Last week,Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12)hosted the third annual, and first virtual, Diversity in Tech Summit. The Summit brings together private sector, government, and education leaders to address and ultimately improve the representation of Black Americans and people of color, including women of color, in the tech sector. Last week, 47 private partners, HBCU leaders and Members of Congress convened to discuss the importance of HBCUs using technology to createa more just and equitable society,saidCongresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12), founder and Co-Chair of the Congressional Bipartisan HBCU Caucus.We convened in the midst of a national emergency where communities of color are mostimpacted, andHBCU students, faculty, staff and their communities have been particularly hard hit.I applaud all of our private partners for working with us create 21stcentury opportunity for the institutions and students who need our help the most. The presentingpartner forthe event was Truist. We've accomplished so much sinceTruistannounced the partnership with the Bipartisan HBCU Caucus; yet, we know there is still more work to do. During the summit, the Bipartisan Congressional HBCU Caucus announced thatCapital One and Better.com joined the HBCU Partnership Challenge.
