The resolution passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 214-208. After the vote, Barrett released the following statement: “My position hasn’t changed. Only Congress has the authority to authorize military action in Iran. I remain ready to work with anyone to eliminate hostile threats to our nation without getting us into another endless war.” This is the third resolution Barrett has supported this year (H.Con.Res. 86 and H.Con.Res. 75). He is also the first and only member of Congress to introduce an Authorization for Use of Military Force (H.J.Res. 176) for the conflict in Iran.
