlier this year, Congresswoman Mace submitted a letter of support for Trident Technical College's application, emphasizing the program's proven success in helping low-income and first-generation students prepare for college and careers through academic advising, financial aid assistance, career exploration, and postsecondary planning. The Talent Search Program is one of the federal TRIO programs designed to increase postsecondary enrollment and completion by providing students with the resources and support needed to succeed in higher education. By expanding access to college and career planning at an early age, the program strengthens educational outcomes and helps build a skilled workforce for South Carolina. Graham concluded, “I wish Lindsey were here to celebrate this historic day. I know he would be so proud. Lindsey believed this bill, which he worked on for well over a year, would help end the war through squeezing Putin economically and forcing his customers to reevaluate their relationship with Russia. I am confident that the sanctions and other measures contained in this legislation will do that and further increase the President’s negotiating leverage to secure a lasting peace.” The Lindsey O. The House-passed version of the bill authorizes and modifies water resources infrastructure projects and programs of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Fry secured a $35 million increase on the federal cap for public works projects in Florence County, which would bring its total authorization level to $75 million. Additionally, Fry was able to obtain $4.275 million for water and wastewater infrastructure for the city of Georgetown. “Families, businesses, and visitors in the Grand Strand and Pee Dee should not have to question the reliability of our water systems,” said Rep. Fry. “These investments will position Florence County and the city of Georgetown to make critical upgrades to their water infrastructure, protect local waterways, and give these communities the reliable systems they deserve. I encourage the U.S. Senate to maintain these authorization levels as they stand, and I look forward to working with my colleagues in the U.S. Senate to bring these much-needed resources back to our district. ” The House-passed version of WRDA authorizes $80 million in funding for the Seventh Congressional District. If that funding stands, the legislation will establish a framework for Congress to appropriate up to $80 million for these projects in future energy and water development appropriations bills. H.R. 9497 will now go to the U.S. Senate for further consideration. ### | 1 | 2026-09-22T09:42:49Z | 2026-09-22T09:44:35Z |

(Sept. 17, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) today introduced the American Citizenship Integrity Act, legislation to crack down on birth tourism, prosecute those profiting from it, and protect the integrity of American citizenship. The bill establishes new criminal penalties for birth tourism schemes, bars aliens seeking to exploit birthright citizenship from entering the United States, and coordinates federal efforts to dismantle organized networks facilitating the practice. "American citizenship isn't a travel souvenir or a commodity for sale. It's one of the greatest privileges on Earth," said Congresswoman Mace. "Birth tourism is an abuse of our immigration system. It rewards people for exploiting our laws while millions of Americans are left paying the price. Our bill shuts the door on this scam once and for all." The American Citizenship Integrity Act would: Create new federal criminal penalties for individuals recruiting, transporting, or facilitating birth tourism, including penalties of up to 15 years in prison per offense and up to 30 years for organized criminal enterprises. Make any foreign national seeking entry for the purpose of obtaining U.S. citizenship for a child inadmissible. Enable denaturalization proceedings for individuals convicted of fraud related to birth tourism. Establish the American Citizenship Integrity Interagency Task Force, co-chaired by the Attorney General and Secretary of Homeland Security, to investigate, prosecute, and dismantle birth tourism operations while coordinating with international law enforcement partners. Designate a dedicated federal prosecutor in every judicial district to coordinate and supervise birth tourism and citizenship fraud cases. "America is not the world's maternity ward. If you're exploiting our laws to manufacture U.S. citizenship, the free ride is over. This legislation puts criminal birth tourism networks on notice and gives law enforcement the tools to shut them down," Mace added. ### | 1 | 2026-09-22T09:42:49Z | 2026-09-22T09:44:35Z |

(Sept. 16, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace announced today she signed the Major Richard Star Act Discharge Petition, becoming the 218th and final signature needed to reach the threshold for a House floor vote. “These veterans came home carrying wounds they will live with for the rest of their lives. They sacrificed for this country, and they earned every benefit promised to them. Washington has no business nickel-and-diming veterans who were willing to put their lives on the line for ours,” said Congresswoman Mace. “We signed this discharge petition because enough is enough. Combat-injured veterans have waited long enough. It's time to bring the Major Richard Star Act to the floor and let Congress vote.” The Major Richard Star Act would allow veterans with combat-related disabilities to receive their full retirement pay concurrently with their disability compensation, without reduction. Under current law, veterans who receive Combat-Related Special Compensation alongside retirement pay face an offset, penalizing them for wounds earned in combat. The bill ends this penalty for all veterans with combat-related disabilities, including those with fewer than 20 years of creditable service. Congresswoman Mace has been a consistent voice for the men and women who serve. Combat-injured veterans have waited long enough for the benefits they earned through their service and sacrifice. With the path to a House vote now clear, Congress must put the Major Richard Star Act on the floor and give these veterans the vote they deserve. ### | 1 | 2026-09-17T09:52:05Z | 2026-09-17T09:53:00Z |

Congresswoman Mace responded: "I’m not about to be lectured on what a Congresswoman knows by the man whose job it is to make sure three dead children never get the last word. “Kevin Reddington spent 50 years at the Massachusetts bar, then asked the President for a federal pardon in a state murder case. After Mace called for the harshest punishment possible for child murderer Lindsay Clancy, Reddington chose to respond publicly. Reddington responded: (LINK) “Nancy Mace does not know this case, has never seen the evidence, and has never sat in that courtroom. This also comes after Reddington went on national television following the mistrial to ask President Trump for a federal pardon in a state case, which is legally impossible. (September 8, 2026) - Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC-01) introduced the Gender Delusion Disqualification Act, legislation to ensure individuals diagnosed with gender dysphoria cannot hold sensitive federal positions subject to mental health standards or obtain federal certifications requiring those same standards. The bill amends Title 5 of the United States Code to add Subchapter VIII to Chapter 73, establishing a new requirement for “covered positions” within executive agencies where mental health standards are already a condition of appointment or continued service. It also applies to “covered certifications” where federal law or regulation requires an individual to meet specified mental health standards for issuance or renewal. “The federal government should not be handing out security-sensitive jobs like participation trophies,” said Congresswoman Mace. “Serious positions require serious standards. Ideology should never come before reality, and if the government requires individuals to meet mental health standards, those standards should actually mean something. The bar exists for a reason. We’re not interested in lowering it to accommodate delusion.” Under the legislation, the head of each executive agency would have 180 days after enactment to issue regulations implementing the new requirements for covered positions and certifications within their jurisdiction. The bill also makes clear it would not impose additional standards on executive branch employees who do not hold a covered position. “When public safety is on the line, there is no room for gender delusion. Our bill keeps the bar where it belongs,” Mace added. ### | 1 | 2026-09-10T09:25:58Z | 2026-09-10T09:27:09Z |

