This is an opportunity to document historic milestones through contributions from every state and territory. The time capsule was created by the Semiquincentennial Congressional Time Capsule Act passed in February to preserve parts of American history for the next 250 years. “I am proud to be a founding member of the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission and a cosponsor of the bipartisan and bicameral Semiquincentennial Congressional Time Capsule Act. This time capsule serves as an opportunity to document historic milestones and to tell the story of our country through the contributions of Americans from every state and territory. Two hundred and fifty years from now, Americans will get a glimpse into who we were and what we valued.
