With the signing of the FY18 NDAA today, President Trump and Congress have followed through on a core duty. I thank my fellow members of the House Armed Services Committee for their hard work on this critical piece of legislation. Our nations military readiness is at dangerously low levels, and its difficult for our armed forces to act if we do not provide them with the proper resources. The NDAA signed by the president today exceeds the administrations initial budget request and begins to address some of these funding gaps.