She ranks 5th out of all 435 House members and has introduced more bills than any other member of South Carolina's House delegation. Each bill starts with a real problem facing South Carolinians: a shrimper fighting to compete on a fair playing field, a veteran fighting for benefits he already earned, a mother demanding answers for her child. Congresswoman Mace has built her legislative record around the issues South Carolinians care about most, from making life more affordable for working families, to fiscal responsibility, national security, immigration enforcement, veterans’ care, protecting women and children, animal welfare, and defending South Carolina’s coastal communities and way of life. "Reaching 100 bills is a huge milestone, but it's not the finish line," said Congresswoman Mace. "One hundred bills means 100 times we put pen to paper and said, 'Here's the problem. Here's how we fix it.' South Carolina sent us here to work, and we’re going to keep working until the job is done." Below is a list of the 100 pieces of legislation Rep. Mace has introduced this Congress: Passed the House: H.R. 30 - Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act H.R. 872 - Federal Contractor Cybersecurity Vulnerability Reduction Act of 2025 H.R. 5235 - Skills-Based Federal Contracting Act of 2025 Advanced Out of Committee: H.R. 3455 - Veterans Affairs Distributed Ledger Innovation Act of 2025 H.R. 2985 - Modernizing Government Technology Reform Act H.R. 5000 - Cybersecurity Hiring Modernization Act Continued List of Introduced Legislation: H.R. 10278 - REAL Sugar Act H.R. 10212 - PEPTIDES for Veterans Act H.R.10145 - SOUND Pesticide Research Act H.R. 10144 - Pesticide Harm Accountability Act H.R. 10127 - TRANS Government Research Act H.R. 1009… | 1 | 2026-09-05T08:49:07Z | 2026-09-05T08:50:44Z |

(Sept. 3, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced the Removing Excess Additives and Limiting Sugar Act, or the REAL Sugar Act, to bring common sense back to America’s food supply. The legislation bans high-fructose corn syrup in food sold in the United States. "Americans are tired of being fed highly processed junk and being told it's normal," said Congresswoman Mace. "If we're serious about making America healthy again, we need to take a hard look at what we're putting in our food. The REAL Sugar Act puts American families first and takes on an industry long overdue for accountability." High-fructose corn syrup hides in foods Americans consume every day, from sodas and sugary beverages to cereal, granola, sauces, flavored yogurt, candy, and ice cream. Excessive consumption of added sugars is linked to weight gain and obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. It’s time to cut the junk and get back to real food. The REAL Sugar Act would amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to prohibit food containing high-fructose corn syrup from entering interstate commerce. This legislation provides manufacturers with two years to reformulate their products and transition away from high-fructose corn syrup. The bill would also require the Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the Commissioner of Food and Drugs, to report to Congress within three years on industry reformulation efforts, regulations implemented to comply with the legislation, and recommendations for additional Congressional action. "MAHA means getting back to real food. Americans shouldn't need a chemistry degree to know what they're eating.” Mace added. The SNAP Fraud Accountability Act lowers that threshold from $5,000 to $1,000, ensuring those who deliberately defraud the program face consequences. “SNAP exists to help Americans who genuinely need assistance putting food on the table, not to provide an opportunity for criminals to steal from taxpayers,” said Congressman William Timmons. “The SNAP Fraud Accountability Act makes clear that if you deliberately defraud a program funded by hardworking Americans, there will be consequences.” | 1 | 2026-09-04T09:19:37Z | 2026-09-04T09:20:58Z |

(Sept. 1, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace introduced the Providing Evidence-based Peptide Therapies to Improve Delivery and Expanded Services for Veterans Act, or the PEPTIDES for Veterans Act, legislation directing the Department of Veterans Affairs to study the safety, efficacy, and potential therapeutic benefits of peptide-based therapies for veterans receiving care through the VA. “Our veterans sacrificed everything to protect our country. The least we can do is make sure they have access to groundbreaking treatments,” said Congresswoman Mace. “The VA shouldn’t bury promising advancements in bureaucracy simply because they’re new. Study it. Test it. Follow the evidence. If it works, veterans deserve access. Washington’s red tape should never stand between a veteran and their chance to heal.” The bill requires the VA Secretary to first conduct a comprehensive review of existing regulations and guidance surrounding peptides and submit a report to Congress within 180 days of enactment. Following the review, the VA would carry out an 18-month study examining peptide-based therapies as potential treatments for recovery, rehabilitation, chronic pain, mental health, physical wellness, and other service-connected conditions. If the study determines peptide-based therapies are safe and beneficial, the legislation directs the VA to launch a pilot program for veterans who voluntarily elect to participate, to evaluate real-world outcomes and assess potential for large-scale implementation across VA medical facilities. "The VA bureaucracy has stood between veterans and the care they earned for too long. If peptide therapies can help veterans manage pain, recover faster, or improve their mental and physical health, they deserve the treatment." Mace added. ### For press inquiries, please contact SC01Press@mail.house.gov | 1 | 2026-09-02T09:19:58Z | 2026-09-02T09:20:51Z |

