Amodei | A000369 | amodei.house.gov | amodei | https://amodei.house.gov/news-releases | scraper | WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Nevada Congressman Mark Amodei led the House Committee on Appropriations markup of the Fiscal Year 2025 Homeland Security Appropriations Act. The bill was approved by the Committee with a vote of 33 to 26. Congressman Amodei is the only Nevadan to chair the House Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee and the primary author of this bill, which funds border patrol, immigration and naturalization, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Transportation Security Administration, the U.S. Secret Service, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and cybersecurity, among others. “Republicans don’t want to continue to fund the status quo. The border crisis has gotten so bad that even mayors of Democrat cities have declared the situation untenable,” said Congressman Amodei. “That’s why this bill invests in tried-and-true methods of securing the border that the men and women in the field are asking for – more agents, detention beds, and physical barriers.” | 1 | 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z | 2026-04-07T21:11:47Z |
