https://amodei.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=25&itemid=1532 Amodei: Nevada Set to Receive $1.25 Billion From the Coronavirus Relief Fund 2020-04-13 2020 2020-04 Republican House NV Mark Amodei A000369 amodei.house.gov     legacy FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact:Logan Tucker, 202-225-6155 WASHINGTON, D.C. Congressman Mark Amodei (NV-02) today released the following statement thanking the U.S. Department of Treasury for fast-trackingthe ability of eligible State, local, and tribal governments to receive payments from the Coronavirus Relief Fund, giving Nevada access to $1.25 billion in funding to help offset costs incurred as a result of COVID-19 response efforts: It's encouraging to see more support headed our way. Today's news follows last week's allocation of $241 million for Nevada's hospitals and health care providers and an additional $5 million in funding to help the State manage administrative costs associated with the recent surge in unemployment claims. With Nevada's health care professionals and state and local partners currently exhausting all energy and resources to combat this pandemic, I'm incredibly grateful to Treasury officials for acting swiftly to deliver this much-needed relief a week ahead of schedule. Background: The CARES Act established the $150 billion Coronavirus Relief Fund. On April 13, 2020, Treasury announced its launch of a web portal to allow eligible State, local, and tribal governments toreceive paymentsto help offset the costs of their response efforts. Once registered through this portal, States, territories, and the District of Columbia will promptly receive half of the funds allocated to them pursuant to the CARES Act. This will fast-track the availability of $71 billion of the Fund to meet immediate cash flow needs. The remainingbalance of the Fund will be paid no later than April 24, 2020. The State of Nevada is set to receive a total of $1.25 billion in support from the Coronavirus Relief Fund. The disbursement of these funds will be determined by the State. The CARES Act requires that payments from the Coronavirus Relief Fund only be used to cover expenses that: Are necessary expenditures incurred due to the public health emergency with respect to COVID19; Were not accounted for in the budget most recently approved as of March 27, 2020 (date of enactment of the CARES Act) for the State or government; and Were incurred during the period that begins on March 1, 2020 and ends on December 30, 2020. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