Currently, the EPA requires only two generations of study when considering the reproductive and health consequences of certain pesticides. However, many medical professionals are concerned that only tracking two generations of health effects does not provide the EPA with enough data to make comprehensive safety determinations. This bill ensures the EPA makes safety determinations based on sufficient data by requiring studies to consult data from four generations of test species, rather than the existing two. "When testing pesticides for harm, the EPA is rubber-stamping pesticide products left and right without consulting long-term, comprehensive safety data," said Congresswoman Mace. " This bill ensures that the EPA does its homework before putting pesticides on the menu.” The SOUND Pesticide Research Act would: Require the EPA to rely on data from a multigenerational reproductive toxicity study covering no fewer than four generations of test species before establishing, modifying, revoking, or leaving in effect any pesticide residue tolerance or exemption Direct the EPA to audit all existing pesticide residue tolerance determinations within 180 days of enactment to confirm each one meets the new standard Require the EPA to report to Congress within two years identifying every determination reviewed, updated, or changed as a result "This is not complicated," Mace added. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) in introducing a resolution to designate August 22 through August 30 of 2026 as National Park Week. The Senate passed the resolution by unanimous consent. “America is the greatest country on earth, and our national parks contribute immensely to that greatness. From the natural beauty of Congaree to the historic grounds of Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie, South Carolina is home to some of the most beautiful places in God’s creation,” said Sen. Scott. “As we celebrate National Park Week, I welcome Americans across the country to spend time outdoors and learn more about why we are blessed to call this land our home.” “America’s national parks are true national treasures worth protecting. I’m thrilled to commemorate this week as National Park Week with Senator King. These parks are America’s crown jewels, and we will cherish them for generations to come,” said Sen. Daines. Congress established Yellowstone National Park as the first national park in 1872. Since then, the United States government has worked to protect and support national parks. In 1916, Congress established the National Park Service to protect and manage the landscapes, battlefields, and historical sites across the country, so that future generations may enjoy them and learn from their rich history. (Aug. 24, 2026) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced the Pesticide Harm Accountability Act to give Americans back their day in court when toxic pesticides cause harm, following the Supreme Court’s June 25 ruling in Monsanto Co. v. Durnell. In Durnell, the Supreme Court held the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) blocks states from holding pesticide manufacturers accountable when the EPA approved a label without requiring a cancer warning. The decision wiped out a $1.25 million jury verdict for John Durnell, a man diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma after decades of Roundup exposure, and slammed the courthouse door on victims like him nationwide. “If a pesticide company harms you, you should be able to take them to court. Period.” said Congresswoman Mace. “Washington bureaucrats shouldn’t be able to protect big corporations from accountability while Americans pay the price. When Washington fails, states must have the power to fight back and hold bad actors accountable.” The Pesticide Harm Accountability Act would: Stop federal law from blocking state lawsuits against pesticide manufacturers over labeling and packaging. Protect states’ ability to require stronger warnings on pesticide products under state tort law. Restore Americans’ ability to seek damages in state court when pesticide manufacturers fail to adequately warn about the risks of their products. Require the EPA to identify and address federal regulations, guidance and policies limiting state tort claims involving pesticide labeling or packaging. The bill comes as Congress has documented serious failures in EPA pesticide oversight: nearly 65 percent of pesticides are conditionally registered before full safety review; emergency exemptions are used to keep pesticides on the market for years without comprehensive registration; and manufacturers are not required to disclose certain "inactive" ingredients, which can constitute 99 percent of a product and include carcinogenic chemicals. “You… | 1 | 2026-08-25T05:31:37Z | 2026-08-25T05:33:09Z |

The bill is simple: no federal dollars to conduct, support, or fund research on gender-related medical treatments. Not for surgeries. Not for hormones. Not for puberty blockers. "Washington has been writing checks to study how to permanently destroy a healthy body in the name of gender ideology, all on your dime," said Congresswoman Mace. "It stops now. Sex is binary. Male or female. It is not a spectrum. It is not a social construct. Science settled this long before Washington decided to spend our money pretending otherwise. American taxpayers are done bankrolling the delusion." This legislation permanently blocks the federal government from spending taxpayer dollars on research designed to negate biological sex. The TRANS Government Research Act is a direct response to the weaponization of federal research funding by gender ideology activists seeking to replace biological reality with delusion. The bill covers the full scope of gender transition procedures: surgical procedures including hysterectomies, phalloplasties, vaginoplasties, subcutaneous mastectomies, and facial feminization surgeries; exogenous hormone treatments including testosterone and estrogen; and puberty-blocking drugs including gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists and synthetic drugs suppressing estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone production or delaying pubertal development. The bill also codifies biological definitions of "male," "female," and "sex" based on reproductive systems, specifying sex is determined by whether an individual's reproductive system naturally produces, transports, and utilizes eggs or sperm for fertilization. This legislation — which honors the late Senator Lindsey Graham, who worked on the bill for more than a year and secured the White House’s support — will hold major purchasers of Russian oil and gas accountable for supporting Russia’s war against Ukraine and extend sanctions that restrict funding for Iran’s energy and weapons sectors. "Senator Lindsey Graham and I shared the belief that opposing dictators in defense of freedom and liberty is always the right thing to do. War criminal Putin is losing his invasion of sovereign Ukraine and the threat to humanity posed by the Iranian regime is dire. It is time for Congress to give President Trump the strongest tools available to choke off Russia's war machine for the good of mankind and cripple the ability of Tehran to continue sowing chaos in the region and beyond. Wilson. “Democracy is presently under threat from despotism, and Congress must act to defend democracy and help Ukraine defeat Vladimir Putin’s effort to extinguish its liberty and sovereignty. With current funding set to expire at the end of the fiscal year on September 30, this CR demonstrates Senate Republicans’ efforts to keep the government funded while giving Congress time to continue working on appropriations bills and avoid a government shutdown. Senator Scott released the following statement: “The American people deserve a government that works for them, and that means keeping the government open and operating,” said Sen. Scott. “Today, the Senate passed a short-term spending bill that puts American workers and families first. In doing so, we are committed to avoiding another unnecessary shutdown, ensuring hardworking Americans continue receiving their paychecks, and protecting critical programs and services for families in South Carolina and across the country. I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance a fiscal year 2027 funding bill that reflects our commitment to fiscal responsibility and a strong future for the American people.” Background: The CR was agreed to by the Senate Appropriations Committee and funds the government through December 11 at current levels in most cases. Democrat-forced shutdowns over the past year have caused a loss of $7 billion to $14 billion in GDP, led to more than 7,500 flight cancellations that cost the travel industry $2.6 billion, and left 1.3 million troops to face pay uncertainty. The Senate version of the CR contains several bipartisan extensions, including maintaining funds for housing and nutrition programs, extending authorization for veterans’ health care, the Defense Production Act, and making adjustments for programs including the Disaster Relief Fund. ### | 1 | 2026-08-09T05:47:57Z | 2026-08-09T05:49:40Z |

We are also holding the family of Samson Campbell, just 18 years old, close in our hearts during this unimaginable time. "No family should ever have to bury a child this young. We trust the DeLand Police Department will not rest until they find who committed this horrific act of violence. We pray for justice these two young men deserve." ### | 1 | 2026-08-05T07:37:37Z | 2026-08-05T07:38:44Z |

