Lokshin’s artwork, entitled At the Beach, will hang in the U.S. Capitol, along with other winners from across the country as part of the year-long Artistic Discovery exhibition. Jacob and his parents, Mindy and Boris, traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in the art competition's slate of events. “I did not envy our judges. We have some talented young artists in CD-2, all of whom would be great ambassadors for Nevada,” said Amodei. “Three million people visit the Capitol every year and they're going to see Jacob's outstanding artwork front and center.” As winner, Jacob met with Amodei, had his picture taken on the steps of the Capitol with the other winners, and participated in the opening ceremony of the art exhibit. Artwork from runners-up, Tim Taylor of Dayton High School, Sierra Esau and Lauren Marie Wodarski of Bishop Manogue High School, and Anne Mueller of Reed High School, will also be displayed at Amodei's Reno, Elko and Washington, D.C. offices. Honorable mentions include Eli-Jah J. Bolton, Riley Clafton, Delia Diaz, Taylor Grogan, Elise Levy, Caitlin Mabry, and Roddy White.
