Because of their academic success, each one of them had the option to attend a wide-range of top tier universities. They have chosen to serve their country and commit themselves to the American military. It's remarkable to see such a strong sense of patriotism and duty at such a young age. I wish each of them the best of luck in the final stage of the admissions process. BACKGROUND: Admission to a Service Academy is a two-tiered process. First, the applicant must directly apply to the Academy and meet the set minimum standards. These standards include, but are not limited to medical, physical, and academic qualifications. The second tier in pursuing admissionis the nominationprocess. A nomination does not guarantee admission to a service academy, but it's required to be considered. On November 16, 2019, Congressman Banks' U.S. Service Academy Advisory Board interviewed students seeking a nomination to U.S. Service Academies.