The Legislation establishes a program to encourage health plans to invest in earlier detection and treatment of chronic kidney disease before patients develop end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Under the bill, participating health plans would improve access to kidney screenings, medications, nutrition services, care coordination, and other preventive treatments while reducing or eliminating patient cost-sharing for key kidney care services. These investments should successfully slow the progression of kidney disease and reduce Medicare spending, while saving lives. The legislation has been endorsed by the American Kidney Fund (AKF), the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Alliance for Aging Research, Amputee Coalition, American Society of Nephrology, The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC), Gerontological Society of America (GSA), Global Coalition on Aging, IgA Nephropathy Foundation, League of United Latin American Citizens, The Mended Hearts, Inc., National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC), National Alliance of Purchaser Coalitions, National Association of Nutrition and Aging Services Programs (NANASP), NCBA Inc., The National Consumer League (NCL), National Kidney Foundation (NKF), NephCure, Renal Physicians Association (RPA). The joint endorsement letter can be read here. “Kidney disease affects millions of Americans, yet far too many are not diagnosed until it is too late. The PREVENT ESRD Act takes a commonsense approach by encouraging earlier screening, expanding access to proven treatments, and rewarding better outcomes that improve patients' lives while reducing costs for taxpayers. I am grateful to work to help Americans stay healthier and strengthen the future of healthcare. I dedicate this fight to the late Karen Metz, wife of my Chief of Staff Craig Metz, who courageously battled kidney disease,” said Rep. Wilson. “Research shows early intervention in kidney care could save Medicare more than $9 billion and employers over $35 … | 1 | 2026-08-04T07:35:49Z | 2026-08-04T07:37:27Z |

(August 3, 2026) — Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) today applauded Beaufort County Parks and Recreation for announcing a countywide ban on Roundup and other glyphosate-based herbicides in County parks, the first meaningful county-level pesticide safeguard in South Carolina. Rep. Mace helped strip pesticide-preemption and liability-shield provisions out of the Farm Bill, preserving the right of states and local governments to adopt stronger pesticide protections than federal law requires. She has also supported the bipartisan No Immunity for Glyphosate Act. "Beaufort County just proved local leadership can move faster than Washington, and get it right. "For too long, powerful chemical companies have hidden behind federal preemption to keep communities from protecting their own kids, their own water, and their own backyard. Beaufort County said no more. "This is what Make America Healthy Again actually looks like choosing our children and our wildlife over a chemical company's bottom line. "We hope every county in South Carolina is paying attention." ### | 1 | 2026-08-04T07:35:49Z | 2026-08-04T07:37:27Z |

(July 31, 2026) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) today announced the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded $5.9 million to the Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL) to support construction of the Arthur E. Brown Regional Workforce Training Center at TCL's Bluffton New River Campus. The EDA grant closes the remaining funding gap for the $27.4 million, state-of-the-art facility, which will prepare Lowcountry residents for careers in advanced manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and other high-demand industries. "Our Lowcountry economy depends on a skilled workforce," said Congresswoman Mace. "The Arthur E. Brown Regional Workforce Training Center will equip students and workers with the training employers need while helping fill critical workforce shortages across our region. Investing in workforce development means investing in South Carolina's future." Rep. Mace submitted a letter of support to the EDA backing TCL's application, emphasizing the project's importance in addressing workforce shortages, expanding industry-aligned training programs, and commemorating General Arthur E. Brown. "A strong workforce is the foundation of a strong economy," Mace added. "This project will connect more residents with in-demand careers, support businesses, and keep the Lowcountry competitive." See Rep. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), and numerous colleagues in celebrating the passage of a Senate resolution designating Aug. 1, 2026, as Gold Star Children’s Day, which recognizes the children of fallen service members. “Gold Star children bear the unimaginable weight of losing their father or mother in service to our nation. They suffer a loss so few can comprehend, but their bravery and strength should give us all hope and fill our hearts with gratitude,” said Sen. Scott. “With this resolution, we honor all of the children who have lost so much for our freedoms. We will never forget our brave men and women in uniform, and we will never forget the sacrifices made by their children.” “The sons and daughters of our fallen service members carry on the legacies of their parents. We set aside this day to honor them and to remember the sacrifices of their mothers and fathers,” said Sen. Wicker. “Gold Star children grow up carrying the weight of losing of a parent who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country,” said Sen. Kelly. “These kids deserve to know that their parents’ service will never be forgotten and that this country will always stand behind them.” America’s Gold Star tradition began in World War I. When a service member deployed, his or her family would often hang a banner bearing a blue star outside the home. If the loved one died in the line of duty, the family replaced the blue star with a gold one. These families came to be known as Gold Star Families. In the wars of the 20th and 21st centuries, nearly 625,000 Americans have made the ultimate sacrifice and have been survived by nearly 15,000 children. Senators recognize August 1 specifically to honor these Gold Star Children. U.S. Sens. Nancy Mace Introduces Resolutions to Ban Members of Congress from Sexual Relationships and Cohabitation with House Staff | 2026-07-30 | 2026 | 2026-07 | Republican | House | SC | Nancy Mace | M000194 | mace.house.gov | mace | https://mace.house.gov/media/press-releases | scraper | WASHINGTON, D.C., (July 30, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced two resolutions to close the long-exploited loopholes in House ethics rules, banning Members of Congress from engaging in sexual relationships with or living with any House employee. The first resolution would prohibit any Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner from engaging in a sexual relationship with any House employee. Under current rules, the ban only covers a Member's direct staff and staff of committees the Member sits on, leaving thousands of other House employees with zero protection. A recent example of a member this resolution would apply to include Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ). According to reports, while serving in the House of Representatives, Gallego had sexual relationships with two aides working for Texas Democratic members of Congress. The reports also described Gallego as "very flirtatious" with other staffers. "If you're a Member of Congress, your priorities should be serving your constituents and this country, not fooling around with staff," said Congresswoman Mace. "There has been a culture of Members abusing their power over staff for far too long and we're done watching it happen. It's gross, it's a disgrace to the taxpayers who send you here to work for them, and it has gone on long enough. Congress is not your personal dating pool. If you can't do your job without hitting on staff, find another job and leave the women you work with alone." The second resolution would prohibit any Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner from cohabitating with any House employee, unless the employee is the Member's spouse. Shockingly, there is no rule prohibiting this today. Examples of who this resolution would apply to include former Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY), who lived with as many as five aides in a Capitol Hill townhouse before resigning in 2010 amid allegations he groped and sexually harassed multiple young male aides, including those he lived with. Todd Young (R-Ind.), Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), John Kennedy (R-La.), and Andy Kim (D-N.J.) in introducing the Merit-Based Educational Reforms and Institutional Transparency Act (MERIT Act). This legislation is designed to end the practice of colleges and universities giving “preferential treatment” in the admissions process based on an applicant’s relationship to alumni or donors of the deciding institution. The MERIT Act would amend the Higher Education Act to add a new standard for accreditation to prevent accredited colleges and universities – institutions that are recognized for maintaining a certain level of educational quality – from giving “preferential treatment” during the admissions process. “Every student deserves a fair shot at any college or university regardless of his or her family’s background and connections to the institution,” said Sen. Scott. “Education is the doorway to opportunity, and the MERIT Act ensures we keep that door open for all students. This legislation will level the playing field so that all students have the opportunity to work hard and pursue their version of the American Dream.” “America is a land of opportunity, not a land of aristocracy,” said Sen. Young. “Legacy admissions restrict opportunities for many bright and talented young Americans and provide unmerited advantage to the most connected individuals in our society. Our bill will end legacy preferences in the admissions process and promote upward mobility for Americans of all backgrounds.” “Everyone deserves the same opportunity to pursue higher education if they choose. It shouldn’t be dependent on whether someone’s parents went to college or donated money to a university,” said Sen. Kaine. “I’m glad to be introducing this bipartisan bill to provide Americans of all backgrounds the same chance to pursue higher education and help ensure first-generation and low-income students are not at a dis… | 1 | 2026-07-31T07:49:23Z | 2026-07-31T07:50:48Z |

