Aguilar Announces $3.5 Million for Flood Prevention in San Bernardino 2023-12-13 2023 2023-12 Democrat House CA Pete Aguilar A000371 aguilar.house.gov aguilar https://aguilar.house.gov/category/congress_press_release/ scraper Press Releases Rep. Aguilar Announces $3.5 Million for Flood Prevention in San Bernardino Today, Rep. Pete Aguilar announced that the County of San Bernardino is receiving $3,572,000 for flood prevention from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to combat the increased risk of climate disasters in the community. After record rainfall in Southern California resulting in dangerous mudslides and snow melts in the Inland Empire, this new funding will prevent future flooding by reconstructing the Del Rosa Channel. “This year, our community suffered from mudslides and flash floods that destroyed homes and businesses. To keep the Inland Empire safe from future climate disasters, I’m proud to announce federal investments that make our region more resilient against flooding and other natural disasters,” said Rep. Pete Aguilar. “I am committed to securing more federal funding for critical upgrades and improvements to the infrastructure that keeps us safe.” “These grants play a critical role in our efforts to build and strengthen essential flood control projects, ultimately enhancing the durability and dependability of our infrastructure. We appreciate Rep. Aguilar’s advocacy in securing vital federal resources for our residents,” said Dawn Rowe, Chair of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. This funding comes from the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2022, which Rep. Aguilar helped pass as a member of the House Committee on Appropriations. 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-08T01:14:16Z
