That's what happened in Louisiana's backyard with the death of Franklin Parish High School football player, Tyrell Cameron. And, most recently, 17-year old Andre Smith in Illinois died from blunt-force head trauma during his high school football game. "We're going to look at it a little closer and see if we could prevent some of these tragedies from ever happening," says Congressman Ralph Abraham. Now Abraham, along with two other representatives, have introduced a bill to address high school football deaths. "We want to give the school district, the coaches, the knowledge that they need to make this a safer sport," says Abraham. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