Today, when given the chance to answer for it under oath, he pleaded the Fifth. "Americans said goodbye to loved ones through plexiglass. Businesses were destroyed. Kids lost years of their education. While millions were dying, Fauci was collecting celebrity friends, clipping newspaper articles about himself, and writing in his diary about being the most famous person in the country. "Fauci looked Congress in the eye and lied under oath about funding research tied to a pandemic killing millions, research he used as justification to shut down our country. His agency's own deputy director admitted the truth on the record. “Dr. Fauci can plead the Fifth all he wants, but if Biden's autopen pardon is valid, he has no legal grounds to do so. His refusal to answer questions after receiving a pardon should result in him being held in contempt of Congress. The American people are still waiting for the truth about COVID, and they deserve to see Anthony Fauci held accountable." ### | 1 | 2026-07-30T07:32:48Z | 2026-07-30T07:34:08Z |

(July 23, 2026) — Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced a resolution to put an end to race-based caucuses in Congress. The resolution would direct the Committee on House Administration to revoke and prevent the registration of Congressional Member Organizations (commonly known as caucuses) and Congressional Staff Organizations which discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, or national origin. For decades, Congress has given official recognition to caucuses sorting Members by race and ethnicity. This ends now. Rep. Mace's resolution directs the House Administration Committee to revoke existing registrations and block the registration of future organizations doing the same. "Race-based caucuses are not about diversity. They are segregation sanctioned by the legislative branch of the federal government," said Congresswoman Mace. "You do not get to lecture America about inclusion while running an organization checking skin color at the door or advocating for Americans of one race over another. It is discrimination under the guise of diversity. Our resolution calls it what it is and shuts it down for good." The resolution targets caucuses and staff organizations: formed primarily or substantially on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, or national origin; Who admits or decline to admit members on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, or national origin; Organizes or advocates for the perceived interests of a particular race, color, ethnicity, or national origin over others. Sen. Scott honored the life and legacy of his friend and colleague, the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, and his decades of service to South Carolina. As chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, he also highlighted the landmark 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, his work to establish clear rules of the road for digital assets, and the need for America to win the AI race. On Senator Lindsey Graham’s legacy: He was the kind of guy that would go the extra mile because he knew it was important to you. And to have someone who loves our state so much that no matter how inconvenient it is for him, no matter how challenging it might be for all of us — Lindsey was there. […] Most of us celebrate the Working Families Tax Cut bill, 97% of Americans received a tax cut, somewhere around $250 a month, or what we like to say is $5 trillion. The challenge, of course, is that me nor Lindsey know what $5 trillion look like, but we can understand $250. So, to have a guy who’s known for the Kavanaugh hearing, who’s known for foreign policy, who’s known for his strong, passionate defense of America, become your Budget chairman, it sent chills down the spines of every member of the United States Senate. But to produce two, not one, but two reconciliation vehicles and get it through our conference is a miracle like Peter walking on the water. And literally without his wit and his humor, we would not have passed the Working Families Tax Cut bill, we would not have secured the national security apparatus through the budget vehicle called reconciliation. So, Lindsey’s footprint, without any question, indelible imprints in the sand from a foreign policy perspective. But without doubt, the nation will benefit for generations because of the multi-trillion dollar tax cut that […] 97% of Americans are benefiting from… | 1 | 2026-07-24T07:30:11Z | 2026-07-24T07:31:13Z |

Scott. “I am proud to introduce the Support for Expectant and Parenting Foster Youth Act, which ensures young parents from the foster care system can create stable homes for themselves and their children. By investing in these young parents and providing them with ample resources, we are strengthening families, investing in America’s future, and ensuring the door to opportunity remains open for all.” “Too many vulnerable youth in our foster care system are forced to contend with early parenthood while facing the complexities of the foster care system,” said Sen. Rev. Warnock. “That is why I am proud to partner with Senator Scott on this crucial bill. Together, we are putting foster youth front and center by expanding access to the Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program through Chafee and providing the resources they and their children need to build brighter, more secure futures.” To reach its goals, the legislation would strengthen the coordination between the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ John H. Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood and the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program (MIECHV). Background: The Chafee Program provides support for children aging out of the foster care system by supporting education, employment, housing, and family-related needs. MIECHV supports voluntary, evidence-based home visiting service… | 1 | 2026-07-24T07:30:11Z | 2026-07-24T07:31:13Z |

America must continue to field the strongest, most capable fighting force in the world." Congressman Norman’s amendments included in the House-passed FY27 NDAA are: Amendment 31: Ensures FY27 NDAA pilot programs expire after two years unless Congress votes to extend them, encouraging federal oversight. Amendment 32: Requires Department of Defense-supported projects to disclose their taxpayer-funded cost, bringing greater transparency to federal spending. Amendment 216: Requires the Army to brief Congress on the effectiveness of insect repellent-treated combat uniforms to improve soldier protection. Amendment 217: Prohibits CCP-linked financial service providers from being used on Department of Defense devices, reducing cybersecurity risks. Background The House of Representatives passed the FY27 NDAA by a vote of 216-212. The annual NDAA authorizes funding, establishes policies, and provides oversight for the Department of Defense and the nation's military. The House-passed version now heads to the Senate. | 1 | 2026-07-23T07:31:02Z | 2026-07-23T07:32:26Z |

