https://baird.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=262 Rep. Baird Releases Statement on the So-Called "Inflation Reduction Act" 2022-08-12 2022 2022-08 Republican House IN James R. Baird B001307 baird.house.gov baird https://baird.house.gov/news/documentquery.aspx?DocumentTypeID=27 scraper Today, Congressman Jim Baird (IN-04) released the following statement on the so-called Inflation Reduction Act: “Today, Speaker Pelosi rubber-stamped President Biden's and Senator Schumer’s “Inflation Reduction Act.” Unfortunately, this legislation will do nothing to reduce the steady march of disastrous inflation punishing the Hoosiers of my district. “Only to Democrats in Washington, D.C. is another $750 billion of spending, the expansion of the IRS, and the raising of taxes on America’s small businesses considered a presidency-defining success. That isn’t success to my constituents, and I voted against this bill. “Instead, it is time for Congress to deal with the real root causes of our economic woes by reforming and cutting spending and lifting the heavy hand of regulation weighing down what could otherwise be a flourishing and competitive economy for all. Congress needs to focus on oversight of Federal agencies run amok instead of hiring more revenue agents to squeeze even more tax dollars out of hardworking Americans. “I look forward to Congress focusing on these real issues soon.” 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-08T02:59:24Z
