Baird. “Rebuilding our semiconductor manufacturing capacity will strengthen our economy, reinforce America’s chip supply chain, and fortify our national security. I’m proud to have played a role in promoting semiconductor manufacturing and am thrilled to see how Hoosiers will innovate in this field.” Background: The Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPS) and Science Act is a nationwide network of facilities dedicated to strengthening domestic semiconductor manufacturing and provides funding for the creation of Microelectronics Commons regional innovation hubs. The DoD’s recent announcement awards $238 million in funding for the selected facilities, of which $32.9 million has been awarded to The Applied Research Institute in Bloomington. On March 1st, Rep.