This year’s breakfast was hosted in loving memory of late Sen. Lindsey Graham. Sen. Scott honored Lindsey’s legacy as an esteemed colleague, dear friend, and devoted brother. His years of service to South Carolina and this nation will not be forgotten. Sen. Darline Graham (R-S.C.) and U.S. Representatives Sheri Biggs (R-S.C.-03), Russell Fry (R-S.C.-07), Ralph Norman (R-S.C.-05), William Timmons (R-S.C.-04), and Joe Wilson (R-S.C.-02) also shared remarks. “One of the things I will tell you about Lindsey that I think is important to our Scripture today is Philippians 1:6, that he who began a good work is going to be faithful to finish it. And I look around the room, and I know that everybody doesn’t believe as I believe. We have people from different faiths, different walks, people who don’t believe at all,” said Sen. Scott. “In this hyper polarized world that we’re living in, it is so easy for us to make the decision that because you don’t agree with me, you are my enemy. Lindsey never practiced that. Lindsey built a bridge from the Republican side of the aisle to the Democrat side of the aisle, because he believed that there were good people on both sides of the aisle,” he continued. “Every single day, Lindsey was just who God created him to be. We are all complex, complicated layers of humanity, all in one person, typically in conflict with even ourselves. And if you can be comfortable just being you, it might be one of the ways that we honor the Lord, honor the person in the mirror, and for me, honor the life of Lindsey Graham,” he added. (July 15, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced the Third World Immigration Moratorium Act, slamming the door shut and banning aliens from dozens of third world countries from entering the United States. Many of these nations have repeatedly refused to cooperate with U.S. deportation orders, failed to provide basic vetting information on their own citizens, and left American communities to bear the consequences. These are not countries who have earned the privilege of access to the United States. Many of these are state sponsors of terror, hostile regimes, and failed states with a proven track record of exporting violence and instability to American soil. "The American people are done playing games and so are we. For too long, Washington has looked the other way while bad actors exploited every gap in our system and American families paid the price. Those days are over," said Congresswoman Mace. "If you import the third world, you will become the third world. This bill makes crystal clear: entry into the United States is a privilege, not a right. We make absolutely no apologies for defending it." The legislation prohibits entry of aliens from the following countries, which align directly with President Trump's Proclamation, Restricting and Limiting the Entry of Foreign Nationals to Protect the Security of the United States: Afghanistan, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burma, Burundi, Chad, Cote d'Ivoire, Cuba, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Gabon, Gambia, Haiti, Iran, Laos, Libya, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Republic of the Congo, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Togo, Tonga, Turkmenistan, Venezuela, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and aliens with travel documents issued by the Palestinian Authority. More than 1.3 million Americans currently serve on active duty, many of whom travel under deployment orders, PCS moves, or emergency assignments with little notice. Nearly 889,000 children are part of active-duty military families, making airport travel one more challenge for families already carrying the burdens of military life. “Our service members and their families already sacrifice through deployments, long separations, and constant moves. Making travel easier is one practical way we can honor their service and show them the respect they more than deserve,” said Congresswoman Biggs. The Improving Travel for Military Members Act establishes a pilot program at a minimum of five airports to implement priority TSA screening procedures for active-duty military personnel and accompanying family members, with preference given to airports located near large military installations. | 1 | 2026-07-15T07:12:08Z | 2026-07-15T07:13:45Z |

The resolution is co-sponsored by every member of the U.S. Senate and passed the Senate unanimously. “Lindsey Graham was one of a kind. He devoted his life to serving South Carolina and defending the nation he loved, and he did so with unmatched determination, unmistakable humor, and a heart for people.” Senator Tim Scott “Lindsey Graham was one of a kind. He devoted his life to serving South Carolina and defending the nation he loved, and he did so with unmatched determination, unmistakable humor, and a heart for people. Whether speaking with a world leader or a South Carolinian back home, Lindsey made people feel like they mattered,” said Sen. Scott. “His leadership shaped our state and strengthened our nation. Raised in a working-class family, he endured unimaginable loss at a young age when his mother died from cancer and, just 15 months later, his father passed away from a heart attack. Faced with extraordinary hardship, Graham assumed responsibility for his 13-year-old sister, Darline, whom he later adopted. That profound sense of responsibility became the foundation of a lifetime devoted to public service. (July 10, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) renewed her call for a one-year moratorium on new data center construction in South Carolina after a new CNBC report ranked the state among the top 10 best positioned to land artificial intelligence data center deals nationwide, even as public opposition to the industry's expansion grows. "South Carolina is not a free power source for billion-dollar tech companies," said Congresswoman Nancy Mace. "As South Carolina becomes a prime target for AI data center development, the stakes are only getting higher. We need a one-year moratorium to understand the impact on our electric grid, water supply, and ensure South Carolina families aren't left footing the bill." According to CNBC, South Carolina ranks among the top states for AI data center investment, making it an increasingly attractive target for large-scale development. The report also warns the state faces challenges with power generation capacity and the electricity needed to support AI computing. In May, Congresswoman Mace called for a one-year moratorium on new data center construction in South Carolina to give lawmakers time to put real protections in place. Under her proposal, any future data center would be required to fully cover the cost of the energy it consumes and any grid upgrades its operations require. "The moratorium sets the terms for what comes next: data centers pay their own way, or they don't come here," Mace added. ### | 1 | 2026-07-11T07:10:48Z | 2026-07-11T07:14:29Z |

The OSCE PA passed a Wilson-led resolution on fundamental freedoms and democratic integrity in the nation of Georgia – an important move in support of President Trump’s strong foreign policy agenda and against war criminal Putin’s assault on our allies in Eastern Europe. The resolution is available here on page 75. Congressman Wilson was also unanimously elected the new Chairman of the Committee on Political Affairs and Security, which gives the United States a powerful position as we continue to lead in European diplomacy and combat Putin’s aggression. Building on a successful 2026 Annual Meeting in The Hague, plans are already underway for the 2027 Annual Meeting to take place in Charleston, South Carolina. Hosting this conference in the United States would send an unmistakable message of American leadership and reaffirm our nation’s enduring commitment to transatlantic security, democracy, human rights, and the rules-based international order. Additionally, Charleston’s historic Southern hospitality will be on full display for our international allies, and South Carolina’s economy will benefit from the influx of nearly 500 people coming for the meeting. Members of the South Carolina Congressional Delegation joined a letter led by Congressman Wilson to Speaker Mike Johnson which stressed the importance of hosting the OSCE PA 2027 annual session in Charleston. Congressman Wilson previously led a letter joined by Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), Senate Chairman of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN), Ranking Member of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Senate Ranking Member of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, along with numerous members of the commission, to secure funding for Charleston to host the annual session. During the event, the pilots conducted flyovers along the South Carolina coast from Cherry Grove to Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, and Pawleys Island in the Seventh Congressional District. The flyovers continued from Charleston down to Beaufort. According to reports, as soon as the pilots landed, they received a message notifying them of their suspension. Rep. The full content of the letter can be found here: Dear Major General Stilwell, I write to you regarding an incident that has been brought to my attention involving the suspension of eight South Carolina National Guard Apache helicopter pilots following their participation in the 17th Annual Salute From The Shore event on July 4, 2026, celebrating our Nation's 250th birthday, after a frivolous complaint was filed against them. On July 4, 2026, eight pilots of the South Carolina Army National Guard conducted a flyover along the South Carolina coast, demonstrating the capabilities of the South Carolina Army National Guard and the strength of America's military to countless South Carolinians and visitors celebrating Independence Day. By all accounts, the flyover was conducted safely and professionally, with no injuries or property damage reported. Reports suggest that following the flight, the eight crew members were suspended from flight duties pending an internal investigation. | 1 | 2026-07-10T08:20:04Z | 2026-07-10T08:21:18Z |

This project will replace 18 bridges across nine counties in South Carolina, including multiple bridges in SC-01. Rep. Mace wrote a letter of support for the application. "This is a major win for South Carolina," said Congresswoman Mace. "Our state is growing fast, and our infrastructure has to keep up. This investment will replace aging bridges, improve public safety, support local businesses, and strengthen the connections our communities rely on every day. These new bridges are built to last more than 70 years, giving South Carolinians safer, stronger, and more reliable infrastructure for generations to come." Bridge Package 22 will replace 18 aging bridges across Berkeley, Colleton, Darlington, Dorchester, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion, and Williamsburg counties. Many of the bridges are more than 100 years old, with nearly 40 percent in poor condition and subject to weight restrictions or closures. As South Carolina continues to experience rapid population growth, especially along the coast, modernizing this critical infrastructure is essential to keeping residents, businesses, and visitors safely connected. The project will bring each bridge up to modern design standards, add roadside barriers and accommodations for pedestrians and bicyclists where appropriate, and strengthen resilience against extreme weather. Designed to last at least 75 years, the new bridges will provide safe, reliable infrastructure for generations to come. During this nomination period, governors can submit communities to be considered for designation as Opportunity Zones. “I am proud of the work done to make Opportunity Zones a reality, but I am even prouder of the lives changed, communities strengthened, and small businesses revived as an outcome of this innovative tool,” said Sen. Scott. “I am confident that through the partnership with local and federal leaders, these new designations will continue to bring billions of dollars in private investment to overlooked communities in South Carolina and across the country. When we make sure no community is left behind, America wins, South Carolina wins, and the American Dream once again becomes a reality for millions of families.” Sen. Scott created the Opportunity Zones program as part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 with the goal of encouraging private investments in low-income and overlooked communities through targeted tax incentives. Under the Working Families Tax Cuts, Opportunity Zones were made permanent, supporting families, small businesses, and communities across the country. Key facts about Opportunity Zones: 8,764 census tracts have been designated as Opportunity Zones. 31.5 million people currently live in Opportunity Zones; 57% of residents are non-white minorities. The average poverty rate is nearly 28%, and the average median family income is around $47,000—nearly $27,000 below the national figure. Nearly one in five zones face rising poverty along with declining median family income and home values. Opportunity Zones include 2,225 food deserts, 47 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and 16 tribal colleges. Jin had been abducted and imprisoned by the Chinese Communist Party in October of 2025 alongside other members of Zion Church, one of China’s largest underground congregations. “The Chinese Communist Party attempted to thwart Zion Church’s God-given right to worship, but by the grace of God and strong diplomatic pressure, Pastor Jin is free,” said Sen. Scott. “America will always stand as a beacon for faith, freedom, and religious liberty. Every human has a right to praise his or her creator and no nation on God’s green Earth can take that away.” Sen. Scott has been a staunch advocate for religious freedom, joining Sen. Risch (R-Idaho) this past January to introduce a resolution calling for America’s continued leadership on religious liberty and the right for all people to worship freely and without fear of retribution. Background: On Oct. 10, 2025, the Chinese Communist Party conducted the largest coordinated crackdown on a Christian urban house church in over four decades. At least 22 pastors and church members from Zion Church were arrested, which included Pastor “Ezra” Jin Mingri. Sen.Scott, alongside his Senate colleagues, introduced a resolution condemning Jin’s abduction, calling for his release. In March, Sen. Scott signed onto a bipartisan letter urging President Trump to advocate for Jin’s release during his meeting with China’s leader, Xi Jinping. President Trump later met with Xi Jinping and called for Jin’s release. ### | 1 | 2026-07-07T08:20:12Z | 2026-07-07T08:22:09Z |

Those files confirmed taxpayers paid more than $550,000 in settlements covering seven former Members of Congress or their offices. You can find the names and amounts from the files HERE and HERE. Rep. Mace has been pushing for transparency for months. In February, she introduced a resolution to force the House Ethics Committee to preserve and release every record related to sexual harassment investigations involving Members of Congress. Instead, 357 Republicans and Democrats voted together to kill it, protecting themselves and their friends. Rep. Mace already obtained the congressional slush fund records and released them to the public. The Ethics Committe… | 1 | 2026-07-02T06:20:02Z | 2026-07-02T06:21:32Z |

Timmons IV | T000480 | timmons.house.gov | timmons | https://timmons.house.gov/media/press-releases | scraper | Congressmen William Timmons (R-SC) and Sam Liccardo (D-CA) introduced the bipartisan Ounce of Prevention Act to help states, cities, and local governments strengthen communities before disaster strikes. The bill allows local governments to use Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for pre-disaster risk mitigation–eliminating restrictions that currently tie funding solely to post-disaster relief– and cuts red tape that delays proactive projects to protect communities. "Communities should not have to wait until after a disaster strikes to take commonsense steps that protect lives and property. This bipartisan legislation gives local governments more flexibility to use existing Community Development Block Grant funding to strengthen infrastructure, reduce risk, and prepare for future storms. Being proactive is better for taxpayers, better for communities, and better for the people who call those communities home,” said Timmons. “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure; when it comes to disasters, every $1 invested in mitigation saves $13 in public costs for post-disaster response,” said Liccardo, who represents vulnerable stretches of California’s coastside and fire-prone communities. A former San José mayor who became too familiar with flooding, fires, and other climate impacts during his tenure, Liccardo added, “Local communities should not have to wait for the storm, fire, or flood to hit before asking Washington for help. Our bill lets them use already-allocated funds to strengthen infrastructure, reduce risk, and prepare for their worst day before it happens.” Currently, communities can use CDBG funds for several specific purposes, but pre-disaster mitigation is not one of them. Instead, Congress issues supplemental CDBG appropriations to fund disaster recovery and mitigation after communities have already suffered damage. Since 2020, the federal government has appropriated $22 billion for disaster recovery through CDBG. Cosponsors include: Reps. Ted Budd (R-N.C.) in sending a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, calling for measures to restore a more competitive trade balance for U.S. specialty crops with Mexico. In the letter, the senators advocate for addressing the unsustainable pressures on U.S. specialty crop producers caused by an increasing volume of foreign products unfairly flooding U.S. markets while U.S. crops are reaching their peak in-season period. The letter comes as Ambassador Greer works to reauthorize the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). In the letter, the senators wrote: “Without measures to restore competitive balance, specialty crop production will increasingly move to foreign countries. We urge you to evaluate trade actions that can safeguard U.S. growers from unfair pressures from Mexico. This work is essential to maintaining U.S. competitiveness in the specialty crop sector and ensuring Americans continue to have access to high-quality, domestically grown food, which is fundamental to our national security.” U.S. Senators Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.), Ashley Moody (R-Fla.), Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.), Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) joined in co-signing the letter. U.S. Representative Austin Scott (R-Ga.-08) led the letter in the House of Representatives and was joined by 79 members in sending the letter. The letter is endorsed by: American Farm Bureau Federation, Alabama Farmers Federation, Blue Ridge Apple Growers Association, California Table Grape Commission, Colorado Fruit and Vegetable Association, Florida Blueberry Growers Association, Florida Farm Bureau Federation, Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association, Florida Tomato Exchange, Georgia Agribusiness Council, Georgia Berry Exchange, Georgia Blueberry Commission, Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper, Georgia Farm Bureau, Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association, Georgia Green Industry Association, Georgia Pecan Growers Asso… | 1 | 2026-07-02T06:20:02Z | 2026-07-02T06:21:32Z |

(June 30, 2026) - Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) released the following statement after the Supreme Court ruled states may ban transgender girls and women from competing on female school athletic teams: "Biological men have NEVER belonged in women's sports, and today the highest court in the land confirmed what we've been saying all along. "For years, the radical Left told women to stay quiet while forcing men into their bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports to appease an ideology which denies basic biology. Today, they lost. "We helped lead this fight, pushing legislation to protect women's spaces and stop men from taking what women have worked so hard to earn. "This is about fairness. It's about safety. It's about common sense. And today, the Supreme Court got it right. "Putting on a sports bra does not make you a woman. It just makes you a man in a sports bra, and today's decision made it crystal clear: you have no business competing in women's sports. "Today is a win for women and girls across America." ### | 1 | 2026-07-01T06:34:07Z | 2026-07-01T06:35:35Z |

(June 30, 2026) — Congresswoman Nancy Mace issued the following statement after the Supreme Court upheld birthright citizenship protections for children of illegal immigrants: "Birthright citizenship has been abused for far too long, and today the Supreme Court chose to let this abuse continue. "It was never meant to reward illegal immigration. It was never meant to be a backdoor into American citizenship. The Supreme Court got this one wrong, plain and simple. "American citizenship is a privilege, not a prize handed out for breaking our laws. "This loophole has been exploited for decades, and today the justices decided to keep it wide open instead of closing it for good. "This is exactly why we introduced a constitutional amendment to end birthright citizenship and close the anchor baby loophole for GOOD. It has cost American taxpayers billions of dollars, and they are rightfully tired of footing the bill. "Americans deserve a Constitution which protects citizenship, upholds the rule of law, and puts American citizens FIRST." ### | 1 | 2026-07-01T06:34:07Z | 2026-07-01T06:35:35Z |

The Enhancing Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Through Campus Planning Act would support institutions of higher education in developing and implementing comprehensive mental health and suicide prevention plans, helping to improve college students’ mental health. “Education is the key to opportunity in America, and the environment and support our kids receive from cradle to college is just as important as what is being taught in the classroom,” said Sen. Scott. “This legislation prioritizes a student’s well-being and academic success by promoting collaboration and planning between federal agencies and colleges and universities. This bill will help address the growing mental health crisis by making sure all students have the opportunity to pursue their studies in a safe and supportive environment.” “This legislation ensures universities have the tools they need to provide quality care and support to students struggling with their mental health. Our country is facing a severe youth mental health crisis, with more and more college students experiencing anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. This bill addresses that emergency by increasing the resources available to universities to support students when they need it most,” said Sen. Blumenthal. To address our country’s youth mental health crisis, the Enhancing Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Through Campus Planning Act would amend the Higher Education Act. Specifically, the bill would require the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to collaborate and create evidence-based mental health plans that colleges and universities may use to promote positive mental health and address mental health crises among their students. These plans would align with strategies recommended by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Suici… | 1 | 2026-06-30T06:29:10Z | 2026-06-30T06:30:42Z |

It showed the world Americans would stand their ground, defend their freedom, and never bow to a foreign power. “250 years later, this day serves as a stark reminder of who we are and what we are made of. South Carolina has never backed down. We never will. “We will always hold the line." He also emphasized the importance of democratic nations setting the norms of digital finance, rather than oppressive regimes like the Chinese Communist Party, to prevent government surveillance-based financial systems. Below are Subcommittee Chairman Timmons’s opening remarks as prepared for delivery: Good afternoon and thank you all for joining us today for this roundtable on how cryptocurrencies are being used by people living under repressive regimes around the world. Today’s roundtable is a little different from the typical congressional hearing. This will be more of an informal conversation. We will not keep time, and I will not be recognizing Members in any formal order, as we would during a standard hearing. Instead, we will hear from our participants as they introduce themselves and offer some brief opening remarks. During their remarks, Members may engage and ask questions, much like during a briefing – but in a free-form style. While I don’t expect it to be an issue, I will do my best to ensure all Members have the opportunity to ask whatever questions they may have. Of course, Members may follow up separately with any of today’s participants if there are additional questions not addressed during the discussion. I am now pleased to introduce this afternoon’s roundtable participants: Mr. Dustin Palmer is the Bank Secrecy Act Officer at Anchorage Digital Bank, the first federally chartered crypto bank in the U.S. and one of the leading U.S. institutions providing secure digital asset custody and infrastructure for regulated markets. (June 25, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) announced her plans to introduce legislation to ban immigration from Somalia, Sudan, and South Sudan, protecting American communities from the instability and security threats these nations bring. Americans have watched European cities descend into chaos. Importing people from failed and hostile states has cost lives, destroyed communities, and shattered public trust in government. The United States will not make those mistakes. Rep. Mace is stopping it before it’s too late. "We will not put the interests of foreign nationals ahead of the safety and security of American citizens," said Congresswoman Mace. "No more importing instability. No more ignoring the warning signs. No more apologizing for putting our country first. America First. Always." Somalia, Sudan, and South Sudan rank among the most dangerous and unstable nations on earth. America is not a doormat or dumping ground for the third world. These people do not assimilate to our American values, culture or constitution. “We are being systematically invaded and everyone is sitting around watching it happen. Not us. We refuse,” Mace added. ### | 1 | 2026-06-27T21:44:12Z | 2026-06-27T22:11:26Z |
